Yes, otherwise known as the 'Mike Love Has Not A Single Ounce Of Shame Era'.
-
Yeah, they covered The Safari's Wipe Out with the Beach Boys (or the thing we were calling the Beach Boys at the time).
-
RE: The Fat Boys, I remember liking them as a kid and when I dug through my 45s sure enough...

One of the oddest toy tie-ins I remember from the 80s were Beetlejuice toys. It wasn't an R-rated flick, but it was still fairly adult so in retrospect it seemed a bit weird.

Stone Cold (1991)

Aww, I was hoping this was a Stone Cold Steve Austin biopic. -
That's why the only Nightmare movie I actually like is New Nightmare. It's basically a rough draft for Scream, but in retrospect I like it better than Scream tbh.

Yes! Sweet victory at last! I've been waiting for this one for a while.

As long as we get Pete Holmes back I'm down.

Sexy, sexy murder

Franco has played a bad guy in quite a few things. Even on General Hospital he was a serial killer.

That's the thing, even the most 'overhyped' episodes will still deliver the goods. The only really unwatchable episodes are the KTMA/Weinstein episodes. And even those have some funny bits.
-
I actually think Space Mutiny is probably the most overhyped, but even then it's still hilarious. 'Blast Thickneck! Beat Punchmeat! Big McLargehuge!'
-
I have to admit I loved the Twilight riffs. 'Line? Line?' I'm not totally averse to them covering newer movies, I just thought they started pushing it with the volume of material and when they started doing 'good' movies like Raiders or Wrath of Khan.

The biggest problem with the movie is that it's slow. The quips don't come at nearly the speed they do in the show, so you get a bit anxious as a long-time fan because you're hearing more silence than you're used to. It's still funny, it's just not as funny as it could have been. And Cinematic Titanic is definitely worth checking out. One of my favorites is the live version of East Meets Watts. They don't do them as often so they have a higher batting average than say Rifftrax. Rifftrax is still good, I'm not crazy about the ones where they do 'good' movies, but any of the shorts are gold.

I looooooove MST3K. I think Paul mentioned they were trying to get some of the guys on as guests. Favorite Eps: 1)Pod People 2)Overdrawn at the Memory Bank 3)Mitchell 4)Fugitive Alien ("He tried to kill me with a forklift!") 5)Devil Doll

This might possibly be the greatest movie ever made.

Totally fair and a good perspective to have. Unfortunately, I have no pain medication so I will undoubtedly remain as grouchy and unpleasant as ever.
-
Yeah, I was familiar with him as Mr Oizo before I knew he directed this. Not a fan of any of his creative projects, to be honest.
-
In that all his films are exceedingly tedious and unengaging, yes.
-
This would have worked as a 5-minute short. As a 90-minute film, it's a joke that wasn't that funny in the first place that goes on waaaaay too long. That it was directed by a French DJ almost seems too on the nose.

I definitely heard a 'Jesus!'

I'm sure they also benefited from a September release, and the fact that August was full of bombs (City of Bones, Percy Jackson, etc.). I seem to remember a similar thing happening with The Words last year.

This is definitely a weird sort of pivot point in Murphy's career, because after this it's all stuff like Dr Doolittle and Nutty Professor.

I was just thinking about this one today. I wouldn't call it amazingly bad as I think it's pretty freakin' awesome. It's done in a similar spirit to Army of Darkness. It feels like Raimi's demo reel for Spiderman. Tons of stuff to chew on for the show. It's weird to think that just a few years later its two stars would be A-listers (Neeson & McDormand).

They're under the Disney umbrella, but Pixar is its own thing. Disney has their own animation studio, and they are the ones that made Planes. They just advertised in such a way that it made it seem like it was a Pixar thing.
