Hey Cyrus have you ever listened to The Residents? I think you might like them, especially their early stuff like Third Reich 'n Roll. They're an avant-garde band/art group that has been making music for about 40 years. Third Reich 'n Roll was their 2nd album, a deconstruction of 60s hits. Here's a video they made back in the 70s with 4.5 minutes of the album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRweyGHJ3bc They're amazing, especially live.

Holy fuck, best episode yet. Rich and Poor is still my favorite truth/play/skit/whatever, but this episode was great. Chicago Spotlight and the GG/Gacy stuff was insanity.

I love this show so much due to the insane wordplay and number of puns. Before even hearing about this I had written a few of my own noir/private eye shorts with a ton of jokes. Coincidence? I think not! Secondly, I went back and listened to this show for only the second time (1-15 in a row), and I deemed it necessary to edit them all into one seamless track. Cut to Five hours later, I have an hour and a half long Mike Detective .mp3.

Episode 42 — Quadruple Mix-in

Easily a top 3 episode. You just can't beat that built in chemistry that Lennon/Jessica/Jason have. Lennon continues to impress me. -

I found this like years ago and it kills me. I had to send this around when I found it. Here's a severely fucked up Calvin Klein ad campaign in the early/mid 90s. Around this time they were getting flack for using models as young as 15 in ads... This is a compilation of 8 commercials with 7 different people, basically set up as a creepy child molester talking to young models about their bodies. The order is 2 guys, 4 girls, 2 guys. The guy ones are the best since it ups the creepiness tenfold. I'd say the first minute is a good enough spot to stop since you see two commercials. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZVk21Pco-c -
Who cares that they didn't talk about the movie 'as much' this week? That happens with every director and actor they have as a guest. Smith's stories really added to this and I hope he comes back. The Bruce Willis tidbits I found particularly interesting. I never saw Cop Out, but I could see it definitely taking a hit in quality with someone half-assing it. Seriously, Southland Tales was bad. It might be the only movie I've ever turned off. I was very surprised at that tangent, but so glad it happened. When he first opened the doll and was shocked, I thought, "They're going to do that 4 more times aren't they?" And then they did. I saw that bit coming a mile away and just wanted to get on with the movie. Actually that's how the whole movie felt to me... It felt like it was trying to build toward something, but just never got around to it. The first 20 minutes of Shaun of the Dead was building, and then everything gets amazing. The Watch? Nope. I had high hopes for that movie even though Vaughn never really did much for me, but I left underwhelmed. To each their own though.

I should mention that I also hate K-Mart. No matter where you live it's one of the trashiest places around.

Posted this in the new episode's page, didn't realize there was a separate thread... If you still want a video suggestion, you might like the Super Broker Shuffle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVSVDO6QY7k It's a shitty video submission for some grocery store contest in the 80s. A bunch of southern white people rapping their grocery store version of Super Bowl Shuffle. It's 4 minutes long, but for playback purposes you could probably cut it off a little over a minute in and get the point. The rapping doesn't start until about 30+ seconds in. -
Great lineup. Pally has killed every earwolf show he's appeared on. Oh man, I feel like an idiot for forgetting that!

Is that a record for characters done by one guest? David Eros Chupacabra Baby Goat Old Man Juarez Jeff Goldbloom

Thanks. I'll probably buy them later tonight or tomorrow.

I'm going to buy the full run of the live podcasts from the tour... But I've never bought anything downloadable stuff from earwolf before. Could someone please give me a quick tutorial? Do you actually get to download the episodes from this site or is it through itunes or something? I'm sure I can figure it out, but I want to know what to expect.

I'm also surprised that none of them knew Ayoade. Garth Marenghi's Darkplace is one of the most brilliant comedies of all time, and he's arguably the funniest in the show. Instant top 5 tv comedy in my book.

Hilarious stuff. Martin Starr was a great first time guest, and I hope he does come back. Lennon was awesome as usual, and Neil Campbell's rumors were great. I know I'm not the only one who would love a New No-No's / Gossip combo podcast. Can't make it to the show in Boston tonight, I'm sad.
-
Thanks man. Jeff just said the same thing in response to my question in a separate thread. About 2 hours means I'll have plenty of time.
-
Yeah I meant the time with both components, probably should've specified. Thanks for the information Jeff. Since it's less than 3 hours I'll be able to go and make it home the same night. Awesome.

Best of improv4humans (*NOW TAKING VOL. 2 SUGGESTIONS!!)

My absolute favorite scene is Smashed Loopy from Episode 7, 'Battleship Strap-On' featuring Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts and Brian Huskey. It's fucking amazing. Start of letter conversation: 53:35 Scene: 56:02 - 1:01:47 I'll try and round out a top five and post them. -
Great episode. And just when I think I can't like Lennon any more, she knows enough about the NBA to play Rondo in a scene.
-
I just posted in another thread but, if anyone has gone to see the live show, how long does it last? I live in a different state and the length of the show could be the difference between spending the night or making it home.
-
Can someone please tell me how long the show lasts? I'm in a different state and the length of the show is the difference between getting home the same night on a bus or spending the night in town.

This episode should be dedicated to Michael Jackson.

Who the fuck leaves a window open in a room they never enter? That's just asking for rain damage, robbery, and tons of other things. There's no need for air circulation since nobody is in there, and it won't smell with nobody there. Damn that's a waste of heat too!
