If you want to focus on stuff from the 1980's, the ALF cartoon show (and it's spin-off, ALF Tales) is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. Kids would not even understand 90% of the jokes. Just to set the stage, the ALF cartoon is about ALF's life before his planet blew up. Meaning you tune in with the knowledge that all the lovable goofs we see in ALF's life will one day be incinerated by nuclear war. This show was popular enough to spawn a spinoff, wherein the characters from the original cartoon were cast in fairy tales. As if this wasn't esoteric enough, each episode was also a parody of something else in pop culture. Just as an example, one episode was about ALF as Jack in the Beanstalk as Norman Bates from the movie Psycho. It also produced one of the most cringe-inducing examples of white people being clueless about rap music, in the episode entitled "Rap-Punzel" (see what they did there?). It's on HuluPlus. Here's a link: http://www.hulu.com/...386672#i0,p5,d0 Here are some images so you get some idea of what I'm talking about. (Yes, that is Ronald Reagan as an ALF creature in the last picture) -

Hey man, loved the punk rock show. Have you ever seen footage from the Ronald Reagan/James Dean movie The Dark, Dark, Hours? Not since The Devil's Advocate has the world seen such a combination of great actor and terrible actor. This cautionary film about the dangers of beatniks is truly a tale for the ages. It's interesting to see that bebop music was treated very much like the punk rock of its day. -
I'd love for that Butler to just pick up the narrative slack of all movies in the third act. "I loved Citizen Kane...I cleaned up his puke...and ladies and gentlemen of the press, Rosebud was just a goddamn sled. This man clearly died mourning for his lost childhood." I dug the new Amazing Spider-man movie. I think Kulap should be monitored for 1920's slang, sexual harassment, and inexplicable dance numbers, because I fear the Venom suit may have infected her as well.

Spider-man 3, another good nominee for best/worst musical number.

Eating a penguin's butt has to count as birth control, because then they can't sit on the eggs.

because of that movie. -
Thanks to Birdemic, Mac 'N Me, Cool as Ice, Leprechaun In the Hood, and the Crank films, I think "Best Musical Number" or "Best Use of Music" is a must.

next time let them loose. -
-I'd really like for the fake "guests" to be animated or something, so that the comedians can actually look like the people they're portraying. -Paul F. Tompkins on Episode 1 -an hour format, so there's time for interviews as well as improv games and comedy. -a place to find the episodes online, so they can reach CBB's chief audience. -special podcasts focusing on the development and creation of selected episodes, when possible. -Ponies.

Were you raised in a barn? -
You guys should fire your secretary of continuity. Scott said that Christopher Hitchens was the first ghost of CBB, when everybody knows that the Racist Child Ghost from a Bygone Era has also been on Comedy Bang Bang. You should all be haunted by the ghosts of CBB past. All three years of it.

Harris Wittles might want to change his beloved catchphrase to the ladies. "Wanna get Wittled?" Kind of implies he's going to carve them up with a knife.

Hooray for iTunes gift certificates!

I love an all-character episode of CBB. The orphan child sounds a lot like Baby David Sedaris.

Janelle Monae. So Pret-tay. Fun's been doing awesome tracks for awhile now. Walking the Dog and All the Pretty Girls were my previous favorite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPLMwI1wabE&ob=av2e

St. Patrick drove out the snakes. The Pied Piper drove out the rats. He was not a saint. He drowned all the village's children.

I just saw the preview, and it was pretty awesome. Reggie Watts is probably the greatest bandleader ever. Great cameos by everyone, too. I thought I heard somewhere that the show would have some animated bits as well (possibly the Bob Odenkirk episode of CBB), so I'll be curious to see how that is integrated. I liked the scripted bits, but my favorite part of CBB will always be the riffing and improv, so I hope to see more previews of that in the days to come.

Taking the idea further, it's unacceptable that Enigma Force Five hasn't fused together to form a giant robot yet. The new show should remedy this.
