  1. Seriously. I liked Highlander when I was in high school (ca. 1991) but his movies are sooooo shitty. The acting, the writing, the cinematography are always crap (and really, no offense to industry people who do those things for a living, by associating your work with his movies).

    Southland Tales (2006)

Not to defend it too much, but IIRC it's supposed to be the middle of a graphic novel/movie/interactive website trilogy which is why it makes little to no sense on its own. The Killers song was what was on his iPod when his friend got killed in a helicopter attack in Iraq. He blames himself and is addicted to some vaporized drug thing, and this scene takes place just after he bumps some of the hardest stuff that's available. I liked the movie, but then I tend to genuinely enjoy bizarre even when it's bad, just because it's not the same cookie cutter bullshit that Hollywood usually produces. I would like to hear it on the podcast though I'm interested to hear how Foxtrot1's encounter with Richard Kelly turned out.

Zach and Miri Make a Porno

Or maybe Kevin Smith movies are too easy? I like the guy's work, but I don't think he should be on the pedestal most fanboys put him on, nor should he be relegated to the gutter where most critics would put him. He has no aspirations, aside from getting high and masturbating (and possibly having sex with his wife who no longer looks like a concentration camp survivor-- See Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back for her more skeletal work). His work demonstrates his lack of ambition.

    Wild Wild West (1999)

Agreed. Even Ms Hayek's ample cleave is not enough to redeem this in the slightest.

Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day

I liked the first one, but yeah #2 was #2. It was like a parody of itself. Having seen "Overnight," BS2 made me wish the director was NOT just paranoid and that someone actually followed through with a murder plot.
