  1. I'm not 100% sure, but I think essentially they'd be ass out. I assume they'd been paid for their drafts up to that point, but by whom isn't totally clear. It's possible Hogan was paying them out of pocket / from his production company and banking on the possibility that they were not registering their drafts with the WGA, so he could eventually claim he'd done the majority of the work and they'd have no reason to side with these largely unknown writers. It sounded like Hogan just wanted credit for ego reasons, but I would guess he was also attempting to cut them out of any money from the theatrical release and home video / future residuals. I doubt that ended up being much money, but at that point Hogan likely thought it would be a big hit.

    Episode 141 — Jersey Bonding

Kulap may not be here for the next couple weeks? Wait, what? :-(
  3. Their fee wouldn't be terribly high on their own as they were just coming off a failed sitcom, whereas Hogan had hit films and award nominations under his belt, so his fee would pull them up as there's shared compensation rules in Hollywood, cause we're all dirty socialists. Check out pages 3 - 4 of this WGA contact if you're super interested: http://www.wga.org/u...llaboration.pdf
  4. Just let me know if you come to Los Angeles - we can go grab a few beers then.
  5. 'Womp it Up' as an animated half hour would be a fucking great show...
  6. Marissa: This is a classy podcast, it always has been... Choctaw: Really?!?

Episode 140 — Scotty Boy, My Special Boy

Yeah, shit's all fucked up at the end. I'm glad someone else noticed - for a second I thought I was super high.
  12. This was one of the best episodes of any podcast that I've listened to in several months. I thought Jake was gonna let go of the format and just have a conversation, which I was ready for and would have been cool with, but he stayed on point. The clip viewings were satisfying, but also organic in a way that fit with Jake and Jimmy's friendship. Really superb job - thanks a lot Jake and the Earwolf team!

Episode 139 — Boring Kanye West

Fantastic job, April! Sadly she forgot, or didn't get the chance to mention, but April has a fun podcast of her own where she and her guest discuss an episode of "Saved by the Bell" they just watched. It's an always enjoyable romp guided by her lovely personality and supportive comedic persona. Go check out 'Go Bayside' here: http://gobayside.tumblr.com/

    Who Memed?

Macros like this were a hit over in the How did this Get Made forum - been meaning to do some for my other favorite shows like Whooch. Including blank templates for others to have fun adding their most treasured sayings of Wee Wee, Ku Ku and Lee. No need to bother with photoshop or graphics editing, btw! Go to a site like quickmeme and upload the template, then add the text you want. copy the url of the final image, and head back here to post for everyone's enjoyment. http://www.quickmeme.com/make/upload/?for=macro

    Episode 67 — Sharknado

Arachnidalanche. There's a fucking avalanche of mutant spiders from the hills of the Hollywood sign down into the city. Disrupted from their podcast taping on Sunset Blvd., the How Did this Get Made crew, with guest Hot Soccermom, navigate the streets crawling with the hideous eight legged monsters to try to find the one man, famed insect and critter wrangler Stanton D. Harrison (played by Harry Dean Stanton), who can proved insight to the living nightmare.

    Live shows at Largo question

People get there a tad early and drink at the bar inside. You can check in and get a good seat assignment, then go eat for sure. Don't worry too much, Largo is a really nice, intimate mid-size venue. Whatever seat you get will be great, and seeing the crew live is really a lot of fun.

    Live shows at Largo question

Of the nearby parking options, I tend to just park at the Beverly Center and walk over. I think they have parking at the theater, but it might be valet? It's always seemed like a hassle to me, so I've always avoided it and parked at the mall. If you're looking for food options, there are plenty nearby. I'd recommend Real Food Daily - the Vegan place a few doors down. It's delicious. Or, if you're super into meat, Lawry's Prime Rib is a Mile or two down La Cienega. Not within walking distance like RFD, but well worth it. Or, if you're looking for cheap, filling, and within walking distance of both the Beverly Center and Largo, there's a Souplantation across the street from the mall. I love that place.
