EPISODE 106 — Deep Blue Sea: LIVE!
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
If it did, I can only assume it would start with "Well my name's Rappin' Oscar and I'm here to say, it's fun to rap in a deep sea way." (Smith's character was named Oscar.) -
EPISODE 18 — Drew Tarver: Split Ends with Trey Felt
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
"I took an 'Emperor's New Clothes' approach." Perfection. "Let's name 'em" was a quintessential LL set-up. And two Amanda Calzone Squarespace ads?! Great ep all around. -
"Take that, scripted crud!"

In today's Earwolf newsletter, they teased "more content" from three fan favorites, two of which we already know about (Womp it Up and Hooray Show). The third was this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Mqwdyw92g1s/UQQOFFpqSQI/AAAAAAAAFeQ/pE7uFxS8faM/s1600/Cake+Boss1.jpg Cake Boss? (Cake Boss.)

EPISODE 179 — LIVE from SXSW 2015 with Austin Lucas
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I will never, ever get tired of hearing crazy stories from the early years of UCB. -
If I didn't know that Adomian was going to be on the show, and they hadn't jumped on the gun on the drop, I would have flipped the fuck out when Enter Sandman hit.
-
On a similar, note, when did Leykis turn into Brody Stevens? YOU GOT IT! Great episode, Tig and Leykis were great foils for one another and the WH ladies were a delight as always.

PREMIERE DATE ANNOUNCEMENT AND TEASER!!! https://soundcloud.com/spontaneanation/paul-f-tompkins-presents-spontaneanation-teaser

Yes! I knew there was something else I wanted to mention. It's amazing how similar those were, even down to the French Stewart and French Montana answers.

Wonderful episode, but way too short. Zouks being able to do a Kulap intro twice as good as Howard has ever managed to do it was amazing. Kulap's surprise/delight over Jason's Gilmore Girls fandom was great.

Episode X - Trouble with Boys
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in The Hooray Show with Horatio
I agree, but I'd rather eat fish than be dead. Cool episode, pleasantly surprised to hear Horatio doing something resembling a straight interview given his anarchic tendencies. -
It probably has something to do with the fact that "a few months ago" (i.e. everything from ~2-8 months ago) as we were hearing it was a lot of episodes recorded in a short span of actual time, which had to be draining after a while.
-
Totally agree. And sometimes lately, it seems like they don't even bother with the "gloss over the general plot". I know that stuff is kind of boring if you've seen the movie, but if you haven't, it can be really hard to understand what they're talking about at times.

Another great guest and episode! It never specifically occurred to me that Michael McDonald sounds like he's yawning, but now I'll never un-hear it.

Jordan Rubin's mom : Kathie Durst :: Rich Somer : Malaysian Airlines flight 370 DVK's Durst was great. I'm not sure Jordan's mom's building is the same one she was headed supposedly to when she disappeared, because that was always referred to as being on Riverside Dr. and Jordan said his mom lived on 86th St., but I checked and those streets do cross, so I guess it's possible.

List of Scott's Frequently Repeated Phrases
Kickpuncher replied to RyanCampbell's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Long-winded references to movies being shot at 24 frames per second -
I don't think Scott calling Todd "she" is meant to be a bit, but it becomes a bit because (s)he whines about it every time, which made it especially funny when (s)he just went straight to "Fuck you!" this time. In fact, Todd used some salty language a few times in this episode without Scott ever commenting on it. I feel like he's getting a little lax in his "ersatz" parenting. So I guess I'll be excitedly waking up to check Earwolf every Friday morning until that Dabney episode of WSGLL is released.

I watched all of The Jinx this weekend, and wow, that ending was pretty incredible.

For anyone who missed this on Netflix and just can't resist, it's on USA right now. I guess that doesn't help since it started at 8:30 (unless you get the Pacific time zone feed), but you can still see the drunk husband's sweaty rampage and the ghost reveal.

EPISODE 20 — LIVE from SF Sketchfest
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
Yeah, it's not on the album. And because I'm a complete lunatic, I wasn't satisfied with not seeing it on the track listing, so I went through and listened to the start of every track to see if maybe they just played the intro and then went into another song. -
EPISODE 17 — Me 2 I'm Talkin' U2 To U Too
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
Allison's tone-deafness might have been just enough to skirt their litigious ways since it was just the words and not the melody. Oh, also, this was amazing. -
EPISODE 17 — Me 2 I'm Talkin' U2 To U Too
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
And Lauren is even wearing a "names of the band members" t-shirt! I actually wanted to make a similar shirt that would say Bonobos & Thedge & Adam Claytwothousandpounds & Larry Mullen Sr.'s Son- 52 replies

EPISODE 178 — Allison Weiss' Secret Sad Dance Party
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Can we not delete posts? I accidentally hit 'quote' instead of edit on my above post and posted this one before I realized it. -
EPISODE 178 — Allison Weiss' Secret Sad Dance Party
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Not a lot. Making Matt feel good (and any of the guests, if they happen to be reading), I guess? What's the point of a lot of social niceties? But most people say something more substantive than "I liked it". If someone brings up a funny moment from the show and it makes other forum members laugh, or adds an interesting perspective, great. If you criticize something...well, I don't see how "it's exactly the same". What, you want to remind people of something they didn't like, or tell people how you disagree with them for liking something? I don't necessarily disagree that there should be a place for constructive criticism, but if the host has stated multiple times that they don't really care, then at some point it just becomes pointless negativity. -
EPISODE 178 — Allison Weiss' Secret Sad Dance Party
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Great mmmmuuusical guest! Her albums are only $7 each on Bandcamp if anyone wants to give an I4H Bump. I know improv isn't really supposed to be about 'jokes', but Lauren fucking SLAYED me with "Ya wanna .69?" and "Well, write today."
