Episode 52 β Itβs Your Choice To Suck A Dick
Jeff MacDonald replied to admin's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Florida voter here. My co-worker said he isn't voting today when I asked him because he just doesn't want to deal with thinking about all the issues, doing the research, etc. I think a lot of people feel that way and I'm not sure how to get them motivated to spend a few hours deciding how to vote. They just don't feel like it is worth their time no matter what I say. I definitely prefer people who know nothing about the current propositions, etc. staying home instead of randomly casting a vote, but I mostly prefer everyone being in the know and voting, giving us a true representation of the people. Any suggestions besides "If you don't vote, you can't listen to I4H." -
I completely lost it at "This just in..." during the dirty talking news anchor. This is a top 5 episode for sure. Probably top 3. Thank you, Matt, for all the work you put into this free show.

Episode 4 β Appealing to Consumers
Jeff MacDonald replied to admin's topic in Seth Godin's Startup School
I like this series. It can be a little tough to digest for me because I listen to earwolf while at work, but I find the info being given to be very useful to me even if I never end up trying to start my own business. I think learning how business functions in our world is an important skill for anyone, and the things Seth talks about help me understand the current company I work for even more which may help me down the line. I wish I could be one of the people asking questions, but I'm happy to get this content regardless. p.s. The length of the episodes is good. Don't make them any longer because there is too much to process as is. -
Still doing the Jeremy Piven callback multiple years later... Scotabot is firing on all cylinders.

That is the first time i've seen this video and I have to say, yo, that is very racist.

Check him out at The Indoor Kids. He did an episode about gaming with your kids. http://www.nerdist.com/2011/09/the-indoor-kids-11-the-gaming-with-parents-episode-with-ron-funches/

Jon Daly is an honest racist.

Episode 5 β Obscure MTV Moments
Jeff MacDonald replied to admin's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
I love how uncomfortable Jake was when she was referring to his 17 year old self as "Hot Jake". Also, still a gigantic fan of this show. I'm already dying for a t-shirt to come out already. -
I heard Tig on Fresh Air last night and flipped my shit when I heard Terry Gross start to describe Tig's set at Largo. I think the words out of my mouth were "That's Tig! Tig, they are Tig!" as I tried to explain how excited I was to my girlfriend. It was excellent to hear her and Louis CK on Fresh Air talking about her new CD. Best part of my day for sure. If anyone missed it check out Tig's part here: http://www.npr.org/2012/10/08/162514763/standup-comic-tig-notaro Now to listen to PB.

First off, love the podcast. I did need to defend video games a bit since Dave seemed to think they were only bad for his kids. I do agree with limiting the time your kids can play video games, but I feel the same about everything electronic be it TV, Internet, etc. I truly believe that video games are actually better than most other forms of electronic entertainment because they engage the user. I definitely have built important problem solving skills from the games I have played throughout the years. It has also helped me creatively in my life by expanding my imagination. Games today are definitely different than they were when I grew up, so I can understand that they need to be limited moreso than back in the 80s and early 90s. The big takeaway from my rant here is that it is important to look at video games as just another activity and not something that is harming your child. I probably played games for an hour+ a day for a lot of my childhood and today I have a good job, a bachelors degree, a stable long term relationship, and in general a good life. I guess I'm just saying it wasn't bad for me, and in my case I believe helped me get to where I am today. Just my story which is all I know, but for my money, games are definitely a good thing. Oh, and I still play video games about an hour a day and keep up with work, after-work classes, multiple social groups, and my significant other.

Episode 3 β Awesome Dudes and Total Jerks
Jeff MacDonald replied to admin's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
More Fogelnest Files is good in any form. Thank you for more. When I saw there was another episode up, I thought it was possible I time traveled to the future. A little bummed that didn't happen. -
Only referring to my penis as my 'tude from now on.

I have to say, the most absurd episode is definitely with Adam Scott and Alan Rickman, but this did get pretty silly. I thought I was going to end the episode without bursting into laughter at my desk, but then Mike the Janitor forgot what happened after he took his clothes off. The rest is history.

I actually really enjoyed the format of a pseudo-interview before getting into the movie. And to be fair, Kevin's stories at the beginning did tie into this movie.

Looking forward to this. I love every appearance Fogelnest has had on every other podcast I listen to. Now to start listening. EDIT: Listened. Loved it. The subject matter was near and dear to me, although I'm a generation late being part of the late 90's hardcore scene. I will say that 'My War' is probably the best album of the 80's. Can't wait for this time next month. Thanks.

I wanted to pop in to congratulate Scott and all others involved in CBB on IFC. It was a true achievement in comedy. Here's to many more seasons to come. xoxo

As a non-child having listener I appreciate this podcast. I find your conversation helpful in figuring out my own life and what I want from it. Also, David is great. Please keep coming out with new shows like this.

Holy god, squarespace commercial was the greatest. Thank you for making them hilarious.

The woman that plays Gossip Gerty, Elizabeth Sanders, is actually the widow of Bob Kane.

I definitely thought this episodes title was referencing pooping.

Episode 34 β Eric the Paid Intern
Jeff MacDonald replied to admin's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I would listen to a podcast of just Eric being made fun of by Matt & Co. Truthfully though, the on the street interview stories don't produce as high quality of improv as the guest stories do. I would say ditch man on the street if you would bring it back with someone who isn't as entertaining as Eric. Maybe just start a segment called "Besser Berates" where you bring in an intern and poke fun for 5 or so minutes. -
I'm not sure why nutrition kept coming up as an Eastern idea for medicine when it is most definitely a western idea as well. I realize there are too many medical professionals that push a lot of drugs instead of working on the nutrition and exercise of their patients, but there are plenty that know that nutrition is a very important part to staying and getting healthy.

Anothah Summah Beer Chart 5. Dogfish Head Tweason'Ale - For all ya'll with Celiac Disease Dogfish Head has the only summah beer you can find without gluten. Oh, and it tastes pretty good. 4. Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager - Light, sweet, refreshing. The aroma gets me every time. 3. Lost Coast Great White - Although not technically a summah beer, its crisp smooth style fits the season too perfectly to leave it off the list. 2. Cigar City Tropical Heatwave Summer Wheat Ale - Limited release by a small microbrew in my current location of Tampa so good luck finding it. Not only is it their cheapest (specialty) beer right now, but it is damn good. 1. Bell's Oberon - for extra delciousness add a shot of gin, a splash of grenadine, and a splash of lemon juice. Also as a bonus, this beer is available year round so it can still be summah during the coldest of winter nights.
