EPISODE 106.5 — Minisode 106.5
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
You can skip the second one. While the first one is very well made and a lot of fun, 3DD is almost completely worthless. -

WhOops, sorry for the double post, I just meant to edit the first one but quoted it instead. D'oh! -
G.I. Joe: Retaliation
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to johnnycanuck21's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
The Joes didn't even try to stop London from being attacked. It's like they waited until it had already been turned into a crater and THEN someone said "Now! Get 'em!". Between the two movies, they've got a pretty shitty "protecting major cities" track record. -

Stay Alive (2006)

I like how there's this murderous video game that GameStop (or the GameStop-like store the cop stops at) clearly knows nothing about, but the stinger at the end, when all is believed to be well again, we see the store again, and a whole case of this game is being delivered! Because that happens in retail, you take boxes of shit you didn't order or haven't even HEARD of and you put it right out for sale. There should be a post-credits scene where we see that a month later the game still hasn't killed anyone else, because either it wasn't promoted and no real gamers bought it, or its gone unplayed because everyone's grandma bought it for them for the wrong system... -
Paul F. Tompkins presents Spontaneanation (Teaser)
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Yeah, I wasn't sure that I even believed it was him at first! I got a "like" from him on one of the other forums earlier in the week, but he had just the ONE post and just a handful of likes of his own. I think I'm going to have to print that out and frame it. Anyway, I like the cut of this Tompkins kid's jib! He's really going places! -
EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
This reminds me, I'd really like to see them do "Day After Tomorrow", the movie where freezing cold air can't turn a corner. -
EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I'm sure it's a case of no one involved with the film caring to think past the gimmick at all to have any sort of consistency. The sharks are just all-purpose and can do anything they need them to do or be anything they need them to be at any given time. It kind of reminds me of the movie "Iron Eagle", where every time they cut to a shot of the plane flying, it's a different plane. The main plane in that movie is like EIGHT different planes. -
EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Yeah, I was going to point that out originally, that he just attacked it and looked like he was having a blast with something that he knew was so, so stupid. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll be seeing any of this during his WWE Hall of Fame induction this weekend... -
EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Yeah, they were all like "Looks like the next shift is here!", while the people on the boat are all "Woooooo! Guess who's back!", and our survivors are chuckling while LL says he'd rather be back in the ghetto. It makes me wonder, whenever these people return, like every Monday morning or whatever, do they always do the bullshit "Hey guys, ya miss us?!?!" shit? But yeah, no radio contact, we work with super sharks, and we saw smoke the entire way here. Nothing wrong at ALL... -
EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I don't remember. I haven't watched it in forever, and I thought it ended with LL and Jane clutching to wreckage and getting one last zinger or something. Edit: Okay, I just brought it up on Netflix and watched the last minute or so, and you were right. Still, they beat the emergency responders there and apparently didn't see the mile-high fireballs a little while ago. Those guys got some 'splainin' to do! -
EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Holy shit, guys, I just remembered something I was going to ask before: What happens when everyone else comes back on Monday? I mean, we've already talked a lot about how emergency responders didn't show up even after other emergency responders had gone MISSING, so can we really expect that anyone's going to call the employees to give them the 4-1-1? -
EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Oh, they're totally the same for sure, and I grew up in the Chicagoland area, so I had to endure that for years. Also prior to this time, I think the WWF's Piledriver album had happened, so this bit by the AWA was possibly a mash-up/car crash of the two. Vern Gagne, the senior citizen rapping at the end, was never that great at copying trends. I love the bits where the background noise gets blown out in the parts where it's non-wrestlers talking. -

EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I kind of brought that up in an earlier post as well. I mean, what are the stakes exactly? If these sharks want out, just let 'em the fuck out and be happy they aren't after YOU anymore, right? We don't see what happens afterwards when LL and Thomas Jane are rescued and Jane goes back to prison, because really, this con/ex-con is one of only two survivors of this big incident that left many dead, including the head of the damn company (or whatever Sam Jackson was), and millions of dollars of equipment destroyed and he's blaming it on SHARKS that have conveniently been vaporized? At least if the sharks were still out there somewhere, there'd be proof of that. And again, it's not like they're going to take over the world or anything. Let the professionals get them and just stay the fuck out of the ocean! -
EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
So, like all lower-budget, straight-to-video sequels, it's essentially "How do we make this thing cost less? Fuck it, the monster/alien/robot will just look human. BAM.". -

EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
ANY rap that has a first line that ends with "...and I'm here to say" is usually written for kids, for a Burger King training video, or for possibly the most misguided and out of touch promo I've ever seen, which I'll share with you all when I get back to my computer later... -
EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I've heard it, as I was alllll into commentaries at the time, and he was basically like "Well, I'm not in the movie anymore and I wasn't around for the other stuff, so I'm outta here. PEACE!". -
EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Thanks! I wasn't sure if it was for real or not, but he DOES have a show here now. Also, it was a total throwaway line! At least, I thought it was... -
EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!

Has anyone talked to Neil Patrick Harris lately? I think he may be hiding her, and that his life may be in jeopardy... Edit: Oh wow, and I didn't even mean this as a nod to the legendary HDTGM/HIMYM feud, but it works on that level too! -

EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
PlanBFromOuterSpace replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Okay, this wasn't really brought up, but aside from obviously having some wicked smaht sharks on the loose (which already happens anyway, and on a regular enough basis it seems), what really are the stakes anyway? I mean, maybe it would have been best for the survivors to just LET the sharks go, or at least stay out of their way while they try to get out, wait to be saved or whatever once the sharks are gone, let some professionals handle it later, and then spend the rest of their lives NOT going in the ocean. There are really no big picture repercussions world-ending repercussions here. -
