Hey, it just hit me... Everyone's making Catfish references in this post-Manti-Teo world, so... Analyze Catfish.

Is it "end scene" or "and scene"?

A Fish Called Wanda
Β
Also, Shelby must have slept through Empire Strikes Back if she thinks Darth Vader never said "I am your father."

Probably the two worst guests I've heard on any earwolf show. It's like they came in with this idea to do an over-the-top shtick that is already the de facto shtick of the show, just done really loudly for no reason.

His seagulls story is an artful humblebrag epic.

Andrew tries hard to declare racism, or at least wackness, on a white man calling a black man brother, then confesses that one of the words he likes to call people is "dog." Homeboy Sandman's HuffPo piece came to mind. Dogs are subservient, brothers are equal.
Β
"Are we trying to make everything racist?" - Nocando, summing it up.
Β
I like how Nocando is the least everything-is-racist guest there's been, and maybe the only black guest I can recall.

Koko B. Ware's inspiration was Morris Day.

Gotta go with Caleb on this one. It's as if Pet Semetary 2 was made solely for the purposes of this podcast. To quote Jason, that movie is literally bananas!
Β
That movie has the #1 most anti-climactic protagonist death in history.
-
I appreciate Nocando's take on things, even when I disagree. In this case, I agree with him that it's about money, risk, and class. I think there's a decent argument (RIP, Howard Zinn) that American racism is, itself, a construct propped up to serve the financial interests of the wealthy.
Β
That's pretty much what I assume it is. Although I guess there's another form that you find in lower-income working class areas where tribal mentality takes over and people band together to eliminate any sort of financial competition to keep themselves from starving. (E.g. "They took our jerbs.")

I'm a little late to the party but this was the best Ween song in years. Also, try to get Fiona Apple as a guest. She's a friend of comedy, or at least of Paul F. Tompkins.

Fucking awesome. That was my call, and as a Shots Fired superfan, an ideal set of guests to comment on it, and the discussion was really interesting. PS I don't always talk like that, just figured I'd illustrate. Thanks!

New Born Baby Colt has the highest hit-potential of any DBS track I've heard.

Ebert liked it. ***1/2

Am I a horrible person for immediately imagining the late, great Freddy Mercury during the discussion of sharks not being able to fit all their teeth in their mouths? Now all I can think about is FreddyShark swimming through the oceans singing We Are the Champions as he struggles to manage his many rows of teeth, a tiny half-microphone stand tucked under his fin.
Β
Jaws was never his scene (and he didn't like Star Wars).

Oh and you can watch that Howard/DBS Comedy Central half-hour here: http://www.hulu.com/watch/236682

I'm uncomfortable with Kulap downing Howard's lazy Buddha God complex. It's a good complex.
-
So, like Doug Benson, Howard is a couple of years older than his IMDB profile states. Bizarre how that works, if only the DOB's (presumably not provided by them) had been accurate in the first place, they wouldn't be evading the question at all. Truth is they are two of the funniest people around and no one gives a shit if they are 31 or 51.
Β
(They are both 52.)
Β
I don't think Howard is afraid of losing fans. But maybe he wants to keep open the option to date a 27-year-old or something. He's been involved in youth culture all his life!

I know some people (Phish fans especially) will gripe about feeling duped, but i thought what they did with this was really funny. I never expected any more AP episodes, so the brief AP section that started the new episode was a nice bonus, and served as a proper coda to the previous episodes in the series. It actually reminded me of when 'Childrens Hospital' did their 'Party Down' ep, and everyone got super excited, only to find out (in true 'Childrens' fashion) that the 'Party Down' portion didn't come until the episode was already over, and lasted about 20 seconds.
Β
I think Earwolf has an awesome opportunity to make Analyze Phish just a template for a series of one-off episodes with Earwolf personalities trying to turn a skeptical colleague on to something that they are passionate about. Scott could host an episode trying to get someone into musical theater, the Sklars could do an episode trying to turn someone on to a great football game or March Madness or something, so on and so forth. I think the idea has serious potential beyond just Phish if they really wanted to do something with it.
Β
Next time: the Earwolf gang heads to the film section of the library in Analyze Fiche.

1) This is one of the most entertaining things I've ever heard. More more more.
2) Maybe Enmity would be a super nice place, in a Greenland/Iceland type of situation with Amity.
3) Spielberg is framboise.

Tig said she was completely herto. She tals about her sweetie which is a male. This artcle says she is an OUT lesbian.
Β
Kyle is her sweetie, but not her fuck-sweetie.

I don't really have a problem with this one although I hardly see it as a strike against Jeremy Lin that he isn't "a bad dude" like Andrew says his cousins are.

DO VIDEO IN 2012! Barring that, since it ends in a few weeks and all, 2013.

You're all welcome.

Maybe there should be like an Earwolf Farm Club podcast. Kind of like the Challenge minus the competition aspect. Or like this show without the tie to a movie.
