Episode 146 β€” Keep It Clean

The kick? WOW! That is garbage. I don't listen to that stuff either. It sounds like people taking the stocks sounds out of a DAW and going to crazytown. "I have an empty block right here...maybe I should fill that space with a bleepity bloop"

Episode 236 β€” White People Twerking

This whole comment is full of crazy. What are the "actual" instances of co-option vs the "fake" instances of co-option, Joshie? I want a definitive list. And can you ask the reanimated corpses of black civil rights leaders what they think of Kanye West's new album as well? It should be easy since you have them in your Frankenstein lab and are apparently grilling them about twerking. And what makes you so sure that the misogyny that you see is "actual"? It could very well be "fake" misogyny, which would make sense since it stems from a "fake" instance of co-option. Can you reanimate the corpse of Susan B. Anthony and ask her before you make such statements?

Can someone explain to me what is the 'edm' aspect of that Avecii song? Is that not a real guitar I hear, but instead a crisp, guitar sample looped in Reason?

Episode 146 β€” Keep It Clean

There was a guy I used to work with that needed to have a morning coffee before he could get anything done. A morning coffee and a cigarette. After that, he would sit at his desk for several hours and then go to lunch. I still don't understand how could physically have done that; after drinking coffee or smoking cigarettes, I get the bubbleguts. He did them both at the same time! It's like he was impervious to bubbleguts. http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/2517/caffeine-a-love-story-from-june-raphael-and-casey-wilson

He did say that the Walmart makes a killing when it event comes around, so maybe Sam Walton is behind Burning Man.

    Episode 5 β€” Burning Man

How is it that Burning Man is still around? People are doing illegal drugs out in the open and walking around naked. How is it that law enforcement allows this to take place year after year?

Episode 71 β€” The Glimmer Man

Didn't Klaus Kinski have some sort of incestuous relationship with his daughters like the guy from the Mamas and the Papas had with Mackenzie Phillips? I can't remember where I heard that, but I maybe getting him mixed up with an Italian director who had similar rumors about his family life. His daughter was the love interest in the Vin Diesel classic, 'XXX'.

He should freestyle the chart themes each week. That would be cool.

    Untraceable (2008)

This topic brings up one of my favorite scenes out of any movie I have ever watched. In Jurassic Park, Sam Jackson shuts down the park's computer system and reboots the servers. Ok, everything is fine. All they need to do is turn on the power breakers. But the power breakers are on the other side of the raptor compound. But when Sam Jackson says, "yeah, I'll go turn on the power breakers," no one gives him a gun, the weird Australian hunter doesn't volunteer to go with him to make sure the raptors don't eat everything but his left arm (spoiler alert: they do). Why on earth would you send the PROGRAMMER out into a dangerous area with dinosaurs all around. What if something went wrong with the power startup and you had to make some tweaks on the command line? I feel like programmers around the world need to stand up to this bullshit. WE WILL NOT GO INTO DANGEROUS SITUATIONS WHERE OUR PROGRAMMING SKILLS ARE NOT NEEDED. IF I CAN REPROGRAM THE RAPTORS NOT TO KILL ME, THEN I'LL GO OUT THERE. IF NOT, I'M STAYING MY BLACK ASS INSIDE, THANK YOU. Also, there was no Unix OS that had a 3D file system GUI in 1994. I feel like that product would have made more money for the Scottish millionaire than the actual park, cause that would have blown the socks off of Windows 95.

He's just that good, IsaiahER. He made GUI interface with Visual Basic and backtracked the video game's MAC address and bypassed the game's BIOS filter, and then...BAM! All your video games are belong to us!

    Tammy & The T-Rex (1994)

I hope they have a scene where the dinosaur drives a souped up Mazada Miata while Denise Richards makes out with a girl in the backseat.

Episode 71 β€” The Glimmer Man

I saw that movie in the theaters and it was the best movie going experience I've had (other than the release of Friday the 13th). The funniest part about that movie is when DMX is doing his fight against one of the main henchmen. It's raining or something and DMX's shirt is off so you can see his muscle glistening. DMX beats up the bad guy and then -- in slow motion -- drops to his knees and looks up to the sky. And in the theater someone yelled out "Khannnnnnn!" and then someone else started singing "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone.." Everyone cracked up for about a full minute afterwards.

I just read the wiki on this movie and I didn't know that Mark Wahlberg was going to be in this but ended up passing to star in Boogie Nights. Good move, Wahlberg, good move!

Episode 71 β€” The Glimmer Man

After listening to this podcast for upwards of a year and some change, I am really interested in what goes on during the filming of a movie. I always thought that it was a straight forward process -- the cast gets the script, memorize the lines, and the director films it. But after listening to this ep and others, there seems to be a lot of going on the set from having to convince Seagal -- the hero of the movie -- kill the bad guy in the movie to Nic Cage wanting to switch parts in the middle of 'Trespass' to Stallone improvising food quips in 'Cobra'. Does anyone know of any documentaries that is just the behind the scenes look at making a Hollywood movie?

Episode 71 β€” The Glimmer Man

We should get lumbering Seagal and Gymkata master Kurt Thomas into the octagon. I would pay good money to see that. Actually, I would pay upwards of $30 to have someone write out Thorg in Gymkata and replace him with Seagal.

    Now You See Me (2013)

The funniest thing about Swordfish is that Hugh Jackman is a computer programmer! A computer programmer?! Jackman, who has the body to play Wolverine is also believable as a person who sits at a desk for long stretches of time...a person who reads and writes code for a living. I laughed so hard at that. It's like the Rebecca Romijn and all of these male models are the CSI techs on NTSF:SD:SUV. It makes no damn sense.

That's the prequel to "The Moles," the Adam Scott-inspired flick where everyone is a mole.

Episode 71 β€” The Glimmer Man

Just to touch on something that Paul said in the podcast about Seagal and Wayans not knowing what their role was to be in the movie -- I feel that this was a time when the action stars of the 80s were trying to branch out into other genres like comedy, with the results being almost always disastrous (save for Kindergarten Cop). So, maybe Seagal was trying to hedge his bets by casting Wayans. But what he didn't know was that Wayans didn't want to be a comedy guy anymore and was straight up looking to be a legit action star. Wayans took the movie thinking it would be a good vehicle to show off his action hero chops. So neither one of them got exactly what they wanted out of this movie -- Seagal's looking for someone to bounce zingers off of and Wayans is looking to do stunts with a legit action star, not a lumbering mushmouth.

Ok, so what's up with June facing away from the camera for the group shot? And there being no pics of her in the episode? Did she and Casey Wilson reenact Street Fighter and give each other black eyes?
  25. Sulkin is an asshole, yes. But if you look at the old eps of Family Guy to the new ones, you can see her name in the credits and its cool because you see her go from being a writer's assistant to being the credited writer for specific episodes to being the executive. But, I'm pretty sure she's the only minority on the writing staff
