Episode 81 — Finger Fuckers
daveB from Oakland replied to admin's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Astartes -- It looks like a lot of people here have taken shots at you already, so I don't wanna go too far in the over-bullying process. But I just wanted to critique your characterization of this segment as "non-humorous". I thought Randy Cohen was funny as shit. And he was able to make Matt crack up, even while he was delivering some tough criticisms to him. So kudos to this Ethicist guy. Disclaimer: I haven't listened to the Jason Collins episode yet. And I haven't read everything in this thread. And I haven't finished listening to this particular episode, I'm still in the middle of the Randy Cohen call. So am i intellectually lazy? Probably yes. Is that an ethical problem. Also probably yes. -
Episode 36 — I Didn't Get The Memo!
daveB from Oakland replied to admin's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
That would be a much mellower show, but I bet Vance and Jake could dig up some amazing footage. -

Jake, do you or anyone at Earwolf headquarters have video of Gary's west coast visit? As you pointed out, he is quite the physical comedian. -
Interesting historical tidbit: This 2005 bit was broadcast long before there was such a thing as a 21st century "Tea Party" http://www.morningseditionists.com/msarchive/pendejo/Pendejo%20the%20Revolutionary%20-%2005-16-05.mp3 #Teabag #theRevolution

Old-time fans of Marc's Air America show may remember a cat from Marc's past, BUTCH, the (female) French cat. http://www.morningseditionists.com/msarchive/dreamdiary/Marc%27s%20Dream%20Diary%20-%2002-18-05.mp3 Butch made regular appearances in "Marc's Dream Diary" http://www.morningse...ive/dreamdiary/ More bits here ... Morning Sedition was the first time I ever heard Eddie Pepitone http://www.morningse....com/msarchive/

I loved it! It was better than Dame Sir Lloyd Weber's "Cats"! I want to listen to it again, and again, and again!!

Episode 127.5 — 5/10/13 TWO CHARTED 66
daveB from Oakland replied to admin's topic in Who Charted?
Yesterday's "Fogelnest Files" featured a fully-present Howard and Kulap ... so really, there's very little to complain about this week. -
Is this the same show I saw streaming live last nite? That's a quick turnaround!

Episode 35 — The Who Charted? Files

I paused the show to write that, and right after I unpaused I heard Howard say "Cuban Schnitzel". -

"The Elian Gonzalez of bananas" Sometimes it's just magic, the way that Howard mashes up words and ideas. -

Oh well. Howard at half-capacity is still better than no Howard at all. -

Improv for Humans promoted on bizarre anti-semitic website
daveB from Oakland replied to bummer dude's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
... or perhaps the people who run that site are big fans of the retired Pope, Joseph "JoJo" Ratzinger http://dlm.libsyn.com/greg-proops-the-retired-pope-and-werner-herzog-guest -
Episode 9 — Michael Moore
daveB from Oakland replied to admin's topic in By The Way, In Conversation with Jeff Garlin
Oh man, I'd love to see that pilot episode with Michael and OJ. I got kinda bored when Michael elaborated on his OJ theories, but the part where he actually got to interview him on TV was hilarious. -
That was actually one of the better "Would You Rather"'s that I've heard in a while. Maron approached entirely absurd premises with a certain degreee of seriousness and gravitas, which made the absurdity all the more hilarious. If you haven't seen James Adomian's "Maron in Space" short films, get thee to the internet immediately. Just google "Maron in Space" on Bing (or vice-versa). They're fucking funny as hell. (This is a Maron thread, so I'm obliged to use the F word at least once). Marc himself is in one of the Adomian things. And the preview episode of the IFC show on YouTube was A++. Fuckin' funny, dude. Lock the gates!! I've been listening to Marc since the Air America days, and it's nice to see him getting this victory lap. Makes me feel better about the world.

Episode 34 — If It Ain't Stiff, It Ain't Worth A Fred Armisen
daveB from Oakland replied to admin's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
Fred Armisen is the Zelig of indie rock & comedy. I'm not sure exactly what I mean by that, but I'm gonna stick with it. The Thatcher/Ian Rubbish digital short was awesome for all the period details ... but the "Cadena Norton Wedding" was even cooler ... http://www.hulu.com/watch/126479 ... because it was one of those genius sketches that could only get onto SNL after 12:45 ... because it was so specific to the DC hardcore thing, with a little bit of Suicidal Tendencies added to it ... because it was aired live, which made the chaos of it all the more special ... because it had Dave Grohl, who was part of that DC scene before he got all famous ... and because Sudekis's "enthused dork" response is a perfect grace note to the whole thing. And JUST BECAUSE. -

Link, Link, Link. Come on, dudes. Where's the video link? Thanks in advance to whoever posts a link. -
Holy shit! Dude casually drops into conversation that he's one of the creators of the original "Electric Company"?!??! How cool is rhat?

Episode 33 — Fun Calendar Talk

Whoops. Yeah, I wasn't totally sure about that, but I went ahead and guessed. Well Lacey sounds pretty funny and her artwork is insane, indeed. -

Episode 214 — You Have To Take Action
daveB from Oakland replied to admin's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I'm listening to the beginning of the show ... I can relate to what Jen's saying, in that there will probably be a significant time lapse between my passing from this mortal coil, and the eventual discovery of my body. I could see that happening for me as well. So THANKS FOR THE LAFFS, GUYS!!! -

I agree that "Earache My Eye", by Alice Bowie, is one of the greatest guitar riffs EVER. I remember that Nardwuar got some interesting info out of Tommy about his pre-Cheech&Chong music years ... of course, Nardwuar 's questions were obsessively focused on Canadian content. Jake, do you think you could get Nardwuar on the Files? That'd be straight-up nuts.
