    DOA: Dead or Alive (2006)

Yeah they made a movie about boobs and volleyball boring! It doesn't stand to reason but they manged it.

    The Phantom Menace 3d

I head that Lucas added subliminal cuts into the 3D to erase your negative thoughts about the other two movies.. if you are fool enough to see it.

    Constantine (2005)

There was so much to loathe in the movie even if you weren't a fanboy annoyed at a horribly miscast Keanu. Shia being, an early, and just as obnoxious as always self and possibly the worst singer turned attempted actor in Gavin Rossdale.. as he stumbles through trying to look menacing while flicking his chin and delivering lines like the cuecard is just out of vision. But yes its a guilty pleasure... double the Weisz! Buy one you got another free.. and god damn if she isn't just so sexy and pouty, without actually pouting. rerr rerr... hubba hubba. etc etc. I love that scene in the bath as she looks questioningly at him from under water. And that opening with the demon.. that was really cool and the use of that cigarrette as a visual prop was superb. The burning city of Diss with bisected faced demons. Swinton as an androgynous angel.. she always rocks in those awkward roles. And by no means least that god of devilishness Stormare as the very Devil himself. My all time favorite portrayal of his naughtiness on film. From his cancerous, ichor-dripping entrance to his annoyed temporary defeat. Delicious!

    Freejack (1992)

When you cast Jagger in any role above wall hangings you know you are in trouble.. and i heard they desperately wanted him for Pirates OTC 3.. Nuff said.

    Righteous Kill (2008)

A very fair call indeed.. terrible movie seemingly of two rambling and confused old men who, for some reason, refuse to share the screen together (and have to be poorly photoshopped to appear in close proximity on the cover) heel-drag their way through utter pointless schlock. You just end-up wanting both of them getting shot.

Any pre-Hollywood Jackie Chan movie gets an automatic pass in my book.. every post Hollywood Jackie Chan is more than fair game.

JCVD .. isn't that the new format to replace HDDVD?

    Super Mario Bros.

Bob Hoskins.. he as one of The most bad-ass gangsters in The Long Good Friday.. reduced to being the British Danny DeVito. What happened! oh right.. Rodger Rabbit happened too.

    Southland Tales (2006)

We need to keep this topic hot so it gets a fair chance at being reviewed on the show.. more people need to feel our pain and lose 2hours+ to the movie so they can share in that pain. PS I highly recommend buying the movie second hand so as not to fuel Kelly into thinking he made a cult film on DVD.

    Hudson Hawk

Oh I agree whole heartedly.. I only recently got to see this masterpiece and had just happened to read about it around the same time as i was reading "With Nails" and Grant's thoughts on what a mess the production was. Watching it reminded me of those bad parody movies like Top Secret, Hot shots etc.. that where just bad and knew they were bad and yet still kinda fun to watch knowing it was bad. Hawk seemed to want to be cool while doing the same thing. Tales of Cage wanting to switch roles in Trespass seem almost tame by comparison. As bad as Top Secret was I still love the scene they did all in reverse.. now that took some effort and imagination, not to mention the best reverse acting since Bruce Campbell.

    Jack and Jill (2011)

View the Half in the Bag episode over at Red Letter Media to hear the most scathing review of this turd and they even go so far as to call Sandler out as a liar and all but a thief over the inexplicable $80M budget. One of the most joyful vidcasts I have ever witnessed. http://www.redlettermedia.com/half-in-the-bag/jack-and-jill

Short Circuit 1 or 2...or both!

Fair enough.. how about Jason appearing in the possible remake as Ben Jabituya/Jahrvi.. i could totally see that... Input Stephanie... hehehehe (titters to self) hehe.. titters.
  14. It is mindbogglingly poor for sure. A lot of podcasts have covered the film just for its shockingly poor story, dialogue and ending. Oddly effective early kills do help you think this might be good but without a triffid in sight they were doomed after that.

    Next (2007)

The fact that it sets up rules and then just starts breaking those rules is so annoying and childish. Despite the ending there was some fun elements that reminded me of the far more elegant plot of Paycheck which similarly had a great plot about predictions but then failed to apply them in a fun manner. The hill chase in Next was good but just not clever enough to save the whole thing from a catastrophically poor finale.

    Orphan (2009)

Certainly a poor twist ending you see coming and rather heavy handed at that but the acting was really good i thought and as a horror movie it had some tense scenes that worked. I agree with the luminous paint thing.. that should have been setup better but was still an effective scene showing the state of her mind. As for subject matter: adoptions shouldn't be taken lightly and there are plenty of real world examples far more horrifying than those in the movie. I don't see a problem with it as a basis for a plot and if anything it also highlights the terrible mess of foreign agencies where Westerners travel to in hopes of less rigorous adoption systems.

    Spun

Spun is one of the worst and most childish movies I've ever seen. As per usual you can tell a music video directors early movies as they have inexplicably good actors and try far too hard to make a terrible plot interesting with visual tricks. And the cast is amazing: Jason Schwartzman, John Leguizamo, Mena Suvari, Patrick Fugit, Brittany Murphy, Mickey Rourke, Peter Stormare, Deborah Harry, Eric Roberts, how or why they agreed can only be justified by financial motivation and the flick was a massive bomb. Watching Spun is like watching a dog with Tourette-rabies. Every drug hit is accompanied by hyperactive camerawork and pupils flaring and occasionally grotesque animation. Then there gratuitous nudity inane dialogue and a plot that goes nowhere. Things happen for little to no reason and seemingly to just get to the next stupidly scripted scene. Worst of all most of the story and visual cues are ripped off from Requiem for a Dream in the most unashamed fashion.

    The Losers (2010)

I rewatched this after a year and i had totally forgotten the plot. But i really didn't hate it.. certainly felt like one of those knee jerk rival movies that gets made when another studios makes a similar themed film.. and in that respect it feels like The A-Team.. and as i grudgingly enjoyed the A-Team i actually liked The Losers. Yeah the plot is thin and just an excuse for the action, the crew are like the one from Predator in stereotypes but it is well shot and with a few nice touches that showed they at least cared to make a watchable movie.
  19. You know what i like more than poscasts about movies.. its podcasts that have nothing to do with movies and instead just advertise friends TV shows that don't get aired in my country (that's not your fault of course). I've loved your show for its straightforward takes and blatant advertising just cheapens it for me. Stop diversifying.. you were doing great as you were, you change things up when things get dull not the other way around. I think you guys have run out of steam with 2 boring casts, the last one was unlistenable, for all the reasons people stated in the forum, and would have been the same if you reviewed the trailer for all you talked about it. Please get back to movies and a have fun watching them and bring your uniquely rambling take on them.. I realize I'm inviting the rage.. but that's what comment sections are for.

    The Rock (1996)

I stand corrected... dear me yeah the dialogue is absolutely terrible and the plot more ridiculous than I recalled. I can see it was in the 'just because' mold where, to get things done, every character has to be an idiot and terrible at their job, zero subtly or finesse... just get it done. Cast is mostly C grade but at least some faces and competent actors performing well enough. I can see they were going for spectacle but it seems really dumb when they do exposition by having characters not understand how their jobs and equipment work and explain it to each other.. such a jarringly stupid way to do it. Cars that explode when you look at them.. really dates the action too.. its so hard to get away with that nonsense any more without it being firmly tongue-in-cheek. Its always fun with Cage.. watching him freak out is spectacular, not always in a good way but interesting none the less.. a restrained Cage can still be powerful to watch, i.e. Lord of War but give me ranting Cage any day.
  21. They mildly tore into the flick in the podcast.. and then went to see him and agreed it was a "Cult Classic".. Seriously.. Come on.. That was so disingenuous.. you let the guy repeatedly sell his tv show and make several false statements and exaggerations to your face and as 3 comedians you let him? I can only assume he agreed to it if nothing was said to his detriment. It felt thin and weak sauce. I expect better from such quick and entertaining minds, I don't care for the current popularity of humiliation replacing actual comedy and it would denigrate our hosts to do that.. but to flat agree his movie was in someway good, brave or worthwhile after ribbing it felt like pandering. I certainly didn't expect personal attacks on the mans character and ability.. I think any right thinking person knows how much talent and ability he actually has, that's for individuals. In the recent Abduction podcast they happily used speculation of the stars sexuality as detriment to his acting ability, would they do that if they were about to interview him for the show? Would they back peddle on all the things that didn't make sense or the awfulness of the material? My point is that in interviewing the man they said things they wouldn't otherwise and likewise didn't say things they should have.

    From Paris with Love (2010)

I was kinda bored.. the action wasn't near crazy enough.. and the twist leading up to the finale was way too obvious.. i agree Travolta's execution without any real evidence was shockingly explosive and i like that it wasn't explicit she was in on it. Otherwise it was attempting a roller-coaster ride of violence with silly characters, for an R rated Luc Besson flick it seemed tame.

    The Darkest Hour (2011)

Heard it was bad... a review on Bloody Disgusting, which was initially supportive of the project, really nailed it as poorly done and wasted any potential the idea had.
  24. What i found amazing about the film is, as bonkers as it was, it is now where near as bonkers fun as the original. Edward Woodward on an island of people who randomly burst into folk singing. Fully naked landlords daughters sexy dancing and singing in an empty room as she writhes and eyefucks the camera. The schoolroom scene is surprisingly similar but far more effective and creepy than the stupid jump scare in the new one. I much prefer the intensity too; Woodward's frustration doesn't boil over into crazy anger he is more professional and you can see him battling it as walls are thrown up and he is lied to. Animal sacrifice takes place too.. and a diverse community of people saving a fruit harvest on a barren island makes far more sense. The heavy religious overtones as the Christian policeman is concerned over their godlessness and is a point used in the finale to emphasize the whole madness. Its amazing really that a modern remake is so tame and safe in compassion to what is now a rather old horror movie.

    The Rock (1996)

Challenge Accepted.. I'll give it a re-watch its been more than a few years since it was last on.. it become one of those Christmas tv movies in UK... gets thrown on to fill space. I do recall casually enjoying it.. but I'll hunt out a copy.
