Hey Guys, Without meaning to slight David or Tig, whose stand-up acts I have not gotten to see in person yet, I have to rave a bit about how great Kyle's performance on Saturday night was! I know a casino is not the comic's ideal venue, but Kyle (and headliner Sarah Silverman) made the most of it! Kyle did a killer 30-40 minute set starting with a "visit" from Craig. Craig did a few jokes, some crowd work and his impression of Bill Mahr! Awesome. Then Kyle proceeded to riff and play and destroy the crowd. I had seen his Comedy Central special, which is great, but this was all new material and was super-funny. My wife, who had never heard of Kyle, loved him. We both laughed A LOT! My wife was especially impressed by Kyle's massive biceps and calves. I know Kyle's MOTHER and family were in attendance and I am sure they enjoyed the evening. He had all 1500 people in the place rocking! Do yourself a favor and go see him if you get the chance. You will not be sorry. I have to get his CD, "Wait, There's More" so I can enjoy more of his wit and humor. Kyle is terrific with Tig and David every week and we get a sample of his great impressions and spontaneous humor. It is wonderful to see him showcase that on his own as well! (If David and Tig will perform in the area, I'll be at their shows (and post my raves) too!) Well, that's been comment.

Episode 64 โ Tig's Cancer Diagnosis/Autism
syates59 replied to admin's topic in Professor Blastoff
Once again it was a joy to be a guest on Professor Blastoff! We recorded this one prior to the release of the previous episode, so I was caught completely unprepared for Tigโs announcement. It was stunning. But her grace and strength were even more stunning. That kind of courage is very rare indeed. It has been great to see so many tweets from so many fans and entertainers supporting Tig and expressing love to her. I know not everyone prays, but I ask those who do to pray hard for her and those who donโt to send positive thoughts and love. Since Tig is not on twitter, use @blastoffpodcast to get your message to her. Special thanks to my wife and son for letting me share our story with the world. To anyone dealing with autism, you are not alone. There is hope. Keep searching for the therapies that work for you and keep loving and hoping. Thanks to Tig, Kyle, David and Aaron for inviting me back down into the hatch. I love all of you. It is a big deal for me to participate in a podcast I enjoy so much every week. It really makes me feel special. And to the folks that enjoyed my little appearances, thank you for your kind words. Well, thatโs been comment. Follow me on Twitter @StevenEYates- 19 replies

We all love you, Tig. (Yes, you guys too.) Let those of us who pray, pray HARD for healing and recovery for our dear friend. And those of us who don't pray, think good thoughts and send out positive energy to her. It's easy to tell when someone has a good heart. Tig's good-natured humor is a gift to us all and we want to give back. I am asking Kyle, David and Aaron to hug Lil' Tig for me. She could not ask for better friends than those guys, but there are legions more out here who want to lift her up until she is well. May God bless all in the hatch! xxoo

Lukas, I am feeling you, man. Ouch.

I really enjoyed this episode (even as I am angling to get on another episode myself). I was reminded of the two years I spent in England when I discovered they have a whole set of "famous" people most Americans have never heard of! I had to learn who these "famous" people were, their back-story, etc. It showed me that fame was so relative. A year or so ago, I stopped listening to the Howard Stern Show and started listening to comedy podcasts and again discovered a whole new group of "famous" people, namely the "alt-comedians". I had never heard of Tig, Kyle and David (or Aaron) then, but now they are HUGE celebrities to me. Fame really is in the eye of the beholder. I was very bummed to hear about Scott's negative experiences with being stalked and harassed (but happy to hear he's paid off one of Kulap's boobs). There is definitely a negative side to fame in this day and age. A friend of mine is a great guitarist who has performed with many of the world's biggest acts (including Julian Lennon!). My friend told me about English singer Robbie Williams who is a HUGE star in Britain, but mostly unknown in the US. He said after their show, he was able to walk out into the crowd and the streets unbothered, but Williams had to sneak out in a limo with blacked-out windows and spend the rest of the night alone. Williams is wealthy, but has no freedom, due to his fame. Sad, in a way. I agree with the PB guys that the level of fame they have is maybe about the best as they are mostly known by fans who love their work and don't want anything from them. Welp, that's been comment.

Guys, mlb.com says there have been 15 unassisted triple plays in history. Wikipedia says there have been 16 four homer games. Just obnoxiously saying... Love the country and the county.

Finally, an episode I enjoyed more than the one I was on! I actually had an email of mine read on Sklarbro Country, so I feel linked to all concerned. (#boastfulbrag) Never have five comedians meshed so well and riffed so successfully as in this episode. The Dueling Carsons and Dueling Foxworthys were so funny it hurt! And yes, I loved David's beach poop confession. I have met the Sklars at a live show in NYC and they are every bit as nice as they seem. Even though I have listened to every episode of their podcast and most of their appearances elsewhere, I learned new things about them in this episode. I hope that everyone who reads this gives Sklarbro Country (and County) a listen and give United Stats of America a viewing. These guys are two unique comic voices and I would love to see them hit big just I would Tig, Kyle and David. Of all the times I have wished I was down in the hatch, today tops them all. I also note how gracefully Aaron hung back, not an easy thing to do. Four stars. Full marks. The funniest comedy podcast I can remember. Well, that's been comment.

i LOVED THIS EPISODE! There was so much love in the hatch and so much foolishness and fun. This is the number one reason that Professor Blastoff is my favorite podcast. I enjoy the science/philosophy/esoterica episodes, but it is the closeness of the three (now four, since Aaron has stepped up) friends that I love. I wish I could be in the hatch and jam and riff with them (as if I could keep up). They are all unique comic voices who just draw you in and pummel you with weird ideas, call backs, voices, improv and silliness. Did I say I wish I could be one of them yet? Oh, yeah, I did. I am so glad to hear Tig sounding so great (I love her singing voice.) and her new project sounds like it is going to be super! Kyle and David just tore it up with funny voices and ideas and songs. And Aaron's time machine may become a staple of the show! Swamp Rock! References to MOTHER! This one had it all! Well, that's been comment!

What a great episode! On topic. No attack on religion. Amazing Donald Trump impression (sounded only a little like Craig) by the hilarious Kyle Dunnigan! AND A POEM!!! And the teeth characters. I love all of the gang! So great to hear Tig. David (Dodo) is a joy. Aaron has grown into a great asset to the show. I want a Professor Blastoff tour!!!!!! Come to Connecticut!!! Is it wrong to want to hug a hatch? Then I don't want to be right! Well, that's been comment.

As I was listening to this episode, I really just wanted to hug all of the guys (and especially the girl). Even though it was a โtopic-lessโ episode, it was really about loss and grieving. I will resist my inclination to make this about me or to invoke my religious faith and just say how special it was to be let into the inner feelings of Tig, Kyle, David and Aaron this week. First, Tig, I am so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine the shock and sadness you have gone through and will continue to deal with. To have that on top of your illness is really almost more than one could bear. I am sending you all my love and best wishes as you recover. You are a remarkably strong person to have dealt with that all mostly on your own. I could never have done that. To Kyle, David and Aaron, thank you for being there for Tig. She is lucky to have such wonderful, supportive friends. Kyle, you must be an unbelievably supportive person to have been there on the phone with TIg when her mom passed. Your story about your father was terribly sad. I choked back tears several times as I listened. Loss and grieving and mourning are things that we must all go through, but are seldom spoken about. I am sure that this episode will be a comfort to the listeners now and in the future. Well, I think Iโll put on my calba-hat, wrangle my baby teeth and get a ruth canal. Mostively, that is what I wanted to say. Long distance hugs to all in the hatch. Well, that's been comment.

Anyone see the Sklars on the United Stats of America?
syates59 replied to Armando13's topic in Sklarbro Country
As a devoted citizen of Sklarbro Country, I am eagerly awaiting approval of my visa to commute weekly to the United Stats of America. If it is approved, I will thank my lucky Sklars! Zoom! -
I really enjoyed this episode, although I miss Tig and hope she is feeling better! Christina did a GREAT job! She got out a lot of good scientific info. And she was funny and charming too! I was so happy to get a "shout out" from the guys at the end of the episode. As I have mentioned before, I an a devout Greek Orthodox Christian who is a scientist and engineer. IMHO religion is about belief based on faith. I don't find scientific knowledge and faith incompatible. Good luck to Dustin in his new endeavors.

1. I am missing Tig and praying for her and her family. Please take take the time you need and come back to PB when you can. 2. As you can tell from #1 above, I am religious (Greek Orthodox) but I am not offended by discussions of atheism or even the "preaching of atheism". I thought Aaron did a good job as, seemingly, the only religious person in the room. That is not easy. 3. Kyle's mother is a GEM! She tipped us all to Kyle's new character "Greg". Can't wait for that! I apologize to Kyle that when she said, jokingly, that she was not wearing anything, my mind immediately imagined it. I am ashamed. 4. "Shame Hut" is my new favorite song. Followed by "Abortion Hut (No Baby)" and "Memory Hut". I am waiting for a Swamp Rock version of "Shame Hut". Kyle is so funny! 5. Perception is an amazing topic, especially as it relates to humor. Myq Kaplan is a great comic and had some interesting mushroom insights. I am jealous of Myq because his episode was extended to a two-parter! Maybe I'll get asked back for another shot at an environmental topic (HINT, HINT) Well, that's been comment.

Hey Guys, I understand that PB is doing a "clip show" for #50. Here are some of my favorites. I'd be happy to be a phone guest, if that was wanted. 1. Sustainability - Steven Yates (1st "swamp rock"!!) 2. Creativity - Paul F. Thompkins 3. Sexual Attraction - Sarah Silverman 4. Altered States - Doug Benson 5. Fate - Nick Kroll Steven Yates p.s. Yes, I voted for myself. I love the show!

Sklarbro Country LIVE @ SXSW! Audio AND Video available NOW!
syates59 replied to Shannon's topic in Sklarbro Country
Just watched the live Sklarbro Country from SXSW with my 21 year old daughter. So great! Just brings home all the things I love about the show. My daughter (along with Jason and Randy) is my guide to indie music. I interpret the sports references for her. It is just a wonderful thing to share. She is a video production (communications) major at Hofstra and pointed out the random crowd shots and wide/tight shot selection. We loved Gar Ryness' contributions, but she wondered why he was onscreen for the whole show. Not criticism, just funny things to riff about for us (in the style of Cheap Seats!). Love to all. The family that Sklars together...har-dee-har-hars together! Henderson! Osbaldiston! Punching waterfalls! -
How many of you are watching the Point/Point videos on Jockular?

These videos are SO FUNNY! This should be a weekly series! The only reason this has not BLOWN UP is that it is not well advertised. I have told all 28 of my Twitter followers!- 2 replies

Happy Birthday to the beautiful, sweet, smart and funny Tig Notaro! You are the cherry on top of the Professor Blastoff Sundae! I have laughed hard at all of the comedy I have heard you do. I hope to meet you at a live show (if you ever come out east) and ask for a hug. Many happy returns and continued success in the business! You are a joy! LOVE, Steven Green Circle Award Winner
-
I have to share this. I went to a meeting Tuesday night. I was afraid it would run long and interfere with the big PBO tweet-up. It was a natural/historical lecture about a local Connecticut lighthouse. As I was looking at the display, before the lecture, I was stunned to see that the "Friends of Hammonassett", the sponsor of the meeting, had won a GREEN CIRCLE AWARD!!! This is only the second one I have ever seen! I thought it was funny because my "claim to PBO fame" is based on my Green Circle Award.

Lukas, you may be right! I had a concussion after a fall a year ago. No symptoms at first then several weeks of off and on dizziness and vertigo attacks that would almost cripple me. I was so glad when they passed. I am praying for Kyle to recover quickly. I liked the episode a lot. It sounded like David, Chris and Tig are really good friends. Made me happy to hear them relate to each other. As far as art goes, I am not any kind of expert, but I know what I like. Everybody gets his (OR HER) opinion. It seemed like the episode went by very quickly! And no call to MOTHER or SWAMP ROCK! Maybe next time. Loved the new turkey talk feature. I had so much fun tweeting and messaging with my fellow (AND FELLA) Blastronauts (AND BLASTRO-NETTES). I even got a nice shout out from Dustin, who is the engineer for PBO and Sklarbro Country (and other Earwolf shows). So many nice people associated with PBO. Love to all.

It's so tough not listening to this, but it will be fun to share the experience with fellow Blastronauts (or Blastronettes) tonight! Can't wait to hear Kyle call MOTHER! And didn't Chris Fairbanks share a bachelor pad with a certain Mr. Suntsberger??? Could be tales of cool beer! And maybe Tig's cajun character will turn up!

It was another case of Instant Sklarma! Where to begin? Wahlberg phone message only lacked him calling himself Mark "Effing" Walhberg. Graham Elwood eating the noisiest food ever in the background was so funny. I love knowing the guest is sitting there as the first segment is played out. The Massachusetts girls' hockey story with the laser-blinded goalie and crazy father is insane on so many levels. Girls' ice hockey? So irresponsible to risk blinding a child over a meaningless game! The sanctioning body is aware of the potential for permanent damage to a student and allows the other team to win?!? I kept picturing the gender-bent "Hanson Sisters" from Slapshot. But the topper for me was Earl "From Toshiba" Christiansen. You have to dig deep in the Cheap Seats archives for a more obscure reference. (FCU-ICU, anyone?) The multiple hats. The Garvey short shorts-a-lanche. A Ron Masak reference! OMG! I am still laughing. If the Cheap Seats DVDs never come out, the guys have GOT TO hold a Sklarbro Country Club Cheap Seats Pro-Am Golf-Frisbee-Skiing-Bowling-Corporate Games! Floorwax. Earl. Garvey. Beamy. Petersen. "Chrissy Konamacky". I would pay to see it! I love Ran and Jay so much and this podcast is so great. OSBALDISTON to all!!!
