SHHHHH! I love Todd because half the time he doesn't play along at all. It makes me smile every time that he just does his own thing or refuses to be in the bit. It's so totally in keeping with who he is. The interaction between he and Scott is timeless. My favorite moment had to be how he jammed in the Krispy Kreme story for no reason.

Rory is perhaps the best kept secret in comedy. How this guy isn't racking in the kind of money CK is, is beyond me. I was pretty bummed to hear him say he went out for SNL and didn't get it. Could you imagine him on that? I think my stand out moment this episode was when Randy (maybe) said, "What's next? Are magicians going to get into the Scrabble tournaments?" And Rory's response of, "Thank you. Thankkkk you." Had me laughing so hard I almost Mayhem Millered all over my car.

I live in Colorado, lived in Aurora for a time. I actually was hoping Seth was going to go a little harder with the Aurora lines. I felt like you guys pulled back a bit on that whole sketch, then sortof went for it there at the end with the gun. I may be totally wrong, so if I am. ignore me.

I have NEVER laughed as hard during a show as I did during the shot putter celebration story. "This fire is mine now! I take it! I have no time for you Andrea Kramer get away from me! AHHHHH!!". Please have Jason Nash in studio more often. He was just terrific with you guys. And I agree totally about the Bob Costas character, loved it.

Has anyone tracked down who the reporter was with the Huffington Post? I want to know.

Episode 39.5 — Bonus Cut: Portable Wood
Lukas Holmes replied to admin's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Webster video for the win! In fairness, I posted that in a conversation about scary 80's sitcom stuff. I didn't even realize it had the horrible long silence at the start. -
I was really blown away by the music. I played the songs for my wife and daughter's because they just sounded amazing. I love it when some cool other talents are found by these already amazingly talented comedians. Great episode.

Love the movie Warrior.

I never really cared for Richard until now. The guys did a masterful job of talking to him and really made me make an emotional connection. What's more, I liked Dan's semi-reverence for the man and the part of his own past he has played. Truly one of the best episodes of the show ever, and one of the best moments in podcasting history.

Besser's laughter at the evolultion video made my day. I have an improv related question. Is anyone else getting tired of all the forced improv in comedy movies now? The Watch was just awful with it. I've been seeing lots of behind the scenes stuff of movies where the director, or someone, talks about how they are just allowed to do what they want. For my money, in most movies, I want actually direction, not just some weird riffing that in many cases doesn't really even tie in with the movie's flow. I've seen it in some movies work well, but lately in many comedies, it just seems out of control bad.

Since I've already gushed too much about my love of Earwolf, Podcasts and this new show, but I will say that number one would probably be being grateful for Jeff Ullrich. 1. I am grateful that my wife is stronger than I am. 2. I am grateful for my sister's family and their dedication to mine. 3. I am grateful for Yoga and how our three year old has taken to it. 4. I am grateful for Penguin Publishing and the monthly, lovely checks we get for my wife's various books (which means I am also thankful to all those lovely readers). 5. I am grateful for our local library and the thousands of kid's books we get from there.

This is just wonderful. When I read the description I had to reread it a few times to see if it was a joke. As a father of a three year old and a one year old, this is just what I needed and I can't wait to see where you guys go with this. Jeff sounds like he's worked on his radio voice and it sounds great. David is always dynamic on the mic and I love his timing. This is going to be amazing. On a personal note, podcasts (namely Earwolf) got me through the early months of our second daughter. Around about three months old (which was just four months after the sudden death of my wife's mother) I was out driving the kids around when I heard the Sklars on Rome plugging Earwolf. I found the shows and never looked back. There were so many times that the newborn, Emily, was up all night and while my wife had been handling a lot of that, I found that by grabbing my iPod and catching up on all the back episodes of the various shows while I rocked her, that I became a Superman like figure in my house. One topic I would like you to talk about (sorry to be that guy) is the theory that there is some postpartum depression out there for men. I think it has a name, but I forget it. Being a writer that is works out of my house, I've been there from the start with both of my children. While I love them like nothing else in my world, there have been times I just locked myself away during bad times and cried because I felt like I was such a screw up. It wasn't until a therapist told me that it isn't uncommon for stay and homes (of whatever sex) to experience this horrible feelings, but it is really hard for men to talk about. Can't wait to see where you guys go with this and by the way, I've never been interested in Audible until the ad you had today. Love you guys!

Episode 64 — Tig's Cancer Diagnosis/Autism
Lukas Holmes replied to admin's topic in Professor Blastoff
You fit so perfectly into the dynamic of the show (and this one in particular) because you seem like a genuinely good person. I think part of the reason the hosts respond so well to you is that you're not only speaking on topics that you are an expert in, but topics you have your heart in. Thank you for sharing your story with us. It was very uplifting in the face of such dark news this week. -
Finally!

Oh my God! That's perfect! "Aggggg....customer, you have reminded me the value of humanity. For years I dreamed of coming to country to mash fruit and charge exorbitant price..."

The Iron Sheik cooking show sounds...AMAZING. Why isn't someone (I'm looking at you PFT) doing an Iron Sheik character?

I just saw on the Huffington Post (here http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/04/tig-notaro-breast-cancer_n_1742071.html) that the biopsies did indeed come back positive. I would be fine with never hearing Professor Blastoff again if she would just be okay. Just knowing her through her comedy, I can't imagine what those that actually know and love her personally, are going through. I agree with slothborn, I am sure if she needs money we can raise it pretty quickly. I hate that all of this feels so negative already. Does anyone else feel that way? Like the comments and CK's comments and all of this feels like we're talking about her like she isn't going to make it. I hate that.

So does this mean she does officially have it now? I know after the last PB they were hoping that tests may show she didn't, but she does have it? =(

Blair Witch 2, Surrogates
Lukas Holmes replied to DeathToMikeyBay's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
Yikes. Blair Witch 2. I had forgotten that abortion of a film. I liked the graphic novel Surrogates was based on. Went a lot further with the ideas. -
Thank you! That video on today's show made me cry I laughed so hard.
-
The Star Power skit was just wonderful. "Am I doing a bad job?". The entire one just put a smile on my face all day.
-
I honestly have not be this excited for an episode of HDTGM yet. Come on next week already!!!!
-
I think the correct answer to both is; Because you're awesome!

What an emotional kick in the junk. My oldest daughter, Elizabeth, found me in my office softly crying after the show was over. She asked me what was wrong and I explained that someone I consider a friend (who I'll probably never meet but still care about as does my wife) is very sick. She picked up her doll and asked me the person's name. After I told her, she smiled and said, "No. Tig will be okay soon. I like her name. Tig." Can't argue with that medical science, so kiss my @$$.
