Wonderful. Just the sound of Reta's voice delights me. I loved how off the rails the improv went. Felt like a lot of 'no but'.

Sadly, last week on Doug Loves Movies (around the 09:30 mark), Rich more or less admitted the show is dead.
Â
Yeah, that hurt my feelings. I thought it was wonderful. Maybe someone else can take up the mantle? It's a great idea for a show.

God that one emails enraged me. The one about the woman complaining about the coworker? They should fire you right now because you, are, awful.

He went Fullditch.
Â
Also the whole point of the China calls is that they are absolutely offensive and it makes Kumail uncomfortable. That's where the comedic tension comes from. Without Kumail being offended the bit wouldn't really work. Same reason for bringing up Gillian Anderson's PJ's.
Â
Totally agree. He did it only because he knew how much it would bother Kumail and the more it bothered him the further he went, 'Foolish, FOOLISH MAN!'. It's people who do something like that and are like, 'What? I'm not being offensive, what's your problem?' that are the problem. When someone goes in with the purpose of making up a character that is clearly well beyond the way any human being would sound as that stereotype, with the purpose of being offensive, and understanding they are doing that, then to me it isn't the same.

Middleditch went all in.

Ah man, I felt tired the whole episode.
Â
Carmen has lots of awesome insight and analysis in her but I felt it all fell to the wayside. To me, she came across as so confrontational to everyone and it felt like a "us vs them" situation constantly. By then end I felt like I was blugeoned by a hammer.
Â
I guess that's my only complaint about her. She seems to always start every appearance with a "I'm gay!" take, which is fine. I understand and this movie was a perfect place for it. But it almost always turns into a 'and you're arguing with me!' thing that only seems to be happening in her mind. I mean, I like to think these audiences and (most) of the Earwolf listeners are pretty okay with her/that. I mean, Tig was one of the most popular hosts in the history of this network and I never felt like it was a 'It's me and my life against all of you!' when she was on shows. I really do think Cameron is funny but I just wish she would give us all the benefit of the doubt and understand that with few exceptions, we're with her. Stop attacking us.

Now we're all screaming at each other about dicks and presidential candidates? WTF is happening on this episode?
-
I think if you have either Pete or Cameron on a live, that's great. But don't have both. Holy shit I could not focus on points as they shouted over each other.

I truly do not understand how this became the podcast I am most excited about each week. I don't watch the shows. I never have. And yet, after listening to literally hundreds and hundreds of podcasts, THIS one is the one I am most delighted by. I think it is legit because the ladies are so genuine in their love of all of this. Unironic fandom is kinda refreshing.

Hey Paul, what was up with going after the men that liked man-splits and man-buns? Felt a little homophobic there.

Freaking stoked to see Shannon on one again. One of my faves.

Ugh, Cameron is one of the hackiest comics around. Her routines are hot shehorned message comedy garbage that appeals to Buzzfeed demographics.Every time she tries to convey a message through one of her far fetched monologues on a VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE it induces pure cringe because, unlike an Aziz Anssari, she fucking bombs at nuance or doing justice to any of her issues. Her delivery is clumsy too/. Stop trying to make her a thing, Scott.
Â
"Do you guys remember when ring around the collar was a thing in the 90s in commercials?"
Â
"Do you guys not clean your buttholes?"
Â
Couple of 'yikes' moments here, but I think it's because she's with an idol. She's spoken before about how much she likes respects Scott and I think she's nervous each time they start. But then when a PFT gets involved she's always back to herself again. I think she's great but just gets in her own head with Scott.
-
Cameron can be VERY funny, but she always flounders on CBB. There is something about her/Scott that just doesn't click for me. I think it's because they are actually very similar in their delivery styles (and I wonder if she wasn't influenced by him following CBB so much back in the day). Very funny person, but meh on CBB. Doesn't make her a 'bad comedian'.

"It's called 'In Search Of,' not " We Found It.'"

Barked laughter at that.

Whole...E....shit. Jerry went all in.

The miscommunication was even more disappointing because of all the openings they were giving Matt to jump in on the story. What's with this guy's non-improvin' gabooch?!
Â
Yeah, you could feel it early on that they were all expecting him to jump in and he just didn't. It's kind of hilarious to picture pretty much the authority on improv sitting there, everyone expecting him to join in, and him just not.

"What else in your experience has started to rain?"
"MMMMM mommy's pussy."
"...(gasp, moving from mic) Oh my....(laughter) goodness."

That incest talk though.

Man they keep pulling all my favorite episodes. Jerks.

Was something else pulled?

I love Greer so much. I judge almost all movies by if she is in them or not. (spoiler alert, she's in like 85% of movies)

I can't remember but at one point Gill tried her hand at a 'Hot Sauserman' nickname. What was it? DogCatch Sexerman? or something?

I'm still good. Between the SuperEgo archives, the ALIEN view-along and THE COMPLETE WOMAN, it's been worth it keeping my membership going.
