He is an excellent actor, but over the past few years if he's been in a movie not named Red or Die Hard, he's been phoning it in terribly. It reminds me of the Wild, Wild West episode with Kevin Smith where he talked about how working with Willis was a completely different experience between Live Free or Die Hard and Cop Out, and you could tell watching both of those films.
-
It was a remote control gun to where he could hide it in a parked car and be able to fire from another location. It was so much more work than it was worth when he could have just used a sniper rifle and accomplish his job.

Another terrible movie I love to watch. This was one of first movies I remember as a kid where Willis was the bad guy (something he rarely does even to this day), so it was odd seeing him plotting an assassination and killing the loads of innocent people that he was killing. Also this was another movie in the early career of Jack Black where he was a nameless drone who dies a horrible death, along with I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

The Happening - (it's never happening, but talk about it if you want)
RyanSz replied to temjeito's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
Don't ask that question. The argument caused by it is the reason this is the longest thread in the HDTGM forum. -
That still leaves me with the bulk of my list, as a 90s kid I saw most of these in theaters.

Nic Cage had that 2-3 year window where he was having a huge action movie come out in the summer. I had forgotten that those two movies had come out within a couple months of each other. Then he did Snake Eyes which sort of put an end to him as a legit action star, yeah he did Ghost Rider but he never was able to get that spark back. DMX was only considered an action star at a time I think since he was being paired with established action stars like Jet Li, Steven Seagal, and Tom Arnold. -
That is fucking ingenious and I give props to Perry for liking the idea enough to want a poster for himself, because there isn't really anything being taken away from his movie as you have to really look for the image and it was only in a handful of markets. I never realized that there was a scripture verse on the poster, which just makes this movie that much more ham fisted.

1. Con Air & Face/Off - Solely for a Nic Cage fix. I would love to see them do a double feature live show of these two like they did for Stallone's Demolition Man and Over the Top. 2. Dreamcatcher - From shit weasels to Donnie Wahlberg going full tard, this movie is insane. 3. Southland Tales - This could easily be the first HDTGM episode that is 2 hrs long. 4. No Hold Barred or Ready to Rumble - The fact that these movies try to make wrestling seem real but fail even to do that. Plus the whole history behind Rumble is enough to fill a 90 minute episode. 5. Daredevil - Blind Ben Affleck, enough said. -
It was probably a representation of Eve and first sin. Using "Tyler Perry Logic" or TPL it would be safe to say that he would feel she was the one to first give into temptation, break her marriage vows, and do all the other horrible shit she does. So according to TPL, she is the embodiment of giving into temptation.

Oh so it was a different actress from the bulk of the story. I thought they had the counselor talking to the couple like William FIchtner in Mr. & Mrs. Smith where you just heard his voice but never saw him. That could have made for a better twist if they did that then spun around to reveal that the counselor and the woman being talked about were the same person.

Well with it being proposed by the director of Wanted and Abe Lincoln:Vampire Hunter, you know it's going to be insane if it ever gets made.

To be fair there have been so many revamps and new versions of the Twilight Zone it is hard to remember what happened when.

Just saw this and had a good time watching just mindless action. The problem here was how they tried to connect the two movies while still having some semblance of connection to the books, since the first movie went with a more upbeat view than the source material. I was surprised they left out the dog killing scene as that was one of the more tame things that happened in the book. The rape scene was actually turned into what Millar was trying to get across in the comment that got him in so much hot water. From what I've read about that whole thing, the only way I can seem him trying to make the point that he paints his villains in the worst possible light imaginable, and he's been able to do that in a lot of his books. Unfortunately he royally fumbled at the one yard line and he stuck his foot very far in his mouth. In the book it is very overtly implied what happens in that incident, wile in the movie Motherfucker is unable to get hard, and actually tries working himself up by jacking it a bit, only to be insulted by his intended victim and one of his cronies, ending with the woman just being beaten up. Millar is an acquired taste I will admit, when he's reigned in he does some really masterful work (Superior, the Civil War storyline, and Old Man Logan in particular), but when it's his independent work where he has total control he goes Nic Cage level insane which can turn some people away.

Yeah if anything, A Time to Kill or Runaway Jury would make for much better episodes for how batshit insane they are.

Another Johnny Depp pet project where he plays another Hunter S. Thompson character. This movie was portrayed as a comedy in trailers and while there are some small laughs in the movie, this whole thing falls almost completely flat. And what's worse is that this movie is a lllooonnnggg two hours. that it seems the director realized too late that they needed an ending so he put in a quicky PS saying what happened to the character instead of showing it. There were so many different stories within this movie but none were really finished and at the end, it happens so abruptly that it seems the director realized too late that they needed an ending so he put in a quicky PS saying what happened to the character instead of showing it. There is the appearance that an Accused-esque rape scene that is so racist I was shocked that it made the final cut instead of actual character development.

Same, I got it in one of those 4 DVD packs that Target sells.

Episode 69 — Crocodile Dundee In Los Angeles
RyanSz replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
And from what I've seen in the trailers for Machete Kills, Cuba doesn't even have a full role he's just a a disguise for Lady Gaga. I think he was just happy to be in a movie that was being released in theaters again. -
Hey, at least it was better than the original plan where Stallone was the upstart assassin while Banderas was the tired veteran, but the film makers realized Stallone looked decidedly older than Banderas and switched their parts.

See when I heard about critics being appalled at the violence, I feel it wasn't because there was a lot of it, which there was a good bit more than in Drive, but rather how graphic it was. From the cop slicing a guys chest open diagonally where you see cut ribs to the driveby to the torture scene, it was pretty cringeworthy at times. And I could easily see Kristen Scott Thomas getting a best supporting actress nomination for her role since the Academy loves to give nominations to people who break out of their comfort zone in roles.

The only character who I remember even seeing a transsexual was Giovanni Ribisi's character but it was a witch doctor that he frequented.

This movie was awesomely bad and Sam Jackson's death is one of the best shocks in an action movie. The movie just sort of apes the Jaws series and the idea of a shark with an agenda. Hell, even how the sharks die in this movie mimic how the sharks die in Jaws: one is blown up with gas, one is electrocuted, and the other is unrealistically blown up with an arrow. Yet the best part of this movie is how the main female doctor dies. Apparently she was supposed to live in the first cut of the movie, but when the crew saw the visceral reaction viewers had towards her, they re-shot the ending so that she would have a audience pleasing death. Because let's face it, the reason almost everyone dies in this movie is because of her dumb ass.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life
RyanSz replied to AndyTalarzyk's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
The only good thing to come out of both Tomb Raider movies was that it introduced movie goers to Daniel Craig and Gerard Butler, oh and a fight between Angelina Jolie and a killer robot that she for some reason owns.- 2 replies

Nic Cage: I can eat a peach for hours. (Face/Off) Nic Cage: Why couldn't you just put the bunny back in the box? (Con Air) John Malkovitch: Make a move and the bunny gets it. (Con Air)
