  1. I would happily listen to a podcast where these gentlemen shot the shit once a week, perhaps over some sort of light meal.

    Potential titles:

    Dining with Scott and Maron

    Marc & Scott Eat Snacks

    Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

    Y'know what, nevermind.

  2. The site in question republishes content from other sites (in this case, an entire Huffington Post article) without permission, in order to attract errant Google searches, with the ultimate goal of inflating their ad views and their Google PageRank. This is only marginally better than the antisemitic garbage they also happen to peddle.

Rather than playing into their hands by giving them more traffic, I've removed the link from your post.

  3. Shariq is a racist.
No, he is not. I think he does get a little extreme on matters of racial politics, and have disagreed with him many times. But it sucks that we can't have discussions about race without this kind of "reverse racism" bullshit.

The kernel of many of Shariq's arguments is "[described behavior] is the product of America's institutionalized marginalization of minority voices." The fact that people keep showing up here week after week to post (in short) "This is stupid/wrong, why is it even being discussed?" simply lends further credence to Shariq's argument.

It'd be great if all of the regular participants in the forum could lay off the ad hominem attacks and straight-up trolling but, barring that, at least stop reporting each other to the moderators so often. You goddamned babies.

  4. Very thankful for your work, but your being very biased and dissmissive. SDR didn't take back Improv4humans, so its sort of a non-issue now. I think sponsors like this should have Jeff or someone else involved purely in the business side of things take a look at them to see if Earwolf wants them and then give the offers to host to accept/veto. I am 99.9% sure Matt had no clue what the website had besides the weed stuff because he did not look. Maybe everyone at Earwolf is fine with doing ads for whippets/drug test tricking kits, but I would doubt it. I also think the "no sex websites" thing should be reconsidered. Comedy podcasts and adult type stores don't mix AT all in the same way it does not mix with dope. Extreme restraints ads for My Brother, My Brother and Me have become a fan favorite segment that is hilarious and refusing them on principle seems close minded.

  5. Jeff Ullrich appeared on the paidContent Podcast a few weeks ago, during which he explained the strict vetting process that companies must undergo before their wares can be advertised on Earwolf. The most important point is that hosts maintain veto power over the sponsors that appear on their shows, explaining why the head shop ads appear on Improv4Humans and Who Charted? — Besser and Howard have been pretty forthcoming about their cannabis usage in the past — but not on Comedy Bang Bang.

At the same time, Jeff also noted that Earwolf had never advertised sex toys or other shady products, seemingly as a point of pride. Yet here we are two weeks later with ads for drug paraphernalia across multiple shows. I'm less concerned about the content of the ads than I am curious about the apparent contradiction. But only mildly curious at that.

  6. Scott has been on fire all of this year in my opinion. I think it was Hot-Slunch who said something about it last week too.

Scott has transcended "Yes, And" to become the bona fide master of "No, Really, I Insist" improv. If you see a fellow improviser painting themselves into a corner, press them on it and try to stifle your laughter as they squirm. The Choctaw is truly a mad genius.

  7. I shit my pants when the episode didn't download this morning. Thank god I went to bonobos.com and used offer code Henderson to buy some new orange chinos.

Flatulator, virtually every comment you've posted on the Earwolf forums has been obnoxious and/or trolling BS. This, as it happens, one of the milder examples.

I strongly urge you to reconsider this behavior.

  8. I am having trouble listening to the podcast on the site now. This didn't happen a few weeks ago, did you guys change some formatting? I know it could be my system but thought I would ask.

All Earwolf podcasts were migrated to the SoundCloud audio service over the past few weeks, and it turns out some employers are blocking said service. If you're trying to listen at work, try loading soundcloud.com in a web browser to see if that's the crux of your problem.

If you can load SoundCloud without issue, check out this thread in the General Earwolf forum for other troubleshooting steps that might help.

  9. This isn't a bad movie, per se — I actually think it's fantastic — but it's astonishing how few people have even heard of a Donner Party-inspired period horror film starring that guy from Memento, that guy from Trainspotting, that guy from Minority Report, that guy from LOST, the principal from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and David Fucking Arquette.

It's on Amazon Instant Streaming (for $2.99) and appears to be available on Netflix.
