  1. Fun potential plot twist--what if the blob did in some way assimilate Lyra's freshly-dead brain so that it carries some vestige of her consciousness, but in a damaged way, and it/she's PISSED OFF that they left it/her behind...

I think that was certainly the idea with the blob attacking the giants. She was still in there for at least a while.

  2. Ha! Well I didn't mean to give the impression I can afford these things or that people on the podcast were buying them. I think the only nerds who must get them are engineer defense contractors who live in the desert next to missile silos.

I think expensive dice are hilarious. You're supposed to chuck them against things. They're not gonna hold up, or at the least the hard ones will dent the table.

  3. We've all seen this amazing website, right? I know I've linked it on the forums at least once.

Well they have so many goddamned kinds of dice (in particular I think there are something like 1,000 types of wood) I was wondering if other people have ever window shopped on there (or maybe even shop shopped) and thought one looked particularly cool.

I think these are particularly badass, especially how they look like they could chip a wooden table.

  4. Great episode!

Dan, I feel Lyra went out like a champ! Walking into that situation with (I think) 8 HP was pretty ballsy. Thank you for taking the risk. I'm sad to see Lyra go, but I am looking forward to meeting your new character. Are you going to try out another class, stay the same, or are you going to save the big reveal on-air?

And to everyone at NP, I just want you all to know you are all doing a fantastic job! Can't wait for the next episode!

Thanks! Yeah, I felt like it was worth a shot. I enjoyed the difficulty of dealing with all these asshole giants, but wanted to see how far I could push these assholes when being diplomatic. Oh well! Motherfuckers will pay.

I don't want to give my new character away but it will definitely be a new race and class.

Snaf00: not offended. I've been doing comedy for 18 years and don't have that thin a skin. But also I know when a conversation is headed in a direction that is weirdly bossy and nobody finds it interesting to be talked "at" like that. If you did that at a party the other person would walk away immediately.

  5. OK, I get it, you guys don't really care what we think. I hope it works out for you.

No matter how much niceness it's couched in, wishing for a TPK is still creepily aggressive. It's like if someone came up to you after a stand-up comedy show and said "Hey, I'm a big fan of you, but could you set all your notebooks on fire?" Things take work to create and wishing it would all flush away isn't exactly a sociable way to express you don't care for its direction. Okay, off to go do what I'm actually good at (blowing in cartridges and drawing unicorns).

  6. I'm going to regret this aren't I? I'll respond to the person who is talking how people talk in real life when there's manners and stuff.

Hey Dan, I just wanted to say thanks for being a presence on the forums, and I think it's awesome that you were a fan of the show before you joined the party. Mind if I ask you a few questions?

Oh brother, butter me up and then just that fast I owe you something. HERE WE GO.

Have you ever DM'd? If not have you ever thought about it or written up a campaign? What kind of characters have you enjoyed playing the most? If you guys ever reroll for a new campaign do you already have a character in mind?

IT IS SO MUCH WORK. And it really is so thankless. I am grateful to have Blaine busting his ass, because it is so much world creation and you throw 90% of it away because people are impulsive and curious by nature. I'm sitting on a new campaign and I will probably never do it because I have a family and a job and three hobbies. It involves a bunch of atomies that accidentally rip time and space. Got that? So go ahead and steal it and see if it even matters! It WON'T. In the past I have played a lot of bulldozer tank types, with the occasional spellsword when a DM lets me do a hybrid class. I played a Mage once, but I prefer them in video games where they are less work. Also I'm here to keep Lyra going. I like Lyra. If I have another one in my head I'm not gonna spoil that shit.

And one final question, or maybe just a comedy nerd/D&D nerd request: how has Paul F. Tompkins not been on one episode of Nerd Poker ever? The man is on every podcast in the universe twice a week. I'm just curious and think he'd make a great cameo guest wizard or something. So if you see him around Earwolf please try to casually bring up the fact that a total stranger would like to hear him roleplay with you guys.

Why aren't I on TV? Why do bad things happen to good people? It's not my podcast. I love Paul.
