  1. Scharpling was spectacular, but this is Harris's worst playlist yet. Phish's continued existence is an affront to decency.

That being said, I would like to petition episode #10 be How Did Phish Get Made? with Jason Mantzoukas. Zouks spent several years abroad studying the trance-inducing qualities of indigenous music, and he is also exceptionally talented at calling out fucking garbage.

  2. Jake, everyone knows the role you play as tastemaker, pop culture anthropologist, and champion of the underdog. You have been personally responsible for the revitalization of so many stillborn careers. It is for this reason that I write to you today.

    This man needs your help.

We've set up a special hotline where tax deductible car donations can be made to benefit washed-up singers/rappers/Dan Cortese stunt doubles. DIAL 1-877-KARDO-4-GERARDO. Thank you and God bless!

  3. I'm equally frustrated by the guests brought in to discuss controversial topics, as they are always either too polite or too inept to give David the rhetorical punch in the face he desperately needs. It reminds me of Case Closed segments on Improv4Humans, where outraged listeners call in to debate Besser and, within seconds, collapse into balls of mumbling capitulation.

If listeners can't tell whether you're "playing devil's advocate" or "simply being an asshole", perhaps some self-evaluation is in order.

  4. Man, Todd Glass is the white version of black don't crack.

Or the white version of "born looking 42"!

I love how natural Amber is for a first timer. She must listen to the show, she just seems to get it. Great episode.

I suspect being married to David Cross means living in a comedy bit maelstrom at all times. She's more than capable of (man?)handling poor Todd.

  5. I am 56 minutes into this podcast and am CONVINCED that Stephanie is Tig's mammal friend and they are just being coy with all the relationship questions. And if not, they should be. (no offense actual mammal friend)

She is definitely the mammal in question. She was at the Bentzen Ball with Tig, and appeared as Tig's conspicuously nameless movie-loving girlfriend on the corresponding episode of Doug Loves Movies. It's great to hear Tiggleby's unique brand of giddy-in-love.
