Don't feel bad, Chris and Brady. I felt like kind of a dumbass too. I think the conversation sounded better than it felt. To Frank, Matt and Jeff - You guys have gone above and beyond in discussing the fan's criticisms (which are themselves a testament to the show's success), and I'd like to say thanks for doing so, and for putting on a really entertaining show. I hope to see it continue, in whatever form you choose. Nice job. Adam - We're talking about it so much because we like you guys I found the judging fair, but you guys had a tough challenge that week, and producing something competitive in a half hour is not easy. I've listened to all nine of your episodes - some more than once - and really enjoyed them. Keep up the good work! Late in the episode, I brought up the idea of replacing the "coaching session" with "the pitch," and Matt's concern was that he doesn't want to coach and judge - which makes sense (although that's essentially how Season 1 worked). If you add a host, maybe that person could take on the advisor role. On any other competition, the coaches are separate from the judges, for the very same reasons Matt is uneasy about it. I think Matt made a great coach for the shows that actually brought ideas to the table, and he made a great judge, but it would be best if he was only doing one of the two.

Congrats on making it so far in the competition. And congrats to everyone who has participated. I've really enjoyed being on this journey with all of you. I'm particularly sorry to see LHR go. I love sketch podcasts and I was rooting for you guys. (SHAMELESS PLUG FORTHCOMING) I began work in earnest on my own podcast around the time The Earwolf Challenge began. It's been fantastic to hear the contestant's critiqued by the great judges we've had, and the words of Matt Besser have been tremendously insightful as I developed my own show. Many thanks to you all. If you dig sketch shows, you might enjoy my show Mojito Bonfire. It's sketch and musical comedy by me and some friends. http://mojitobonfire.libsyn.com I hope this is coherent. I just got home from a wedding and I am tipsy on this space wine. Good night!

is it me or are earwolf shows really loud?
Cold Bones replied to saskrotch's topic in General Earwolf
They're definitely loud. I do most of my listening on my phone, and some podcasts I can't get loud enough to hear well in my car with an earbud in. It's never an issue with Earwolf shows. I recently imported a CBB episode into Pro Tools to check out the levels, and if the engineers responsible are listening, I'd love to know what tools you use to acheive it. It's very very compressed, but you get a really natural sound. Nice job!
