Opinions are like assholes, sometimes they are shitty....with that said, Laura and others are welcome to have her own opinions but it is their choice whether or not to voice them. Not every podcast is going to vibrate with everyone. I loved the Apple Sisters since the first Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, but that's what I like, the show hits me in a soft spot that I can't expect other people to understand. Just because you love Earwolf, does not mean you have to love all the shows. And just because you have an opinion, doesn't mean you HAVE to express it. There are many podcasts that I don't like, but I don't feel the need to give a negative opinion on them, I just unsubscribe. Just my humble opinion.

Professor Blastoff Show topic suggestion "Coincidence"
frankpulaski posted a topic in Professor Blastoff
Aloha, I would like to suggest the topic of Coincidence. What is a coincidence? Is it random or divine? Do coincidences mean anything? Is it religious or metaphysical? From Wikipedia: "A coincidence is an event notable for its occurring in conjunction with other conditions, e.g. another event. As such, a coincidence occurs when something uncanny, accidental and unexpected happens under conditions named, but not under a defined relationship. When there are no conditions named, the event is just that single entity." Here is clip from "Repo Man", Miller explains the lattice of coincidence and the cosmic unconsciousness. Plate-O-Shrimp. Quotes: "In the magical universe there are no coincidences and there are no accidents. Nothing happens unless someone wills it to happen." William S. Burroughs "According to Vedanta, there are only two symptoms of enlightenment.......The second symptom is that you encounter more and more meaningful coincidences in your life, more and more synchronicities. And this accelerates to the point where you actually experience the miraculous." -Deepak Chopra "Live your life with an appreciation of coincidences and you connect with the field of infinate possibilities." -Deepak Chopra "Coincidence is Godβs way of remaining anonymous." -Albert Einstein "Coincidences are spiritual puns." -G.K. Chesterton "As soon as we notice that certain types of events βlikeβ to cluster together at certain times, we begin to understand the Chinese, whose theories of medicine, philosophy, and even building are based on a βscienceβ of meaningful coincidences." -Marie Louise von Franz "There is no such thing as chance; and what seems to us mere accident springs form the deepest source of destiny." -Friedrich Schiller "Every individual decision is nothing but coincidence, every artistic decision is coincidence." -Alva Noto "Coincidence is the word we use when we can't see the levers and pulleys." -Emma Bull "I don't believe in coincidence." -Juliette BinocheThanks Professor Blastoff! I love the show! Aloha! -

Very cool episode, I like the change up and the opportunity to get to know Chris more. I just started watching The Avengers on Netflix the night before I listened to the episode....very cool...by the way, Jose Conseco has been on Maui the past week with his Yuma Scorpions, playing against Maui's team, Na Koa Ikaika (I fillmed all the home games last year but decided not to this year, crap). He's doing a meet and greet thing tonight with his brother after the game...anyway, thanks for all the hard work and love all of you put into this podcast. Aloha!

I started listening to podcasts in 2006, but before that I was listening to AM Talk Radio, Audio books and lots of Comedy albums. I'm a videographer and have been working as a landscaper by day for 9 years, so I have 8 hours a day to fill my ear holes with audio content. In the beginning, most podcasts were either re-purposed radio content or amateurs speaking into laptop mics. Harry Potter podcasts were always in the top 5. I listened to all sorts of podcasts but the comedy section was lacking. Jimmy Pardo was around but I didn't know who we was and assumed it was another low budget "comedy" podcast. I was wrong. I subscribed to a podcast about "Comics" and it turned out to be about comic books not comedians. In 2007, I started listening to The Preston & Steve show (Phillie morning show), where I was first exposed to Doug Benson. In 2009, I started listening to "I love Movies" and from there found a treasure load of comedy. Doug's show led me to "Comedy Death Ray", "Comedy & Everything Else, WTF, and most of the podcasts I listen to now. These days, I tend to find podcasts from other podcasts or from a network like Earwolf. Rarely do I seach iTunes for podcasts as I have in the past. I've been a supporter of Ear Wolf since it's inception and their shows are some of my favorites. These days, 95% of the podcasts I listen to are comedy, before 2009, it was 5%. I still listen to podcasts every day, on my 5 year old ipod, 8-10 hours on weekdays, 5-6 hours on weekends. I live in Hawaii and do not know anyone who listens to podcasts and not many comics perform on Maui. When you type my address into the "On Tour" section, you find nothing. Podcasts is a way for me to feel connected with the Mainland and an opportunity to hear funny people that I normally would not be exposed to. I appreciate the EarWolf forums as a place where I can relate to others with like minded sensibilities. There are 2 types of show that I would listen to if EarWolf had them. One is a show with Comics talking about Comic Books and a show that talks about TV shows (mainly comedy). So many podcasts are about movies but not many about TV. Thanks EarWolf! Aloha!

Awesome episode! I never heard of Ugly Duckling before but now they have a new fan. I also think it was great to have Brian Unger as the guest. I was looking thru Hulu one day and saw a new show called "How the States got their shapes". I looked at it a bit and asked myself, "Are you Nerdy enough to watch this show?" The answer was yes and I love it. Great episode Brothers of Sklar!
