    American Hustle (2013)

Was it that paranoid "Shit, I think someone's there" expression? Because when you're doing lines out of a hooker's ass, THAT'S the big concern... I know there's a pretty good gif though of Leo doing that weird dance, because I think I saw it in a CHUD article way back when the trailer first dropped. We need to start a Wolf of Wall Street thread...

    Miami Connection (1987)

This a different case than "Birdemic" or "The Room" though in that it's a forgotten film that wasn't talked about for decades. It's such a fun movie that you can enjoy without irony, as while it almost certainly WAS the act of someone completely delusional, the makers of "Miami Connection" didn't spend the next twenty years making a career of promoting it as the next great Best Worst Movie, or trying to back-peddle and say "Yeah, uhhhhh, we MEANT for it to be this bad. Yup, we were in on the joke the whole time", like the makers of the previously mentioned films. While that may or may not be true, Tommy and the "Birdemic" guy still have aspirations to make more films, which is something they're terrible at, and the obliviousness that made their earlier work so enjoyable (?) is now replaced by an incredible self-awareness and calculated bad movie making. Supporting THOSE projects would make me feel dirty, but I'd still be happy to talk about and continue to share the badness that brought them to the dance. Hmmmm, has anyone done any sort of study to see what the last great pre-Internet/pre-YouTube bad movie discovery was? I mean, I grew up on "Troll 2", it was on VHS and was on TV all the time, and it was kind of a cult classic even then, but there are other movies from around that same time (many of which have been suggested here) that I wasn't even aware of until years later when friends started posting clips of it.

    American Hustle (2013)

"Wolf of Wall Street" is the more batshit crazy film of the season. "American Hustle", while a fine film, can't even begin to touch it in the bonkers department.

Episode 79 — Deck the Halls: LIVE!

Now you've done it. It's like you're INVITING Danny DeVito to fingerblast you now.

    Episode 48 — Sleepaway Camp

    Co-signed!
  6. By "everything is made of colorful cardboard", I assume that also includes Josh Hartnett?

    The Host (2013)

Nerrrrrrrddd! Sorry, I didn't mean it. I...I actually watched "The Cape"...

Episode 79 — Deck the Halls: LIVE!

This reminds me of when I was working on the emergency room scene in "One For the Money", as Katherine Heigl and John Leguizamo would be talking about Laurence Fishburne's daughter's recently-released porno between takes. Much of the behind-the-scenes shenanigans are infinitely more interesting than what ends up on film, particularly when it comes to terrible, terrible movies.

Episode 79 — Deck the Halls: LIVE!

Corrections/Omissions: I think the movie Paul was thinking about as being on DVD so quickly was "Surviving Christmas", which fell victim to the great Affleck backlash of '04 and actually ISN'T the worst movie ever made. I remember it coming out at my theater around Halloween, it was on DVD by Christmas, and then it was on HBO in July or so. "Deck the Halls" was a Thanksgiving release and was gone two weeks later. Christmas movies are usually total bullshit cash-ins that mke way more money than they deserve, so if you produce a Christmas movie in that 4 or 5 week window and it's long gone before Christmas even hits, you have no business making movies, period.

    Snow Dogs (2002)

Strong strong STRONG disagree on Dwayne Johnson, as those kid movies were some of his more successful films while he was hit and miss with some of the other stuff, and he seems to be a guy that, if he has an unsuccessful outing, no one holds it against him. While I'm not a fan of Tooth Fairy or Game Plan or Journey 2 (which just came out a year or two ago between Fast flicks), I think it's great that Johnson seems to genuinely be having a blast with the material, not acting like he's above it or slumming it, which ultimately has probably expanded his fan base quite a bit. Also, outside of the Rush Hour movies, Jackie Chan's hardly been a big earner in the U.S., and Spy Next Door didn't do any better or worse or any more damage to his career than the half dozen or so movies before it. I'd also say that Cuba had already been on a bit of a losing streak too, but with Snow Dogs performing better than most.

    Mannequin: On the Move (1991)

Can we please get some reasoning behind these suggestions and not just an IMDB link? I realize you're new, but that's all your posts are, and a lot of them have already been suggested, so you might want to do a search first. But please, yes, tell us something about what your suggestions mean to you! A lot of people have a lot of good stories here about the movies they bring up, even if they aren't choices I agree with. Good times!

    One for the Money (2012)

I DID stare at Katherine Heigl in those jeans during the making of this film, and I got paid for it, so I can only hate the film so much. Isn't there another thread for this already, or did I just mention my "One For the Money" involvement elsewhere?

    Black Knight

To be fair though, that's what everyone in the history in the forever has done while promoting their current project, so that part's not the least bit unusual, but I totally believe the stories of him really being a total d-bag on set. I've been an extra, driver, body double, and production assistant on a bunch of movies and a couple of TV things and have been fortunate enough to be on some pretty good sets and haven't had any outright BAD experiences yet. I've usually only worked maybe a couple of days at a time though, or maybe sporadically over the course of a project (read about my "Abduction" experience on that episode's thread!), but I HAVE heard of some pretty terrible stuff from people I trust.

    Rock of Ages

I think it might be interesting to talk about the alternate universe that this thing must take place in. I only saw bits and pieces of this at my theater and couldn't make it through more than five straight minutes of it on TV, so I could be missing something, but are we to believe that all of the songs being performed by Stacee Jaxx or anyone else are theirs or at least didn't previously exist in that world, even though in our reality, we know they were performed by Journey, Poison, or whoever? I ask because I saw scenes in record stores and other places where you see these albums and posters and stuff featuring these other bands, some of which wouldn't have the notoriety they had if those key songs were MISSING. Granted, a lot of the bands that were around at the time or at least part of the glam rock/hair metal scene weren't one-hit wonders, they'd either had more hits before or after, but in some cases, the songs featured that are no longer theirs were the only reason we knew they existed, making those bands and maybe not even the scene itself NOT a big deal on whatever crazy earth "Rock of Ages" takes place on. Also, hearing the songs in the credits, minus the visuals, makes me believe even MORE that this is some stupid, stupid shit.
  15. Speaking of CSI and DNA evidence and everything, movies and TV have taught me that no matter what you do, no matter the kind of crime you commit, your jizz is going to be everywhere, and it will come back to haunt you. You blow up a building without ever even entering it? Your jizz will be there. Shoplift a Snickers bar from your local convenience store? Jizz EVERYWHERE.

    Crocodile Hunter Collision course

Clooney or Spielberg or somebody needs to make a movie called "Collision Course" just so there can be ONE good movie out there called "Collision Course".
  17. At the end, you mention Pacino's movies influencing pop culture, but I think you had a better example sitting right there that didn't really get talked about as much as I was expecting, because "Wall Street" brought to mind several other films that Oliver Stone wrote and/or directed that have shaped particular cultures and the way we look at real-life things, the most notable being "Scarface", with "Platoon" (there's war looking awesome), "JFK", and maybe stuff like "Natural Born Killers" also molding our idea or view of things to a lesser extent. Also, I'm convinced that barbarian culture HAD to be exactly like it was depicted in "Conan"... Does anyone remember when MTV had the show "Cribs", and nearly every rapper's house they showed had a "Scarface" room? I think if I was a famous rapper, I'd devote a room in my house to almost any other Al Pacino flick, because really, why not? Seriously, "Bobby Deerfield" is the shit. This reminds me, I've seen talk of a possible remake on the horizon of "Scarface" that would take place in contemporary time, which begs the question, will Scarface HIMSELF have a "Scarface" room in his house?

    Episode 77.5 — Minisode 77.5

You could totally make a game of whether or not it's a clip of her singing or comically overselling a reaction to something. Hard to tell them apart...

    Episode 77.5 — Minisode 77.5

And it had Jami Gertz at her Jami Gertziest! Mmmmm, I loved me some Jami Gertz... Holy shit, do you guys need to do "Solarbabies".

    Episode 77.5 — Minisode 77.5

I don't suppose that we're going to be lucky enough to get THIS "Jack Frost", are we? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mM-_eSWbI2A I think they go to the Caribbean or Jamaica in the sequel...

    Episode 77.5 — Minisode 77.5

The audio from the trailer makes it sound like it'd be "Annoying Sorority Bitches Trying to Sing Along to the Radio Like Britney Spears: The Movie", starring Britney Spears. So, who was Anson Mount a decade ago? I'd never heard of the guy until "Hell on Wheels", which he's pretty great on, and I'm pretty certain I haven't seen anything else he's been in even though he's worked pretty steadily for a long time.

    Episode 75 — Daredevil

This reminds me, the owner of the chain of comic stores I used to work for got his marriage proposal worked into an issue of "Wonder Woman" a few years back when Walt Simonson was writing it, and while it's neat and all, it makes NO fucking sense outside of anyone that knows him. It got us some good press though and Simonson did appearances at all the stores. Actually, that may have been at a different time, I can't remember. I've only bought two issues of "Wonder Woman" in my life...

    Jennifer's Body (2009)

Diablo Cody's writing, while tolerable in some situations, makes me think that she had to have THE worst dirty talk back when she was a stripper. I mean, you've got some poor dude just wanting to get off, but there she is trying to tell him what she'd do to him, and she's just confusing the poor bastard with some crazy made-up slang, just totally killing his boner. Mmmmm, I'd still let her tie me up with a hamburger phone ANY day though...

    Episode 63 — Fast & Furious 6

So, the Blu-Ray has the "Extended Edition", right? I'm hoping that that means that the runway at the end is like another 12 miles long...

    Episode 77 — Hudson Hawk

Thanks for the shoutout! I haven't been around all week, so I only just saw it, and my phone isn't letting me "like" anything at the moment. I think we've covered most of the sequel bases, but there needs to be a "Halloween 3" of the series? What the hell will "Nundercover: Season of the Witch" be?
