    Mortdecai (2015)

I think the movie looked slick and fun, like, it would've been more watch-able as a silent film. Johnny Depp and Gwyneth come across as irritating from start to finish... and maybe it's that dialogue, which would be fun and sharp to read in a book, but unrealistic and stupid coming from actual peoples mouths in a movie. It's bad, but mostly because it tricked you into thinking it was going to be a fun romp.

    Showgirls (1995)

I am positive that it's on the list, probably for a big live episode with an awesome guest.

The Most Watchable How Did This Get Made Movies?

This is a good list, mostly because it's very similar to what I'd pick, though Batman & Robin would move up into the number one spot because I love that crazy garbage.

    Hackers

That would be a dream!!! Points to you for coming up with the perfect guest for this lovable mess of a movie!
  6. Would make sense for this show - founders of the first (?) big podcasting network.

Episode 126 — Suicide is Painless

I wish Jon stopped lying about what happens in the next season of Mad Men. Everyone knows that Don moves to Atlantic City to fight gangsters.

Episode 10.3 — The Final Challenge: Day 3

Given the above, I'll just stick to the facts. The podcasting network from Los Angeles picked the podcast from Los Angeles. At least Elizabeth wont have to worry about her neighbor scraping ice off the window or whatever that was anymore.

    Episode 8.1 — Using a Famous Guest: Day 1

Bucho, I hit send only to see another six replies following your post (I probably wouldn't have posted it if I saw those responses). Also I'm not trying to say that you only mindlessly cheer when praising things, my points were aimed at the concept of disallowing negative feedback/allowing positive feedback and not any particular person.

    Episode 8.1 — Using a Famous Guest: Day 1

Bucho, obviously I didn't get my point across as clearly as I thought I did given your response. What I'm getting at is that I don't see a point in mindlessly cheering for effort made and banishing those who believe in saying anything negative. Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating being a hater for the sake of it. But if you're making a contentious effort in hosting a forum, you are inviting people to give you feedback; which will always be a mixture of positive/negative, constructive/wasteful. Personally, I write posts only when I have something constructive to say (even if I say it badly, but I'm trying to fix that). If you decide that you want to police that so you only get positive feedback, is their any point in having a forum? Once you get past the first "EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL" post, you can't really get any more constructive, can you? For the record, I fast-forwarded this episode after the first minute thirty until the coaching session music played. Kinda the Earwolf Challenge version of skipping ahead to Plugs. I'm only responding to what I'm reading in this thread.

    Episode 8.1 — Using a Famous Guest: Day 1

Thinking to yourself "That wasn't my favorite" and then doing something productive. I get frustrated when I see negative comments about podcasts because, simply put, you are opting to listen. It's free, and you are choosing to listen. _ Caroline, couldn't you argue that if you're not willing to read negative comments about podcasts because they're free, you'd be better off doing something productive and not reading any comments? _ There is another comedy forum I read where the moderators rule with a 'positive comment only' policy. That's their choice to make, so it's pointless fighting it. But since users are encouraged only to post positive content, posts are not discussions or debates, but cheerleading contests where users try to prove why they are a bigger fan than the others. _ Earwolf made a choice to put a forum here, just as they had episode comments on the previous version of the site. Clearly they wanted to move some of the discussion for their shows from places like AST or AV Club here. But my take is that if you only want positive comments, why bother having a forum in the first place?

"This Disco Sucks!" might be the funniest line I've ever heard on Comedy Bang Bang.

    Episode 7.2 — Original Content: Day 2

I think the F Plus could work better as a more heavily-produced show. Layer the music with the readings (like in a This American Life segment) and save the riffing for interstitial segments, and I'd be more likely to listen to it _ Yes, the show needs a production boost bad. I think you could get away with having the riffing as it is now, provided that you had some soft music playing under the readings (for the sake of clarity). If anything, lack of production will be the reason the show can get eliminated this week - aka the same shit they've been facing for a while now. _ Jordan was a great judge, the best the show has had so far in my opinion. But the submissions were pretty blah from all parties, so it will be hard to put together a bottom three. So my guesses are The Little Dum Dum Club (who will be the first safety, but the judges will talk about how they need to be more accessible/less local referential), Totally Laime (who will do something stupid like reject the feedback and still not get eliminated) and the F+ (who will go home). _ Glad to hear Matt B taking the feedback and working to make a great show _ Also glad that they are willing to take on user suggestions, even if the tone is less than ideal.

Episode 5.3 — Using the Guest: Day 3

Television Zombies weren't going to win the Earwolf Challenge with the ongoing problems they have had, but they didn't deserve to get eliminated on this week's challenge. Thankfully the show that brought me to the Earwolf Challenge and the show that I want to win are still alive.

Episode 5.2 — Using the Guest: Day 2

Some interesting thoughts in the thread this week. I can't agree with Allison's comment that Totally Laime's has a hook when The Little Dum Dum doesn't. Essentially they are both the same show - hosts goofing off with guests in front of a microphone. That's also the same concept for a number of other podcasts - Jordan Jesse Go and Comedy Bang Bang to name a few; so what would both add to Earwolf if they won the challenge? I have mixed feelings on the F+'s submission this week. The guest understood the format and brought funny content, yet there was no interaction beyond dismissal. They have such a great concept yet seem to get the challenge wrong every week without fail. I listen to podcasts to avoid morning zoo's, so I didn't like Totally Laime's submission this week. Too many sound effects, used far too quickly. I thought the judges gave Television Zombies a hard time. They explained from the top that they have a voice actor on, and allowed him to focus on his craft while the hosts stick to their format. I think the Zombies shouldn't have brushed pass the first impression so quickly (it would have been fine to shoot questions for two minutes), but I don't think it's fair to thumb down the show because it's a poor impression or if they sprung the impression request on the guest. Fair point on the sound quality, but the judges asking who the guest was - really? Winner: Left Handed Radio Bottom Three: Totally Laime, F+, The Fort

Any Guests You Want to Hear on the Show?

    Suggestions

My suggestions would be: Tighten up the show. Matt asks "What are we doing?" on the opening episode of this week's episodes. Can you imagine Heidi opening up an episode of Project Runway asking the judges what this week's challenge is? It seems odd that the host is unsure of the show as the listeners are, and gives the show a real "we are making it up as we go" feeling. Change-up the Coaching Session so Matt speaks to the contestants once they have started working on the challenge. It is really hard to listen to Matt explain the week's challenge, then explain it another nine times to each contestant. What more, it's not interesting to hear the contestants answer "we don't know what we will do this week" when asked what they will do for the challenge. If I was watching Top Chef, it would be the equivalent of cutting the scene where we see the contestants cook food - while the food looks amazing at presentation, how did we get to that stage? By having the coaching session once the contestants have started working on the challenge, we get in the head of each contestant and find out what they are facing - do they understand the challenge? Are they having issues putting together an entry or finding things easy? Do they have questions for the coach that they didn't have before they started? It will add some genuine emotion/drama to the show, which it doesn't really have until the elimination stage. A winner for the week's challenge. It seems odd to have a reality show where everyone is great except for three each week, and doesn't give the contestants anything to achieve to other then not being eliminated. Give the winner immunity for the next challenge should they get picked in the bottom three.
