I really think it's June that sets this show apart. Jason and Paul are AMAZING but we have a lot of podcasts, shows, etc...that mock movies. To me, having someone as earnest as June, who seems to work really hard to find beauty and joy in these things, is what is special. It's so easy to be critical of any art now, so much so that it has turned into a genre, but HDTGM (with a big hand from June) seems to work pretty hard at balancing that while finding fun in all of it. I really dig that.

I really appreciate Nathan's comment on being an 'enthusiast'. I like that description of himself and people like that. People who focus on the things they like rather than the things they hate. I believe we all need to do a better job of promoting the things we appreciate and ignoring the things we dislike. Also, the episodes this summer have just been wonderful! Keep it up guys!

I want to hear more June. I think you guys should do an episode that is either her in the lead for the thing, or give her a stand alone one where she talks about her theories on some of these movies. I think she sometimes (don't kill me) gets a bit bullied during episodes. I don't think it is intentional, just the strong personalities of Jason and Paul. So yeah, love the show and this episode, but I demand more June!

I thought of that too, and I was disappointed because I thought they could have called him Air Chupacabra and be nice to everyone. That aside, I think Carlos is the single BEST GUEST EVER. Sports takes, funny stories, genuine, unassuming and just wonderful. Please have him back often!

Wanted to share this with you guys. I was listening to last week's episode in the car and my daughter heard the NAME THAT PUNKY part and started shouting PUNKY! So I started saying NAME....THAT....and she would finish. She won't stop doing it now, so I filmed it. Sorry the quality is so bad but it was a phone after we came in from the humidity.

What really bothers me is there is ZERO reason to not just call her on this early on. It isn't like she holds the cure to cancer and we have to tolerate her behavior for the betterment of mankind. She cooked horrible food for terrible people. It's the same for singers, athletes, actors, etc. We forgive their behavior because we think we owe them something because 90% of us think they are better than us, but the truth is they do things that really aren't that useful to society at all.

Now that is interesting to me because I was sort of hopeful that crap like that died out with Marge Shot (if I am spelling that right), the owner of the Reds. Do you remember her? Everyone always joking about how racist she was and that people just looked the other way. Then she started to just be openly racist in the media and then she got in trouble. Amazing.

I am unclear on something. Was it common knowledge that she was like this going back? I never heard anything about her but the butter jokes, her diabetes (and the irony therein) and then this. If it was always known she was like this, than her fame should never have come.

We need to back up to David's story about meeting the comedian with the missing hands at the start of the show. He wondered, seriously, if he should shake the stub that was offered to him...or the air in front of the stub...because he wasn't sure if the man had phantom limb and would want to have said phantom limb shaken. Did no one else picture this and just laugh hysterically? Can you just picture David wildly shaking the air with a huge smile on his face? Outstanding.

Doesn't this speak to the sadness of our society now? Sure, this video is humiliating and semi-life ruining, but might it get me attention for a few minutes from people I don't care about and will never meet? Well I think that's worth a LOT more than my human dignity.

Great and well..um...suck my anus...please. Priceless. Every time I get sad I think about that moment and the breakdown of everyone afterward. So wonderful.

I am a bit of a cheerleader, but just let me say this..Andrew Ti hosts a podcast on a comedy network, he isn't the actual czar of racism so his opinions or those of his guests or Matt, or us...only have as much weight as we give them. I would ask we all consider that before we start calling for a show to be cancelled or for people to not use words, or to scream for our right to use a word. I just wish we would all take a moment to just hear the other person and what they are saying. If someone feels something you said hurt them, be it because you put down their state, used a derogatory term for their race, put down their gender...whatever...just hear them out and try and understand where they are coming from. It's okay to be wrong and to admit it. Actually, it's beautiful and we almost never see it happen anymore and when we do see it, it's awe inspiring. If they won't listen, walk away and work on someone who will. I don't know, I just hate when we attack each other, even when we have reasons. Yo, is this pacifist? Maybe.

I have never laughed so hard as I have when Kyle mocked the Professor saying 'infinitesimal' at 17:36. I laughed so hard I almost peed myself.

I was so stoked at how Todd did in this one. He really held back when he felt he couldn't help the scene and didn't push in at all. I honestly didn't know he had that in him and it's great to hear him (or not) do it. I loved how he got his confidence going toward the end. I too remembered the detention scene and loved that it took a totally different direction right off the bat. Great stuff!
