I don't understand why, but this has become my favorite show on Earwolf. I walk around the entire time I listen to it with the biggest grin on my face. The highlight for me too was the pickle discussion, but then picturing someone just knocking over all the food at the start of a challenge makes me equally happy. Even as I write this I'm laughing picturing someone doing that and just staring at the others like 'Check and mate'. God this show makes me happy.

God I'm excited! I have never seen Jeff talk this much about something. It must be awesome.

This episode made my heart want to essplode. Just perfect.

I have never heard that 'Burger Review' song before, and it made me far too happy. And yeah, to the guy going after Jake....who the %^&* calls someone a 'turd' anymore? Are you 8? Are you my grandmother? Jesus.

(in Russian accent) Yes and thank you for being forums on loss and growth for business here lucky! Yes? Yes! But seriously, welcome back.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I'll just have to content myself with the 70 other shows you have.

Episode 17 — Best of Shortwave 2012
Lukas Holmes replied to admin's topic in Shortwave with Grant-Lee Phillips
This was one of the most well crafted shows Earwolf has put out. I only listened to a few episodes of this, but put this one on for my daughters in the car today. It was so well executed between the structure, recap of episodes and songs, that it really struck me. The reads on the commercials were the best in the business as well. Great stuff, just great stuff. -
Forgive me if this has been asked elsewhere, but is there a plan to release the songs from Short-Wave on iTunes, much like THE VOICE does for their songs each week? Thanks.

Episode 61 — Your Safety Word Is...

"Alright, I don't want ANY fun sized related stuff...I don't want ANY fun...sized...things...." -
Loved the ending.

Wow. The 'real/not real' products of The Jersey Shore bit was equal parts hilarious and really...really upsetting.

I can't believe I spent part of the final day of 2012 reading all of those posts. I need to reevaluate what I'm doing with my life.
-
Loved it all! Sad there was no 'Return to Suicide House' on it. It was a snub even.
-
Sad to hear it ending, but agree totally that it can be more like SuperEgo or Pod F. Tomkast and just be 'when it's ready, it's ready'.

Episode 127 — The Character Extravaganza
Lukas Holmes replied to admin's topic in Sklarbro Country
As I was attempting to take the lights off my house, with my iPod in my ears, I had to set down my tools, slide down the roof, and then get down the ladder for safety. That's how hard I started to laugh when Joe Walsh came in. It was so bad, I actually thought, for the sake of safety, I had to stop what I was doing. This is ICONIC! -
You mean 'predictions' right? Not just, cabinets and cabinets filled with files about death...right? Right????

My favorite moment so far was the description of the one getting hit by the giant hand and flying out of the boat while the others sing sea chanteys and say, "I wonder how that guy with the bear is doing, he's really growing on me." Great descriptive voice.

I DO NOT want to know how I die, unless it is at the hands of the 'Bad Boy of Pastry'. By the way, do I smell an arch-nemesis to the Cake Boss?

Episode 59.5 — Bonus Cut: Small Boxes

Holy shite. The voices of the kids were so accurate it was alarming. "A classic one that was popular when our uncle was a child." So what my nephews sound like. -
The reaction to Jason and June learning his name was Rudy, made my week.

Wow. I haven't been a fan of Jon's before this. I avoided the Rafflecast because, well, I'm not sure why. But it showed up today in the EP and I gave it a listen on a trip and I now have to rush home and get the rest. The phone ringing made me laugh each and every time. The timing of the two was so perfect. Guess I should be more careful about my assumptions about shows before I give them a chance.

My favorite Christmas special (which is hard as heck to find) is A CLAYMATION CHRISTMAS with The California Raisins. They sing RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER, then wander off into obscurity and to be devoured within various gross cereals.

The I <3 Podcasts shirts don't sell well? That confounds me. I think I wear that one more than any other of my shirts because; my kids love the heart, the color goes with everything, it starts the most conversations. Sorry to hear they are taking up so much room, they are the best.

Episode 126 — Godzilla with Laser Nipples
Lukas Holmes replied to admin's topic in Sklarbro Country
Thanks for the mention guys. It really touched me. I can honestly say that nothing has made this process easier than being able to break away from the mounds of paperwork and meals brought to us, to listen to Earwolf. Jeff and I had a really nice email exchange, but I mention some of what I said to him here. We fight (AND WIN) against things like the tragedy in Sandy Hook and loss in general, through creation. You both create beautiful, wonderful humor that makes the world of millions of people better. I was a brighter, happier person at the end with my mom because of jokes I heard through you all. To pass along a little fun, at the end the funeral home came for my mom. We carried her out through her garden and placed her into the back of their vehicle. My sister stood next to me, clutching her teddy bear that our mother gave her as a baby. We watched them pull away and through the tears of everyone I turned to the group and said, "That's the way mom would have wanted to go. In the back of a sensibly priced Dodge Caravan." There was a pause, then everyone laughed. We carry on, because we must, but I carry on with a smile because I know this world is a wide and wonderful place, and it's a little wider and a little more wonderful because of the Sklars, their fans, and the people that help them get on the air. Thank you. From me, and Linda HENDERSON.
