Great, funny episode! I love Paget, and her ability to take on the usual gauntlet of crazy questions was very entertaining to listen to!

EPISODE 221β Listening Club

I loved this episode so much. Huskey and Morris argue with each other so well. -
EPISODE 4 - Savannah, Georgia

I keep becoming aware of it and forgetting. That is, I don't know her well enough by name, and I did listen to her appearance on the JV Club. When I looked at who she was I was surprised, because everything I've seen her in (The Shield, Two and A half Men, etc) she does not speak in her native accent. Even on this episode, when she started speaking I was like, "Oh, who's this New Zealander?" Looked at her photo and reacted with, "GAH! Fooled again! I forgot about her being a kiwi!" -

TRACI: Well, you know what JNCOs are, Aaron? AARON: JNCOs are jeans that are too wide for human legs. That is the best explanation for JNCOs I have ever heard. -

I can't stop laughing just reading that quote, so I must concur. "The concavity of these windows doinks the sunlight back out into the sun." -
Ohhh, I thought it was Ed Droste from the Grizzly Bears (ASSSCAT from 4/5). He looks a little like Zack Braff, which is what I was going off of. I was way off base. All of that twitter stuff is bonkers.
-
Hrrrrrnnnnh, I really want to hear all of the grizzly details.

I have not started listening to this episode, but reading Michael's last name in the description, I can only hope it's pronounced 'Ex-plo-si-o-ne.' (EDIT: Hope confirmed!) Also, whoa! Is this a rare peek from out of the studio and into the Earwolf offices? Quite an operation!

I thought this episode was very entertaining from a comedic and cult-of-personality perspective.

EPISODE 182 β Dave Hause Flip Flop Dip Dop
KajusX replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I was very happy when Brian Huskey introduced his morning show host character's long, screaming sign on/off because Brian has a hilarious scream, especially when he's shrieking angrily. It hits all the same funny chords for me as Bob Odenkirk's ability to yell things like his catchphrase ""GODDAMMIT!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZNUNZGBT4Q -
I personally would switch Gourley's and Daly's roles. That way Gourley could have a british-off as Q, and Andy could go dark with his insane villain persona. "WHAT'RE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! IS THAT RIGHT???"

EPISODE 2 - A Mechanic's Garage
KajusX replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
MICHAEL: I'm a comic book fan, obviously. This is how I know about Batman; The Batman, as he's known by true fans. PAUL: That's rightβ and the criminal underworldβ Let's face it; a cowardly, superstitious lot. MICHAEL: 'Is he a man in a costume, or is he a giant bat? We're not sure.' PAUL: Are criminals in the Batman universe like, 'No, I think he's an ACTUAL bat'? MICHAEL: Uhh, low-level thugs do, yes. Early on, they think he could actually be a giant bat monster. PAUL: (guffawing) So they think this giant bat cares about crime?! "Hey! I do care about crime, you guys!" βMan-Bat -
Very true. When I googled Lazybones, its location was totally at the eastern-most tip of Long Island in Montauk. SO SPECIFIC.
-
SHIT!! I meant New York references!
-
I just love that I googled Montauk to verify the spelling, then looked up Lazybones to see if it was a thing and it was. Gabrus loves his New England YORK references. (I meant New York; I was typing absent-mindedly!)
-
GINO: I caught a 22 inch flounder off a Lazybones charter boat out of Montauk. I was second place in the- SCOTT: I don't know what you're saying right now! What do all of those words in that combination mean?

EPISODE 2 - A Mechanic's Garage

The 'The Batman' portion of the conversation was UH-MAZE-ZING. I was doubled over in my paper-thin-walled apartment trying my best not to disturb my slumbering neighbors and FAILING. -

Oh my god that Strangers/Slender Thumbs sketch was so friggin' funny. "OH MY GOD... ... I did it again." -

Fans of the show should be called SPONTUNERS, because it's fun to say, it sounds like 'spontoon' which is a pole-arm weapon with multiple blades (symbolic of CUTTING EDGE comedy), it has 'spont' in it, we tune in to the podcast, and it's not nearly as unwieldy as something closer to the podcast's name, like Spontaneanationals or some such. Or, if SPONTUNERS doesn't quite work, abstract it by one more level and make it SPONTANUNERS so it makes absolutely no sense. -
Upcoming on the 4th season of CBB on IFC. "Thomas Middleditch Wears an Enigmatic Sweatshirt and Sweatpants With Pockets" airing May 22nd.

That's interesting! Of Middleditch's appearances on stuff, I saw Silicon Valley relatively last, so I was surprised t'other way when his character was much more reserved than I had expected. I loved Middleditch's Pete Holmes Show appearances on Ex-Men and Red Tape, ESPECIALLY the outtakes, and especially Middleditch as and . His 'Gravy Boy/Mashed Potato Boy' riff in the Ken scene kills me every time. Then one day I was looking up Marc Evan Jackson tumblr posts and saw a link to a series MEJ & Thomas were in called FOX COMPTON (also starring Angela Trimbur, Brandon Johnson, and Lauren Lapkus). It's so good. Seeing Fox Compton is what compelled me to buy a season pass to Silicon Valley S1. Fox Compton - Episode 1 Fox Compton - Episode 2 Fox Compton - Episode 3 Fox Compton - Episode 4 When I saw his photo for CBB I was like, "THIS IS GOING TO BE BANANAS." (Thomas' instagram is also great, with a lot of videos of joking around from the set of Silicon Valley season 2.)

The only thing better than those two calls to China was everyone's reaction to actually reaching someone in China. "'CLICK!' I say to you too!"
