  1. I totally disagree. In particular Superman 4 is botched on every level, with degraded special effects and edited to the point of incomprehension. Shots were re-used in order to slap together something to resemble a film. You could see the wire used to make it look like Reeve was flying in two different scenes, not to mention that a visible platform he was on. Gene Hackman and Margot Kidder's total disinterest was noticeable in every scene they were in.

Even the screenwriter Mark Rosenthal said the film was in effect the producers betraying Christopher Reeve.

In short, the only thing IV was trying to be was a cash grab.

Superman 3 is bad. Superman 4 is among the worst films ever made.

  2. I've mentioned it before, but I gotta say, damn I'm glad these mini-episodes don't sound like dogshit anymore.

Hey now, Paul is completely dedicated to the show and to we the fans. If that means he has to record an episode from inside an airport bathroom or the trunk of his car, then by god he'll do it!

  3. Yeah, I remember loving it when I first saw it but I was a teenager and I loved all the crazy twists and I don't wanna seem shallow but there was Denise Richards and Neve Campbell, naked in a pool and making out. And I remember, at some point after the 4-th or 5-th twist Kevin Bacon flashed his penis for no real reason.

This is a highly accurate plot summary for this movie.

  4. I saw it when it came out, and pretty much everyone I knew was seeing it for the threesome, not because it was a brilliantly written screenplay. I didn't know any of the twists going in, and I actually found them increasingly ridiculous (though admittedly entertaining). It's all a bit OTT, which I can buy as being on purpose, but some of it is just too outlandish. I think there's plenty to chew on here, and I'd love to hear June's thoughts on some of the sexual politics at play. Roger Ebert's thoughts pretty much match my own: "It's like a three-way collision between a softcore sex film, a soap opera and a b-grade noir."

The sequels seem like a waste of time, as they were all direct-to-video. Plus they're just kind of the same story over and over again.

  5. What I'm amazed by is that they haven't edited the original autobiography and re-released it to coincide with this movie coming out. Also I love that the Mario actor just decides to start doing push-ups while the girls battle over who's in the center of the picture.

I kind of wonder if they can't, especially since Diamond admitted a lot of stuff in the book was made up (though he tried to blame it all on a ghost writer).

  6. This has been playing lately on IFC and I had honestly forgotten all about it. Much like Color of Night, it was more famous for its sex scenes than its story. But it's a pretty wacky erotic thriller. Admittedly, it's probably one of Denise Richards better performances, but that's not exactly a strong recommendation. The plot is utter nonsense, with so many reversals and twists it would make M Night dizzy. I think this would be a fun one.

  7. "Yeah, I don't remember it as being the bad experience he claims to have had."

Yes, how surprising that the kid who was much younger than the rest of his co-stars had a worse time than the guy who was fucking all of his female co-stars. I notice Breckin can't help revealing his own insecurity.

According to Dustin he was too busy sleeping with 2000 women to have a bad time.

  8. I mean there were screams of horror online for Wonder Woman's outfit, which I actually like, so just imagine what it will be like for a full on movie.

I get why people have issues with it. It is basically Xena's outfit and is not recognizable as WW in any way. But maybe it will work in the movie. Synder just seems afraid of primary colors.

  9. I can't believe no-one has talked about the post-credits sequence of Guardians of the Galaxy!!!

I don't want to give anything away but a certain feathered Marvel character makes an unexpected appearance!

I loved it. Especially since I think it was basically an April Fool's joke Marvel was playing on us.

  10.

Yeah, I was hoping she would do it for Go Bayside!, but this would be amazing. I know she's doing the series finale for Podfest in September, which would have been a logical time to do this 'movie'.

Speaking of which, if anyone hasn't listened to the latest episode of Go Bayside with Hot Saucerman, do so immediately. It is fabulous. I didn't think PFT's episodes could be topped, but I think Scotty Too Hotty might have done it.

  11. Oh, I disagree about Agent Carter. I am really looking forward to that show. Plus they've got Dominic Cooper back as Howard Stark. How can you not be interested in essentially a 1940s X-Files?

I also don't agree about female superhero films. GOTG's audience was 44% female. Comics are only a man's world behind-the-scenes - this myth about a lack of female nerds is just silly. And come on, who outside of the comics world had ever in their lives heard of Guardians of the Galaxy? I even know comic nerds who didn't really know who they were. And the current lineup didn't even appear in comics until 2008, so it doesn't have the same cache with older fans that Avengers did. If you can give a good story to a walking plant & a talking raccoon, surely you can give a female superhero a good story?

This is just a silly as DC claiming Wonder Woman is 'hard to do'. No she's not. She's Wonder Woman! Give her a lasso & a brightly-colored uniform and she'll do the rest.

  12. Guardians 2 is already listed for the July 28, 2017, but it still lends credence to the idea that at least 1-2 new unannounced characters will be introduced to build up Avengers 3. My feeling is that they will be single characters rather than more teams as it will be such an overload if Avengers 3 comes around and you have the Avengers, Guardians, Thunderbolts, Runaways, Inhumans, and others all vying for screen time.

I agree I'm just saying they have even more room since in those 2 years they're expanding to 3 movies a year instead of 2. I'm sure Thor 3 will take one of those spots...maybe an Ant-Man 2 if that ends up being popular. So I'm hopeful we're looking at Black Panther and maybe a Black Widow movie, though I have a feeling they're going to leave her where she's at with supporting roles in Avengers and The Cap series. In which case a Captain Marvel movie would be cool. They could always seed that in GOTG 2 since she's a Kree.

  13. there is room for one more movie in 2017 and 2018 each as Kevin Feige wants two Marvel films per year.

Actually in 2017/18 they're doing 3 films a year, so there's plenty of room for new characters. The lineup looks like this so far:

    2015

May 1: The Avengers: Age of Ultron

    July 17: Ant-Man

    2016

    May 6: Captain America 3

    July 8: Doctor Strange

    2017

    May 5: Untitled

July 27: Untitled (Probably GOTG 2)

    November 3: Untitled

    2018

May 4: Untitled (Probably Avengers 3)

    July 6: Untitled

    November 2: Untitled

    2019

    May 3: Untitled
