    EPISODE 113.5 — Minisode 113.5

I totally get it, but it was pretty short and could have been read verbatim. However, I've heard my comments get read aloud before on different things and not sound right, and I think maybe I write too closely to how I talk sometimes. On a cold read, it might might not come across right the first time.

    EPISODE 113.5 — Minisode 113.5

Nice, I got mentioned for the first time in forever! Got a little butchered though. For those that didn't read my original comment, what I basically said was that this movie came out the week that the Gulf War ended, so I'd like to imagine that if this movie takes place in our universe (And why wouldn't it? It DID cause 9/11...), some mention of that just may have been buried far beneath the giant "Ninja Rap is Born!" Headline. Jeez, can you imagine the ass-chewing that reporters at the other papers must have gotten after getting scooped on the Ninja Rap thing? They were probably too concerned with writing about wars n' shit...

    EPISODE 113.5 — Minisode 113.5

Considering that "Blade Runner" was a bomb, "Like Blade Runner, but different..." probably wasn't a bad direction to go in 1984. The results though... Also, with the book "Jurassic Park" still a few years off, Michael C. was in a bit of a slump.

    EPISODE 113.5 — Minisode 113.5

"Runaway"? Jesus, I saw it so many times when I was younger, but barely remember a thing except for mechanical spiders! Also, the "Community" episode that references it and it's mechanical spiders.
  5. Fire-um storm, perhaps? Okay, it's reaching...
  6. And I'd bet that she leaves this off of her resume. It seems like the "Troll 2" of musical productions.

EPISODE 110 — The Island of Dr. Moreau

Guys! The documentary on this hits Netflix on July 14 in the US!

    Rocky IV (1985)

I'd like to think that in "Creed", Michael B. Jordan finds the robot in a basement or warehouse or something, re-activates it, gives it the voice of Carl Weathers, and learns valuable life lessons.
  9. The HDTGM crew is going to change their minds REAL quick when Big Shorts steps in and becomes a sponsor. In the meantime, I hope that Bonobos, or whoever the fuck, sends Paul shorts on his next shipment (you only keep what you want!), and every shipment from now on! It's like Netflix for your dresser drawers!

    Antitrust (2001)

At the time, he was THE technology guy that everyone knew, so it seemed like every time there was a character like that needed, good or bad (usually bad), it was usually a Bill Gates type, but they'd namedrop Gates to let you know that this guy was totally different, except for the 95% of the character that was totally based on Bill Gates. This type of character would of course become more Steve Jobs-ish as the decade went on.

    Antitrust (2001)

Wasn't that the villain of nearly EVERY cyber thriller for about a decade?

    Rocky IV (1985)

The scene where he's driving to Robert Tepper's "No Easy Way Out" is LITERALLY a music video for the entire series just smack dab in the middle of the movie. It's almost like if this were a TV series, that would be the "Previously on Rocky..." part. That said, if this were a perfect world, we'd be celebrating the 30th anniversary of THAT song becoming our national anthem.

    Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2

It's probably just terrible in a completely uninteresting way that isn't worth getting into for an hour.

Am I really dumb (no U.S listerners)

I'm correct in assuming that every Chinese takeout place in the country has the exact same pictures on their menu boards, right? They look like they were all shot in 1973.
  17. Also, maybe he had a change of heart at the end of the first one, I don't remember, but where the fuck did the very recognizable "Head Thug" disappear to?

    Jurassic World (2015)

I didn't notice whether or not the musical piece existed IN "Jurassic World", like if it was just in the score or if it popped up in the world of the film where the characters could hear it, but I think a good gag would have been to make it the "It's a Small World" of that place.
  19. Besides already being talked about extensively here, was it not also mentioned in the episode? That part I'm not sure of. Also, way to like your own comment...

    Jurassic World (2015)

Along those same lines, I was wondering why Bryce Dallas Howard's character wasn't the grown-up Lex. Putting her and Pratt in the roles of the kids now running their grandfather's park, or even just one of the characters coming back, would have made perfect sense. I'm surprised THAT hasn't been brought up more. Minus the romantic subplot, it could have been pretty swell.

My rice always comes in this. The rest is in a plastic or foil container.

    The Master of Disguise (2002)

Brent Spiner probably forgot that Brent Spiner was the villain in this movie.

Am I really dumb (no U.S listerners)

I DID used to joke around with my ex-girlfriend a lot though about things like that. For instance, she'd say something like "Now you better not ever make me angry, because we all know kung-fu", to which I'd respond with something along the lines of "But you're Korean", to which she'd respond "Because we ALL know kung-fu". She was also a terrible driver, but we agreed that it was less because she was Asian, and more because she was a woman.

    The Master of Disguise (2002)

Jamie Kennedy was in a different shitty movie about disguises, "Son of the Mask".
