  15. The Black List Table Reads with Franklin Leonard is starting 2016 with a special twofer interview episode with screenwriters Phyllis Nagy and Emma Donoghue. First comes a conversation with Indie Spirit Award nominated and New York City Film Critics Circle winning screenwriter Phyllis Nagy is the screenwriter of Carol, which itself is nominated for 5 Golden Globes and has won many Critics' Choice Awards. Adapted from the novel by Patricia Highsmith, it's a story about a department store clerk who dreams of a better life and falls for an older married woman. Then, Franklin chats with Emma Donoghue, Golden Globe nominated screenwriter of Room, which she adapted from her own Man Booker Prize shortlisted novel. The film is about a five-year-old and his mother escaping from a room in which they have been trapped for the child's entire life and is also nominated for 3 Golden Globes.
