  1. Disaster Artist is an AMAZING book, though it shows Tommy as a psychotic asshole and really makes the rumor of the movie being a money laundering scheme that much more plausible. I really want to see a director's cut of this movie that has the full 6 minute first sex scene and where Tommy drives a car off of the roof somehow and proves that the character is a vampire. Buy this book you guys and what's funny is that Paul is mentioned in the special thanks section of the book, but not June or Jason.

The Raid 2: For fuck's sake

This movie was amazing. It added such a story, that while familiar at times, seemed fresh. The fight scenes were so fluid and unlike anything I've seen in a very long time. One of the best reviews I read basically said that the last 45 minutes should just be called "Boss Fight: the Movie," which is so true. And for a 2hr 30min movie, it doesn't feel like it which is always a big plus.
  3. I have another connection theory for the Chev Chelios continuum. While we can agree that Ginger Spice was mouth impregnated by the alien which led to Chev being born for the Crank movies, he also seems to have powers beyond what one may get from being part alien, namely how he is the only or one of the only remaining kind of his being, as depicted with Jet Li in The One. Think about it, his character from that movie, seeing how powerful Jet Li got by killing the other versions of himself, does the same thing to get more powerful. Now with there being fewer left in the parallel universes, Chev can withstand more punishment and usually life-ending injuries.

    Toy Soldiers (1991)

Sorry for a second I was thinking you were talking about Small Soldiers which featured out of control toys trying to kill people. They should do a double feature of these two movies since I'm sure this would be another Jack Frost scenario where people get the two movies mixed up with two horrible films.

    Blended (2014)

That and the fact for some reason all of these recent movies have huge budgets in comparison to the little being put onto screen. It doesn't cost $80 million to create a deer pissing in your face, which is an odd number as it seems like it is a minimum set by the IRS that production companies have to reach for certain write-offs as every movie he has been a lead in, outside of Reign Over Me, has had a budget of $75-90 million and they definitely do not show it on the screen.

    Blended (2014)

I think it may be safe to do it with this one as they openly went after it in an episode and to be honest Sandler doesn't seem to have the pull he once did.
  8. Oh yeah I've been looking through the various lists. I was actually considering pairing it with a board game adaptation, in this case Clue, but I didn't have the license for that movie. So right now I'm thinking of pairing it with either Wreck-It Ralph or Scott Pilgrim vs. the World which are pretty good movies based around video games. Though if all else fails I can pair it with The Wizard. Then maybe for the next game day event at my job I can hold another double feature with Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.
  9. I'm actually showing this movie at my job for my city's public library along with another game based film, as part of a double feature to coincide with another library event. I tried to think of game movies that could best purvey game adaptation movies but there really isn't anything that shows the awesomely badness like this movie. Just trying to figure out what to pair with it.

    Escape From L.A. (1996)

How much weed did they need to offer Peter Fonda for him to show up for the four minutes of screen time that he had? I also love how they always find a way to get legendary or award winning actors in the Escape films like Peter Fonda or Cliff Robertson in LA or Ernest Borgnine and Lee Van Cleef in New York. And with how Carpenter has used practical effects to such a great effect in his films (The Thing and Escape from New York come to mind), it seems like the effects that were used in this film were studio mandated as CGI was starting to get huge at the time.
  11. I think I figured out why the final battle was in a shitty version of the AWA arena (for all you wrestling nerds). In the movie, Zeus goes about fighting a bunch of different tough guys on their home turf which are mostly bars or factories of some sort, but still their home turf. The final arena was Rip's home turf, or at least a mockup of it similar to the first fight in the film. Wrestling promoters would use this kind of tactic to really put a guy over as a legit force to be reckoned with by showing how he can beat his opponents even when they have home field advantage.

Episode 85 — Color of Night

This movie was such an example of all that was the mindset of the early 90s. From the look of the house Bakula owns which is what Hollywood wanted to make the viewer feel was the look of success and was used by so many other movies, not just erotic thrillers, at that time. The open space with very neat and maintained areas and different objects to display success, shit it was the same thing that Columbia House used to show in its commercials as sort of a "see how successful this dude is, he can buy CDs and listen to them whenever the fuck he feels like it in his sweet house." Then there were the bike shorts, the cell phones, and the idea of basically the last few taboos of sex finally being openly displayed on film. Also, did Bruce Willis just take over Scott Bakula's life after he died? He didn't have his name on the house's lease and I'm sure it isn't as easy as just saying to his patients "I'm your new shrink, tell me about how you are screwed up." I think there is a bit more to it than that, but then again I am not a psychiatrist just like Jason isn't a scientist.

Thank God Robot Chicken has covered this topic.
  17. Made a thread for this in the bad movie recommendations section. What's odd is that they show quite a few of the main characters dying in the trailer, leaving almost zero suspense to the film. http://forum.earwolf.com/topic/10991-pro-wrestlers-vs-zombies/

It was right when the first sex scene between Willis and the main girl started, right when they fall into the pool.

    The Purge (2013)

I'm actually looking forward to the sequel as it appears to delve into the premise where the first just started and then evolved into a home invasion film. This one actually appears to offer different views of the premise and give the viewer a real look at the overall mayhem such an event would cause and the separation between the have's and have not's.

    Episode 84.5 — Minisode 84.5

Yeah this was definitely a spank bank movie for me as a kid, especially since it was technically a drama and not a straight porno. I mean the length of the sex scenes must have been the impetus for Tommy Wiseau to make his sex scenes so frequent and long in the Room.

    Episode 84.5 — Minisode 84.5

Yeah they did this for a while with the live episodes where they would put a studio in between them. When they did the three shows at Bumbershoot, it took about two months for all three of those episodes to be released. It was only recently that they were releasing the live episodes one after the other. There was an article on IMDB or Cinema Blend where they talked about In Bruge and the author actually wrote a couple times that Dinklage was in the movie and people were incredibly pissed because all it would take to confirm that information was to look at the cast list.

    Sabotage (2014)

Holy shit I just thought of something about this movie, it's the prequel to the Last Stand. In Last Stand, we find out that Arnold was a former supercop in the LAPD who left after a bungled mission, causing him to go to the small town as sheriff. Yet what was shown in Sabotage was that he has some very powerful friends, including a couple presidents, who are able to end corruption cases against him and even get him control of his team again. It would make sense that those same friends would give him a slight cover by redacting the whole corruption of his team and their systematic destruction, along with the fact that he goes to Mexico to hunt cartel members and instead put a spin on it of him being a LAPD officer who left after his partner was crippled. That's why he is so adept at every gun he touches in Last Stand and that he has a great amount of knowledge on cartel members and is able to make such a ragtag group of guys a quality team of fighters against the mercenaries.
