  1. The boys got a mention here about podcasts to listen to across 24 topics or some shit, whatever. Check it:

    Hollywood: "Hollywood Handbook"

In “Hollywood Handbook,” Hayes Davenport and Sean Clements are stereotypical “A-list 'It'-boy” actors/writers/directors, with the one small caveat being that they’re not. Davenport and Clements are, in fact, two real television writers playing hilariously deadpan characters on a podcast that on the surface aims to help others break into showbiz, but in reality is effective satire of the fame game. Their characters spend time topping each other’s braggadocio, while their IRL-insider perspective makes their improvised send-ups all too real; even their comedian guests, who are almost always a “close friend,” have a hard time not cracking.

Also, while you're there, here's Mr. Schmidt talking about a drillbit dildo: http://www.vulture.c...lbit-dildo.html

Keep it tuned to Vulture.com for all your pop culture needs!!!!

  2. Now before this gets too out of hand, just everyone remember that Scott provides upwards of 4 hours of free* content for you each week and you have no right to be even the slightest bit critical here in the amazing, nurturing Hollywood Handbook forums OR there at the sycophant central CBB board. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT.

  3. Speaking of cool, I got the number of a drug dealer for the first time from a coworker. How do I let this guy know I'm cool? Some kind of hat? Should I fake an accent? I don't want to seem like a narc.

Fuckin' guy posts like gangbusters for a week or two and then vanished and now suddenly is back and asking questions about breaking the law? You ask me, he's been turned and this is a sting operation. This rat is gonna try and get us all RICO'd.

  4. The company I work for announced an unprecedented number of layoffs today. Tragically, I was not one of them.

What's a gal gotta do to collect some unemployment up in here? Work is cutting into my podcast time.

I was laid off once. It was a glorious 10 month windfall of free time that I told myself was going to be spent writing but was instead spent sleeping until 2 and then playing goddamned Assassin's Creed. I'm sorry you missed the cut this time but hey there's always another round right around the corner, right?

  5. Man, this season has, like, my favorite Survivor castaway (Savage, who got screwed in Pearl Islands by the goddamn scab Outcasts tribe) and possibly my most hated (the wholly unlikable Kass). I managed to rope in my girlfriend to watch this season, with no previous Survivor experience, and she enjoyed the first episode! So that's good! She's all-in on Kelley Wentworth and I think I might be too, as far as most appealing castaway. Was that one of the draft choices? No? oh. Also - great, great twist on the increasingly tiresome hidden immunity idol.

Jeff Varner is relatable, in that if you showed some clips of me from 2000 and then showed clips of me today in 2015, you would totally note the bloat. While I generally enjoyed his "The game has changed so much since I played" narrative -- like a man transported from the 1950s to an America with phones that can deposit checks -- as greggy said in his v. good blog post, he really fuckin' went to that well a little too often.

  6. Hollywood Handbook: I just love it so much. I wish there were more people in San Diego that listened but well I guess all the listenership is concentrated in fucking New England and Pittsburgh apparently.

Never Not Funny: Hopped on board when it became part of Earwolf; I dug the audio a lot but decided to join the Players Club and that really raised it to the next level. You don't realize how much of the show you miss when you're just getting audio. It's a fucking commitment to WATCH 4 hours of video podcast a week, and when I finally started listening to Hollywood Handbook, so many episodes piled up unwatched but I'm catching up now by putting it on when I'm playing video games (PS4: Touchy_Seeley, you want some, shithead?) and it's a fun way to pass the time. Yeah, it's just guys talking with no real rhyme or reason but not everything has to have some high concept, you fucking child.

Comedy Bang Bang: Biggest casualty of my burning hot love of Hollywood Handbook. I haven't listened to an episode since the ep the boys were on. I can't imagine going back to listening to it anymore, I just can't. Also, god, their forum is just awful.

I don't really listen to any other podcasts regularly. Oh, U Talkin' U2 To Me or whatever is cute, I guess.

  7. In my other league I play in with some idiot coworkers, I managed to win my game this week despite having four guys in my lineup put up 0 points, which doesn't say much for me as a team owner but says even less for the poor bastard I destroyed.

That was literally the least interesting and important sentence ever posted on these forums (not including anything posted in the Kevin Pollak's Chat Show area)
