Just caught the first episode of Kroll Show on hulu. I thought it was pretty solid. The Wheels Ontario (Degrassi-esque show) was the standout skit to me. Tunes! My one complaint is that the skits are broken up into smaller chunks that you go back to once or twice (Human Giant did that too). I prefer to watch a skit start to finish instead of breaking it up... But I understand the reasoning for it, with these damn MTV kids and their shortened attention spans! People on imdb and hulu do not seem to be responding well, just like with CBBtv. I don't get that.

What is this, improv4ReggieTheus? Both Billy Merritt and Adam McKay have now dropped Reggie Theus' name into a scene. That's awesome. Matt really upped the level of the episode when he went into the nurse character the first time. That was a great choice, and it became a hilarious through line. ... And for that person who asked, Von's is a grocery store. I assume a Von's card is a 'rewards card' similar to most chain stores, with which you save a few cents on various shit if you have one.

Did anyone else notice that the guests all were wearing plaid shirts in their earwolf pictures? Just a little odd. --- Also, Matt I think that the 2008-09 and 2009-10 Cavaliers were definitely the best teams in the NBA in those respective years. LeBron just choked. They should've beaten the Magic in 2009. The Magic had no business even getting to the Eastern Conference Finals, I mean the Celtics took them to 7 games without Kevin Garnett. The Cavs should've smoked the Magic and at least gotten to the finals. They had Mo Williams, Delonte West, Pavlovic, Varejao, Ben Wallace, Ilgauskas, JJ Hickson and LeBron in 2009. That's a really solid 8 man rotation. In 2010, the Celtics had no business beating the Cavs, other than Rondo playing otherworldly basketball. They won on veteran savvy and Rondo, while the Cavs sucked ass. They had Shaq, Mo Williams, Delonte West, Varejao, Ilgauskas, Hickson, Antawn Jamison, Telfair, LeBron, and Anthony Parker. That's an even better team than '09. They should've beaten the Celtics and definitely would've crushed the Lakers in the finals (2-0 in regular season). Those were solid teams, with the best record in the regular season, with the back to back MVP in LeBron. LeBron just choked when the playoffs came around. He needed Wade and Bosh to hold his hand. For the record, I hate LeBron and Kobe.

I think the 'Building The Track' with Har Mar Superstar was funnier throughout, but I like the final song in this one a tad better.

Chelsea was talking about how she takes calls on Mondays, but the episode that airs Monday is from last Monday... Come on, that's begging for a Pre-taped Call In Show reference. Can't wait for Kroll Show.

For sure, there's tons of free content for a wide variety of comedy tastes. I have nothing to really add to this so I'm just going to throw out another tangentially related qualm of mine. (Not directed at you or anyone in particular) I despise it when people say '____ was terrible' without any legitimate criticism behind it. Everybody should learn how to analyze and provide talking points if they're going to share an opinion, and be able to search within themselves to find out why they dislike something... New no-no, if you provide a well-thought-out opinion differing from mine, then I'll listen to it, see where you're coming from, and agree to disagree.

I listened twice, once solo, once with a friend while driving... But I have listened to the 'going to the break' theme about 30 times and considered cutting it out of the episode for a potential ringtone.

I agree. I mean we are all obviously allowed to voice our opinion, but I think that's pointless to just spew hate. The comedian would most likely never see it anyway, and they shouldn't tailor a character specifically to a few outlying opinions. Plus, characters are a work in progress, especially in the first appearance or two. If you don't click with one, just accept it as a lesser episode and give it another go next week. They're not going to all be masterpieces. Basically, just leave it to the professionals. They'll figure it out. I do think that a lot of hate for characters has to do with perception by the audience. Since it's a character, they don't do a set-up followed by a punchline. It's a meandering, evolving thing so figuring out the point of the bit might be difficult for some. There's layers to a character like Nancy, all under a weird umbrella that you have to get past. The bad standup is her gimmick, but there's a lot more bits weaving into that (wheelchair, bus obsession, 'I didn't even have to go to college', grandma, clothes from a bucket, etc.) Each bit should be seen as a joke in a set, so saying you flat out dislike a character is a blanket statement to me.

I didn't mean release an episode out of malice, so I guess I used 'fuck you' too cavalierly... I meant an entire episode should be a theme/bit that happens to irk certain people. If I were Scott, I'd probably do something like that just for fun. It might be a 5-percenter episode, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

1. As I said in her last appearance, Nancy is great. For anyone that thinks her character was overwhelming, come on, Pamela Murphy knows what she's doing. She totally took her foot off the gas when Neil's character showed up and let him take center stage for a bit. Kristen and her had an interesting dynamic as well. I could see people not liking a bit, like her bad comedy, or her counting things, but not liking a character because of a voice is kind of stupid. 2. As a fuck you to the people who dislike characters because of a voice, I suggest an episode with the guests: Merrill Schindler, Neil Hamburger, Lil Gary, Nancy, and Lauren Lapkus' student. 3. PFT is not overusing characters. He does each maybe 2-3 times per year, that's plenty of separation... Plus he and Scott have such great chemistry, and PFT's insane comedy brain always makes for a very good episode. I'm not even a huge fan of ALW, I much prefer Ice-T and John C. Reilly (really needs to come back), but every ALW episode is great. 4. Neil Campbell is hilarious. Am I the only one assuming he was made fun of by a teen recently, and then developed this character? More Neil please. 5. I'm listing another thing.

This is honestly the first Two Charted I listened to, and I'm only an occasional Who Charted listener... But damn was I happy when Chief Queef came up! I think I might start listening to more.

Bottom 3, from awful to less awful: Pitch Slapped - Ugh. Scheer couldn't save this one. That Hana girl got on my nerves big time. Key/Peele, Novak, Cenac - Felt really weak, especially the first half hour. Key and Peele's characters helped it a little. Adam Pally / Casey Wilson - Underwhelming because I liked Casey and Adam's previous appearances a lot.

Come on man. I haven't seen the movie yet either, and I know nothing about the story at all; but based on reading a brief synopsis or seeing a trailer I could've told you he'd die. 1. Super sick guy wants to get laid before he dies. 2. Hires a sex surrogate to have sex with. 3. It's an indie drama... Hmm... Odds are he's going to die. It's not like the guy was going to bang Helen Hunt and she'd magically cure his ailment. This is clearly a movie "about the journey to the destination, not the destination".

Only 5 of my favorites made it. Not surprised. Clones and Oliver Stones not being there is a total snub.

I'm just spitballing here but, how about Wompler and Lee together on a future episode of CBB?

I really liked Pally barely staying in character, but I didn't vote for the episode since I wasn't thrilled pre-Bro. The first half hour was just Andy and Scott talking... Not that there's anything wrong with that since it was still funny, but for a best-of-the-year I expect a high level of hilarity the entire episode.

Now I haven't seen this movie but I'm going to assume something: 1. When Affleck puts the money in the mailboxes, that happens in the evening or at night. If that's the case, then what's to stop the mailmen from just taking loose cash that they find when delivering mail? One mailman could take all of that money if it's on his route. I mean nobody checks their mailbox until the mailman puts more mail in it.

I could listen to Jon Daly's Carly Rae Jepsen sing Rebecca Black all day.

I only voted for 3/5 of those clips. Outrage, outrage I say!
