Don't cave to the hype! if you do, the terrorists win!

    EPISODE 104.5 — Minisode 104.5

I kind of wish he was the reason why someone in that town is a ghost.

The Boy Who Could Fly (1986)

As far as I'm concerned, the water sports episode of "Wonder Years" ranks right up there with the bike shop episode of "Diff'rent Strokes" when it comes to all-time best "very special episodes" in television history.

The Boy Who Could Fly (1986)

From the ever-reliable IMDB quotes section (where people don't seem to realize that five pages of dialog constitutes a "scene", not a "quote"), I have found what I was looking for... Bad Boy: So you thought you could make it around the block? [Louis pulls out a water pistol] Bad Boy: Oh, so now I'm supposed to be scared of a water pistol? Louis Michaelson: There ain't no water in this gun. Bad Boy: So what's in it? Louis Michaelson: Piss!

    EPISODE 104.5 — Minisode 104.5

I've gotten pretty good at ignoring this stuff too. I mean, if it's something that I see reference to on social media, particularly by the usual people that share links to absolutely everything, before I even know what it's in reference TO, it probably means it really wasn't worth knowing about and that it'll pass over soon enough. Also easily ignored is anything that manages to spawn shitty "parody" videos by everyone and their brother within hours of it becoming a thing. If it's so easily mocked or replicated, the original thing must not have been that special. For instance, I still don't know what the fox said, yet I've managed to lead a full and healthy life.

    EPISODE 104.5 — Minisode 104.5

Just copying and pasting my comment from the "Safe Haven" thread from two years ago: Based on one of the reviews on a site I frequent, I was able to figure it out based on A picture and like 2 sentences about Smulders' role, which said something about her being the only reason to re-watch the movie. Based on her appearance in Avengers, the only thing I've seen her in, I'm convinced that she's some sort of charisma vacuum, so her performance wasn't the thing to pay attention to, leaving the twist to be the most obvious thing a screenwriter would do to make the audience think they've been mindfucked.

    Death Warrant (1990)

Just like they ALL wear their pants in prison. The level of authenticity in this film is amazing.

    Christian Mingle: The Movie (2014)

I think I have enough material to produce a season of an OKCupid horror anthology series.

    Looker (1981)

When Encore debuted in '91 or so, they didn't show very many movies, but they had a HUGE hard-on for Albert Finney, as I remember those two movies being on a lot, as well as "Tom Jones", and maybe a couple of others. I'd never heard of him before (granted, I was only 13 or so), but I got familiar with him in a hurry.

    EPISODE 104 — ZARDOZ 2

Funny you should mention that, because when I was going to school and working at the campus TV station, there was a framed picture of Tony Danza on the set where we did our news show. No one knew where it had come from, why it was there, or how long we'd had it, but we made sure that it lurked in the background of every shot.

She really should be following Paul on social media though...

    EPISODE 104 — ZARDOZ 2

Jesus, SOCKS by mail? Where does it end? This show alone has had the sock people as sponsors, the Harry's blades one, and the Trunk Club or Bonobos or whatever it was. How long until there's a service that offers to come by weekly to wipe your ass? Because after having to maybe buy socks once a year, being bored with my razor, and having such a hard time dressing myself, God knows I need help with that...

    Edge of Darkness

Please list separately. Also, they did a Batman and Robin episode quite a while back. Oh wait, this post was from 2011?

    What a Girl Wants (2003)

I think that movies like this, "First Daughter", "Chasing Liberty", and all of the movies that they look like have taught me that what a girl REALLY wants is some strange European D.

    What a Girl Wants (2003)

I think it may have been released as that in some Asian markets, but it's much prettier when THEY write it.

    Fantastic Mr. Fox

    Shit just got REAL.

    What a Girl Wants (2003)

You realize that you didn't have to write an entire paragraph in the subject line, right? It kind of left you with nothing else to say here.

    The Real Cancun (2003)

I doubt that it's any more interesting than an episode of one of those CW reality shows, and I don't mean the ones you've heard of, but one of those ones that gets canned after one episode that you weren't even aware had existed in the first place. I vaguely remember this, and I think we had it at my theater for about a week.

    My Science Project (1985)

I'm not sure I've ever seen this, though I do remember that it was on a lot and that sometimes I'd get it mixed up for half a second with "Real Genius", which I HAVE seen approximately 1.2 million times, when I'd see the TV listings.

The Boy Who Could Fly (1986)

Didn't Fred Savage spray someone with piss in this, or make them drink piss or something? I don't remember much, but there is a point where he said "It's PISS". That's my takeaway from this movie. Piss.

    The Last Dragon (1985)

That reminds me, there's a wrestling podcast that I listen to that's used that song as an intro for about the last decade, so I've heard that first part hundreds of times. Good tune.

    Unfriended

When I saw the trailer last week, I couldn't believe that it was something that was going to be a theatrically-released feature. My one word review for "Unfriended": "Ignore" *click*

    Hard Rain (1998)

I think that if Wanted had been made later on that it might have followed the book more, as the comic was going after a lot of the superhero/villain conventions that weren't really as much of a thing in movies yet. If you've seen Kingsman, it's kind of sort of the same case, as the plot of the comic (written by Wanted's Mark Millar) is so entrenched in geek culture that it needed to be tweaked a little to appeal more to regular audiences. I'd say it was adapted better than Wanted, which lost an entire layer of plot in the translation.

    Looker (1981)

Me too, from the early days of Encore when this, "Wolfen", and "Predator" seemed to be the only three movies that were ever on.
