  1. Holy shit. The conversation with Bill Cosby was one of the funniest fucking things I have ever heard on a podcast!

The best part was that I was working on stuff, so I was only half-paying attention to it really. Then it hits my brain so hard; Bill Cosby is going crazy and arguing with Fat Albert on the phone as Chad tries to get a word in on the Hooray Show, lol. It came out of nowhere for me; I instantly went back and listened to the whole thing to get that entire rambling conversation. Horatio's Bill Cosby/Fat Albert is such a good impression! It's so g**damn funny!

You know it's hilarious when Horatio is breaking and cracking up at what he's saying

  2. Jen Kirkman is 1000% right; Matt has horrible taste in music if he likes Taylor Swift. Holy shit - thank you, Jen! :D

God, that shit is the worst garbage. She's right; there's a difference between good pop people will talk about 2-3 decades later, and then the kind of horsecrap people won't remember (let alone talk about) in even 2 years. Taylor Swift is such a shitty manufactured thing; it's baffling that some people won't stfu about her and her terrible career. Her music is awful.

Btw, MAN OH MAN is it great to hear on her on an Earwolf podcast again! Her new(?) site pictures is smoking, btw (girl looks good!), but when I click it to check, I'm really surprised to see that she has only done 2 podcasts since 2013!!! Man; her presence was missed!

    Frickin' great episode :D

  3. Here's a video of The Rockafire Explosion performing "I've Got a Feeling". Or rather, "improving", because ffs, now it has a Gorilla in a suit on main vocals!

Apparently this is a thing. People making custom routines for their Audio Animatronics since Showbiz Pizza is no more. And y'know what? That's fine. Do something with these robots, I say! F**k Chuck E. Cheese.

if you prefer that instead. From the Rock Afire Explosion's Youtube Page.

  4. http://youtu.be/BN14PvdUZkw

"This spring, the producers of 'The Real World' bring you the ultimate experiment in 'Reality film-making'".

Yup, this is that reality show movie that was attempted back when reality shows were becoming a big thing on TV around the early 2000's. I just was reminded this existed when going back to listen to old eps of, "R U Talkin' U2 to Me?" (it's mentioned in the Joshua Tree episode briefly), and thought, "I bet this movie is terrible. HDTGM should look at it!" Also, it's gotta do with Spring Break, and the last time they did that, they did the classic "From Justin to Kelly" episode.

    It's got a 35% on Rotten Tomatoes.

    It's got a 2.7/10 on IMDB.

But, I've never seen it personally.

Can anyone vouch for this thing's quality? Or lack thereof?

  5. Oh my God, this had so many hilarious moments! I can't believe that Thomas Middleditch could stay in character so well! With that corn-fed hayseed smile-personality... and then simultaneously pushing Lapkus to go into such weird territory and say such weird & hilarious things! Only in that accent could the line, "A lawyer from the early 90s!?! If we can only DREAM of such a thing!" be so freakin' hilarious!

    Amazing episode!

  6. Holy Shit. I could not get through this without pausing the podcast because I was laughing too hard at so many points. When Matt said, "On that note, what if someone is trying to fart into your mouth and you shoot your tongue into their butthole to block the fart... ?", I was done!

And then there was Tim coming in a little later with the train-of-thought statement; "I love Nacho Doritos I'm only eight!". It just sounded so good. Everyone was amazing on this one!

Hilarious episode! This skit better be on the next 'Best Of'!

  7. Oh and Proptip for Paul Rust (or anybody); best 'passwords' are usually codes made from short sentences, if he's not doing it already (usually "Good" Passwords aren't very complicated)

    http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/the-numbers-game/videos/the-perfect-password/

    ==

    Let's sum it up

Let's start with a short sentence example:

"Paul Rust should get a better password" (7 characters... let's add a bit there)

"Great improviser, Paul Rust, should get a better password" (9-11 is pretty good)

Let's break it down into a acronym:

    GIPRSGABP

    Let's use lower case/upper case

    GiPRsgabp

Now let's get "l33t" and swap out some letters for words: ('i' and 'l' can become '1', 's' can become '5', etc.)

    G1PR5gabp

    Voila!

Whenever you need to recall it, just bring up the sentence to work out each character. It's easy to remember (actually remember; I realize it's more effort than letting your browser or smartphone remember it for ya ;) ), but it is still complex. More complex than most people's "complex" passwords.

  8. Guys, I have a confession to make. *Deep Breath* I don't get this show.

I just don't get this show; can someone tell me how funny, smart and good it is? And also, why are Sean & Hayes so cool and how did they get so cool? And why they're so nice (so long as you're not an engineer, poster on the forums, or guest :P )!?!

Also, I do miss the Reality Show-Show.

Do I not deserve to listen to this anymore?

  9. Shrek is Love

    Shrek is Life

This should be good audio for the podcast :)

Although WARNING to Besser/Thomas; we all know Matty B won't like the sole usage of the word f*ggot, so do keep that in mind at 0:21.

    Here's the full version

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxTng4FWxBs

And then here's a time-stamped version starting at 0:32 instead. It should be fine, with none of that word Besser won't like.

Jeez louise; GMod makes this 1000x more funny than it should be. Looks so messed up.

  10. Oh this disaster's a blast! This has one of those moments where you think of the stupidest thing possible, in jest... and then you witness the very thing you were thinking of! Spoiler Alert: I distinctly remember thinking, "I hope he turns into a Werewolf to fight Dracula, lol"... AND THEN THEY DID IT! xD

  11. Hell yeah the Muppets Christmas Carol is the BEST ONE! And Hell Yeah; Wahlberg should steal one! This must be why Disney doesn't let him in a Muppets movie ^-^

You all know the words, more or less, now let it into your brain:

So glad DVK and co. continue to solve the World's problems :)

  12. What? How is this not racist!? This is the dumbest question ever :)

Oh well; important thing is that just serves as a launching point to talk about this bullsh** with American Sniper. And Jimmy Wong's breakdown of religion - all religion - is super succinct and brilliant. And obvious; it should be, anyway

The line about, "We're basically living in 'The Crusades: as presented by Exxon-Mobil®'" was amazing :D

    Great ep!

  13. True story; just yesterday I had the thought, "Oh man; it's been a few days since I heard Horatio Sans in a podcast. DANGIT!" This is almost perfect timing xD

    * - heard the last Hooray Show, like, a week ago, and then the Dead Author's Podcast with Horatio 2 days ago. I highly suggest anyone who hasn't heard it give it a listen; Paul F. Tompkins and Horatio Sanz, in character as H.G. Wells and the author of Don Quixote, Miguel de Cervantes? But not really because they hardly talk about the book and basically just go along with Horatio's amazing backstory and details for the guy? With accents!?! BRILLIANT!

I love the Hooray Show! Keep it up

  14. Ha! Sorry to disappoint you Jack, but I will not defend the internet's free speech bullsh*t. Mostly because there are teenagers on the internet. I'm a firm believer in people proving they're worthy to use something before having a crack at it; if you need to take/pass a test before being trusted to drive a car, I don't know why there are no barriers elsewhere in society. Advanced technology like the internet shouldn't be used by people who think they don't need vaccinations (hell, those people shouldn't be allowed to have children since they'll just endanger those kids' lives with their backwards way of thinking), politicians shouldn't be able to become state representatives if they can't hang with a grade school science curriculum, and people shouldn't just be able to spit whatever awful thought instantly pops into their head onto the internet. People should have to prove they won't be shit-heads before handling some things. Some barriers in society for people to go over are a good thing; lest we all become those big, fat slobs at the end of Wall-E...

Especially after Gamergate. I can ignore a lot of that racist/misogynist/human garbage-stuff, but not video game stuff. I frequent sites like Kotaku, Giant Bomb, etc. constantly, so holy sh** was that awful to live through. And I'm proud that so many "social justice warriors" came out to fight back; because, at least on some level, we know that we can't give up and let those people rule that conversation. Good voices need to drown it out; there is more good than bad, and it IS a shame (thought I think people recognize on this side of the comments too) that "I enjoy that" usually translates to silence on articles.

The gateway talk briefly touched up on Jason - about how you needed to go write a letter to a newspaper or whatever - is something that I would've loved to see implemented in more things in modern technology. The "dumbing down" of every conversation in society is directly to the rapid eradication of our "gate keepers". The barrier that someone must overcome - shit, even just signing up for an account on a site (which stupid DISQUS and Facebook have largely destroyed) was an effective enough deterrent we can see now. Just that extra bit of time it took was enough to squash that stupid thought. But going ever more, "Instant gratification" is equal parts moving more and more away from "stewing on that idea" and really reflecting upon it.

That's one of the many reasons I hate Twitter. That shit has never once been interested in ELEVATING conversation. If it was, then it would've gone with the opposite idea and instituted a minimum word/character count. Because anyone who's ever sat a test in school and thought to themselves, "I need HOW MANY MORE WORDS for this stupid answer?!" is the same type of idiot who does the dumbest stuff online. So having people just spit out some random letters, misspelled words, hashtags... it just encourages them to spit out whatever half-baked seed of an idea that happens to pop into their dumb little head. It's awful. It's the worst thing to happen to conversation.... that's it. I was going to say, "since (something)", but it doesn't need it. Twitter is bullshit.

It's weird because I just saw on en.rocketnews24.com an article about a girl who created this program called, "Re:Think". An application that simply asks you to re-read something before posting it. They even go into the science a bit about it during her talk - and I quote:

"It was after learning of a particular fact about adolescent brains that she was able to come up with her brilliant idea. The fact is, as our brains develop, they develop from from back to front, the front part of the brain not being fully developed until around age 25. That front part of our brains is what helps us with decision-making. This is why kids are more likely to act on impulses without considering the consequences."

Granted, I'm pretty sure the idea of the computer throwing your comment back in your face before you commit to post it was an idea some web-comic did in jest awhile ago. Still, it made sense back then.

  15. So Old Man Besser - having just learned what a Chatbot is - really doubts that a chatbot will say random stuff like, "I'm a unicorn"? Sounds like he should spend a few minutes talking to Cleverbot.

I just had this conversation right now:

    Conversation.png

lol. Technology angers Besser so much...

Good ep though! I mean, I laugh so hard when Besser goes crazy on "the youth of today". The improvisors here were fantastic and the sketches were hilarious. I'm always going to be tempted to throw a chair through a window whenever I see people dancing now!

  16. Awesome! Nice little change up to hear the Wrestle-talk :)

I did not know that DVK and Dan St. Germain were going to go into this. It's great. It's always fun to hear wrestling fans talk about it in a knowledgeable way. There ARE those young kids and, "It's real to ME, dammit!" fans, but they're such... not representative of what a lot of fans get out of it. Like any other form of entertainment, we know it's fake*, but it's fun following the players you like, and seeing where the puzzle pieces are falling. Unfortunately, the WWE keeps laying these puzzle pieces on the table, and the RIGHT WHEN YOU'RE GONNA FINISH THE PUZZLE, Vince McMahon and everyone else up in the Corporate Office just slam their fist on the table and punch you and say, "You idiot! Why are you wasting your time with this?" and then hand you a different puzzle. Ugh. Very frustrating. Granted, sometimes it's inevitable; when guys get injured, plans change. But a lot of times, it's just stupid.

    * - fake as in predetermined. Let's be honest, and compare it more to stuntman work and/or dancing; it takes both guys to pull off these moves. But they're still physical, you still need to be athletic to do it, and people do retire from injuries and wrestle while injured constantly. It is disingenuous to just blanket statement-it all as, "fake". Really devalues what these guys and gals do in the ring, y'know?

And especially nowadays, where their business plans fall entirely on the WWE Network? And rival promotions like (the MUCH BETTER) Lucha Underground are so easy to find now? It's baffling they do this crap in the DirecTV/internet age where you can catch Ring of Honor, Reality of Wrestling, Global Force Wrestling, New Japan Pro, Shine, Chikara, Dragon Gate, Lucha Underground, etc. online? WWE's method (madness) is really baffling whenever they piss off fans so much, and continue to ignore not just so much talent in their own locker room, but rival promotions who are doing it right.

But a big part of it that I wish they brought up was the Philly crowd. They are some of the most vocal fans and constantly hijack things with cheers. Which, when it's good, is awesome. When it's bad, it's terrible. REALLY feel bad for Roman Reigns at the end of that Rumble. The guy is pretty well-liked, despite his stupid canned insincere promos. He did not deserve the boos he got; those were boos for so much more, but it all got shoveled on him after being all bloody and tired and - realistically - doing a pretty good job in the Rumble match. He is being pushed above other guys who are ready, and everyone can sense that he's not ready and it's not earned, but man - he did not deserve those boos at the end there. They should've finished with the championship match between Cena, Rollins and Lesnar; much better match. All those guys kicked ass and that match told a much better story in the ring.

But yeah, that's too "inside baseball". I just was glad to hear some wrestle-talk. Been awhile :)

Another good ep, you guys! Great music this time too!
