Go listen to every Paul Rust appearance on Comedy Bang Bang/Comedy Death Ray, he's hilarious. Matt Besser's also had some amazing appearances there.

You aren't complaining about any of those other supposed violations, you only care about the gun stuff. If you were really about freedom you'd be fighting against all of these things and not just chiming up when a gun law might change. You're saying it's a slippery slope to let them change one more thing, but what about EVERYTHING ELSE they've done that you let slide?

I just wrote a huge response to this, and right as I was going to hit 'post' my power cord was disconnected and I lost it. So, in a nutshell I agree with Matt and the other comedians involved (shocker). People arguing that altering a small part of the 2nd Amendment will negate the entire Bill of Rights and further amendments is total bullshit. There are plenty of loopholes and extenuating circumstances that lets the government sideswipe the amendments... Like I don't know, THE PATRIOT ACT. The Patriot Act can technically violate at least amendments 1,3,4,5,6,7 and 8. So if you're going to get pissy about losing freedom because someone wants to take away your AK, but not because of all of these other freedoms that could potentially be taken from you, you're a hypocritical piece of shit.

Great episode, already one spot filled for the best of 2013. So much anti-comedy and people shitting on each other.

I thought the same thing, but Scott has done something like that at least one other time so I don't know if it's a Stella reference or just parallel development.

^ Holy shit that's a creepy photoshop. Funny installment. It's about time someone took it to the Christian music scene! (fake outrage)

I think I just came, to the realization that this was as hilarious as I'd hoped. I just knew that if Gutterballs and Seth ever got on the show that Mantzoukas and Brian Huskey would play them. Please make this at least a semi-regular show.

Episode 58 β Basset Hound Lips
Hot - Slunch replied to admin's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Holy shit this episode might've jumped into my top three. Ian Roberts is fucking hilarious. It's been months since I've laughed as hard as I did when he busted out that Katt Williams impression. Alex Berg's off the dome Gandalf quote was unexpectedly good, and pretty close to the actual quote. For anyone that accuses me of being a nerd, well, at first I thought it was a Galadriel quote... Oh, I guess I'm just a nerd that's a little rusty with my LOTR trivia. As for Katt Williams, screw him. I don't find him funny at all, and do not understand why he blew up... And all of those clips just made me fucking angry. He wasn't even doing material. Also, that 'freestyle' he did was garbage. There was no real intelligence to it, off-rhythm (and not purposefully like someone like RZA), and it was so damn long. I hope he actually meant it when he said he was retiring. -
Episode 17 β CBB Nativity Pageant Special
Hot - Slunch replied to admin's topic in Earwolf Presents
Is it weird that I'll miss a show I've never been to? I'd heard about the show way back, around when it started. I wanted to go so badly, even more so since Scott said he was thinking about ending it, that I was trying to figure out the logistics of a drive from Phoenix to LA since I was in Arizona a month ago... It didn't happen. After listening to this (amongst other podcasts/interviews) I feel like I missed out on a chunk of comedy history. In an effort to not feel like I totally missed out I just went and bought the poster for the final show, so at least I was tangentially involved. -
There's nothing I like more than bad comedian guests like Nancy. There should be a podcast of real comedians/improvisers just doing terrible comedian characters. One of my all time favorite CDR/CBB bits is Paul Scheer doing Jim Pipe back in episode 8. His daughter had been abducted and every joke was about his daughter missing.

I liked this one a hell of a lot more than last week's episode. The Meg White part really got me.

My opinions: - So nobody in history was forced to wear chains before American slavery? Is the ghost of Jacob Marley racist in A Christmas Carol? Initiations are stupid and I'd never be involved in one, but that's not racist. - Jon Hamm being in blackface was a knock at past practices of tv networks, not black people. So, not racist. - Many races of people spoke in Jive too, the majority was black though. Airplane is fine, it's commenting on the slang of the day. Not racist. - Django's tagline is fine too. He is literally let out of his chains in the movie, the movie should be crazy (off the chain), and he's getting revenge on bad people so he's in a position of power through most of the movie. ------- I haven't listened to all of this show, and I don't read the blog but it would be cool for someone to at least play a bit of Devil's Advocate and not just assume everything is racist. Not hating, just constructive criticism.

First of all, they downplay Tebow not Christianity as a whole. Second, Tebow does fucking suck as a quarterback. He has 0 skills. I don't even like football and I can tell. Third, saying God is a woman. Please be more pretentious. Fourth, God can't be with both sides of a football game since one team loses. If God helped one team win, that means it didn't help the other team win. Therefore, God was more 'on one side' than on the other. What makes Tebow's side better for God to help? That's all d-bag ego from Tebow. Fifth, Sandy Koufax has nothing to do with this. Tebow didn't sit out during a Christian holiday, and the Sklars didn't mock Christmas or anything so you're grasping at pointless straws. Sixth, you spelled Chanukah wrong. Seventh, you spelled Yarmulke wrong. Does that mean God was on my side because your post was riddled with flaws?

I want more Wompler. That is all.

It sounds to me like Cyrus put a bit extra into this episode. Nice to have Gelmania back.

Episode 52 β Itβs Your Choice To Suck A Dick
Hot - Slunch replied to admin's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
About ten years ago I first heard about Victoria Jackson being bonkers, and I had that same weirded out feeling Matt was talking about. It's just strange to see her be so hateful and ignorant, when a comedian should be able to logically analyze and see flaws in everything. How can you truly comment on society and life when you staunchly believe and spew dumb shit all the time? I didn't mind her on SNL, she was serviceable. Jan Hooks was leagues better, and I'm glad Nora Dunn got a shout out. I always felt Dunn was under appreciated. Oh yeah, and I voted so I can still listen. -
The Washington Monugents' performance might be the worst thing I've ever heard, and I want Moore.

This doesn't reek of pretentiousness at all... Holy shit. You sound like you have some deep seeded issues with stand up. Did you go to a show and some club comic made fun of you? There are hack improvisers, hack stand ups, hack sketch performers, etc. If there's a type of art, there are hacks doing it. Improv is not above stand up in some moral way, they are cousins with both good and bad attributes, and good and bad performers. ---- I'm with Gemberling on this subject. In my opinion there is technically a 'too soon' moment, but it is up to the performer to choose to go there. If the performer justifies it with themselves, they can do it. Some people will get offended by anything, no matter how long ago it was. Even a joke about Caesar being murdered could ruffle some feathers. David Cross and Louis CK use the n-word on stage occasionally. Gilbert Gottfried's tsunami jokes were funny to me, and what he's done lately is great too. He puts up dumb one liners and immediately apologizes in the same tweet. From a few days ago: "Why did the banker and his wife get divorced? They lost interest. I'm deeply sorry to anyone who has a low interest bank account." He's mocking the sensitivity backlash that any statement or joke can get (at least that's how I take it). Anything can be funny if done right. --- There's a fine line between people being genuinely offended by a bit and the posers. Nothing irks me more than the flood of self-righteous assholes that act hurt after every disaster. There's nothing wrong with showing support, but acting personally hurt for something that didn't actually harm you in any way is just rude. They co-opt pain so they can feel like better people because 'they care'. After the Virginia Tech shootings many people weren't giving condolences, they were saying how much they were hurt, even though they live in Idaho. I called some of them out, and got death threats for it. Just shows how much some of these people really value the lives that were lost, when you know, they threaten to kill me. So even if someone is offended by some bit, their opinion may not matter. --- That was a little ranty huh? Good episode though! It's definitely a top 3 in my book, along with Lennon/Jessica/Jason and Walsh/Ian/Huskey.

That headline segment was insane. Plus, was that 'wages garnished' bit a Fletch reference?

Heavyweights reference? I'm in.
