    EPISODE 107.5 β€” Minisode 107.5

Haha - totally rad to be the winner of nothing for C&O! Loved hearing Paul say my name over and over. Glad he was as amused about that as I was. I only wish I was cool/nerdy enough to be the person actually messing with those wikipedia entries. Con Air is a ridiculous goddamn movie of epic proportions. Looking forward to it.
  2. I am not responisble for this, but I had to post it because I almost died when I read it:
  3. I don't comment on the forums too much, but goddamn I had to come here to give props to my man Engineer Cody Cody. "To make oneself legendary through one's own incompetence is divine." I think Shakespeare said that or maybe Mozart. Five Stars.
  4. Yeah, I'd agree that it's basically flawless. I've grown a bit tired of U2 as I get older, but I still reference UF as one of my favorite all-time albums. I'm about the same age as Adam, and my experience with the band seems to parallel his. This podcast is awesome and brings back a lot of memories for me.
  5. This happened to my last MacBook, but it swelled up and like punched through the bottom corner instead of the trackpad. It continued to work, but had to always be plugged in.
  6. Yeezus is a pretty obvious rip-off of the Death Grips sound masquerading as Kanye being 'experimental'. He did not create this sound, and had hardly a hand in the production, either. Death Grips' "Government Plates" album from last month (released for free, BTW) is light years ahead of Yeezus in terms of new, dark sounding stuff. They beat Kanye at his own game of ripping them off by upstaging him with a newer-sounding album for the end of this year. Plus the "rapping" (if you can call it that) on Yeezus is terrible, and the lyrics sound like they were written by a 12-year-old. Kanye is a narcissistic douchebag with possible other mental disorders, who creates mediocre music AT BEST. He's really pulled one over on everybody with this Yeezus crap. There are a hundred better albums that came out this year.
  7. I thought this year was amazing for new music. I bought a LOT of albums. Here are a few (note, my taste skews electronic, but not totally): Jon Hopkins – Immunity Deafheaven - Sunbather Steve Hauschildt – S/H Tim Hecker – Virgins Oneotrix Point Never – R Plus Seven Roomrunner - Ideal Cities The Field – Cupid’s Head Dawn of midi - Dysnomia Julianna Barwick – Napenthe Baths – Obsidian Boards of Canada – Tomorrow’s Harvest Alessandro Cortini – Forse 1 Knife – Shaking the Habitual Erika – Hexagon Cloud Fuck Buttons – Slow Focus Matmos – The Marriage of True Minds Pharmakon – Abandon
  8. This is a stellar album, but I must point out that on this one Ty is actually the drummer! That other dude Charlie is the riff-master.

Episode 71 β€” The Glimmer Man

I saw this movie with my buddies when it came out. We went to a drive-in (which was a novelty, even then), and dropped acid. It was LITERALLY one of the greatest movie experiences of my life. I'm so stoked they chose this one.
  10. I was totally going to try putting a pepper seed in my pee-hole later, but now I know better. Thanks for the tip!
  11. Crazy rainbow lady is pretty rad. !
  12. Not the newest, but this one still cracks me up.
  13. This episode was great - McKay's director-y set-ups are amazing. A little weirded out by the Pepsi ads though. Are we seeing the dawn of the corporate takeover of podcasts?
  14. YLT need to get some sort of trophy for being the most charmingly chilled-out people on the planet. I had to listen to their music right after hearing the podcast. Who doesn't love those guys? So great that they were on. In other news: PFT hit it out of the EFFING PARK w/ the Herzog character out of nowhere. Dude is supernatural or something. Probably powerful. @CrustyDustReceptacle - I think the Zach thing is sort of his 'character', yeah? Auckerman just plays into it really hard. They've worked together a lot and I think they probably both know what's going on. I enjoyed it, regardless.
