After months of playing catch-up, I hit Podcast Zero this week and finally began listening to Nerd Poker from the beginning. While I read every comment on the Earwolf forums (moderating duties, blah blah) I've never had any context for the artwork posted here.
Â
28 61 episodes in, however, I can confidently state that I love you beautiful bastards.

Speaking of podnerding, do you have certain shows that you listen at regular speed, 1.5x and 2x speeds?I listen to nearly everything at 1.5x, although I find technology-oriented podcasts can withstand 2.x, because nerds speak slower and generate less cross-talk than comedians.
Â
I only listen to podcasts at 1x when I'm not wearing headphones and/or there's significant background noise. If you've only listened to a show's intro song (or Howard's chart themes) at 1.5x, hearing them at normal speed is really disorienting.

In using the phrase "shitheel" in his inaugural post, DarkArfs made it immediately apparent that he is at least 20 years older than everyone else on the forum.
Â
Given his antipathy toward Dan Harmon, and general demeanor, I just assumed he's Chevy Chase.

Sklarbro Country is the original sports-centric podcast, featuring a guest from the sports or comedy world. New episodes drop every Friday.
Â
Sklarbro County (the ".5" show) is a companion show introduced in 2012, featuring the Sklars and writer Dan Van Kirk, where they focus on weird stories in the news rather than sports. This show was originally guest-free (and therefore shorter and easier to schedule and produce) but guests are now common. New episodes drop every Tuesday.
Â
Don't worry, neither show includes re-runs.

I am shocked and disappointed that, in the midst of a conversation about Barenaked Ladies, Mr. Fogelnest flagrantly mispronounced the phrase "IT'S BEEN". I have filed a formal grievance with the Earwolf Board of Trustees and Podcasters Union Local 424.

Stephen Merchant's well known for trashing portal saying he's never seen the game or ever played it. He just collects the checks. he's said this on more then one talk show already. He was being a jerk about it on the nerdist podcast.Every interview I've heard with Merchant has been far from "trashing" Portal 2. The man acknowledged that he is not a gamer and has not played the original Portal, so he had no context for the role and therefore approached it as a regular acting gig. You may need to recalibrate your jerk detector.
Â
Looking at Stephen Merchant's resume, it doesn't really seem like he's contributed to anything nearly as funny or interesting as his work with Ricky Gervais, so I'm not so sure.
His stand-up special, Hello Ladies, was pretty great. Evidently not great enough to adapt into a TV series, though.

I couldn't gauge how serious Sarah was when she said she'd be alone/unloved for the holidays, but it implies she and Kyle are no longer together. If true, this is the saddest Chart Exclusive ever.

There's a clear correlation between the quality (and quantity) of photos and which Earwolf engineer presided over the episode. Some days, you get a Brett or a Frank (RIP Dirt Cup) behind the lens. Some days, you get Ramhanded.

where's the thread for voting on the best episodes? did I miss something?I'm sorry, the floor is now closed for voting. You were told in advance that there would be no warning, so I'm going to have to dock you 275,633 points.
Â
(Just kidding. The poll is still available in the sidebar on the CBB show page.)

(I don't have any names in front of me, but did she also do a sketch for the Paul F Tompkins show that was about a commercial for a family fun centre)That was Maya Rudolph.

If you enjoyed this preview, please visit the Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project page and click the "Donate" button. With Andy in the studio so often, Earwolf will require an estimated $5,000 worth of replacement keys for the office bathroom. Thank you for your generous support!

Who on earth thought inviting that clunker of a musician on a comedy show was a good idea?Scott Aukerman, the host of Comedy Bang Bang. Asshole.

AV Club? Yaaawn. Let me know up when Jake receives a real honor, like being named "Man of The Year" by the American Bread and Butter Council.

How about calling it Nundercovers instead, and make it a sexy espionage series on the USA Network (Ã la Silk Stalkings)?

On one hand, I'm a heterosexual male, and Idris Elba may be at the top of my list.
Â
On the other hand, this is the scene that turned Retta on to Donnie Wahlberg.

What happened to you, Retta?

This is without a doubt the worst Plugs theme ever submitted to the Earwolf forums.
Â
Brennan, if you possess even a modicum of dignity, you will dump the accordion, ukelele, and toy xylophone into the nearest river and never mention music again.

These are horrible product suggestions so far. You guys can do better than that. You're human!Who the hell do you think you are? Are you any kind of industrial designer? Anybody know who you are? Maybe everybody else on the forum wants to enjoy the product suggestions! This is one of the most important pages on the Internet! Who are you? WHO ARE YOU? You miserable, presumptuous no-talent! You're no industrial designer! An industrial designer respects the brainstorming that serves as the foundation of creativity! You OBVIOUSLY don't have the talent! You don't have the respect for yourself or other people, OR what it is to express yourself in merchandising or any other form of commerce!

Episode 183.5 — Sklarbro County 88

After hearing Conroy on I4H last year, I ended up listened to 6+ seasons in The Long Shot in six weeks. Great rapport with the Sklars and DVK, hope he comes back soon!
