I honestly think that this movie is a version of "Saints Row" of action movies, if you know that game. The first game started as a semi-grounded gang warfare game, but each sequel has gotten more and more insane leading up to the upcoming fourth game where the main character is the President of the United States who fights aliens and has superpowers. These movies are great mindless action flicks, but Vin Diesel is a terrible actor. Every time he had that dumb smirk on his face like he just did the world's greatest burn, I wanted to punch him. The comedy wasn't doing anything for me as they seemed like just bland easy jokes. But the reason I was watching the movie, the action, was top notch. The only unfortunate thing was that they showed the FUCKING ENDING in every trailer. Also, how many people were fucking crushed by that tank? That was a sociopathic level of murder on a grand scale. Giselle's death was shocking as she didn't have to die, she has shown to be a fantastic shot, but when she lets go of the car to sacrifice herself and shoot the guy trying to get Han, she shot with her free hand so she could have held onto Han and just fired over him. And how bad must it suck for the Brazilian cop to have been in a pretty serious relationship with Dom, but he throws her away like garbage for the chick who shot him because of his numerous talks of "family." And why the fuck would those guys give up their awesome lives in Spain with fucking mansions overlooking the ocean for a rundown shitty house in East LA? That just made me angry.

I had to miss the last 40 minutes of the movie because I mistimed it when I bought tickets to it and Hangover 3, but I caught it fully yesterday after hearing about the credits scene. The action was great in this movie, but for some reason the story connecting it was unnecessarily long winded. Diesel still has a double chin and looks chunky in comparison to the Rock, and he was chewing up scenery something fierce. Finally now there is an established line of chronology to the movies and it looks like Lucas Black will probably return for the seventh flick.

Yeah this was his last movie. He's in it for about 5 minutes and then just disappears, which happens to a lot of characters in the movie. They come in, have a couple lines, then either disappear or are murdered violently.

Well in Tango & Cash it was Jack Palance who instead of just killing the main characters and getting on with his criminal empire, plays games with them just because, ultimately leading to his death.

Zoolander is an example of the craziness that worked because it was overtly absurd with gas fights and model hitmen, and for the most part it worked in Mystery Men. I nominated in on how bonkers crazy it was while still trying to play it with a straight face. It's like if you sat someone down and said watch any Sly Stallone movie from the mid 80s to mid 90s and they didnt know what they were watching. There you have a guy playing it straight but being overtly absurd for the most part (Cobra, Tango & Cash). This had that same feel to me at various points before bouncing back to a Zoolander-esque style.

What I love about Stallone's movies in the late 80s was that they all had the soundtrack made up of Gloria Estefan backing tracks. There are guys being murdered and its upbeat pop music playing.

Well I had the same question about the city and the people. At one point the girl that Ben Stiller has a crush on was wearing a regular waitress outfit and then all of a sudden she is wearing kimonos. I think they were going for what DC was doing where their cities were a mix of cultures/styles ans weren't easy to determine where they were.

That's just not right.

Oh I love the movie too and own the damn thing, like the vast majority of my recommendations, but I'm aware enough to realize it would make for a good episode. Ben Stiller looks like he wanted to be anywhere else but on that movie and Pee Wee Herman was happy to just have a job. Janene Garafallo, Wes Studi, and William H. Macy were truly having a great time playing their roles. Tom Waits is always a treat but you can never tell if it's him acting or if he just took a hallucinogenic before each of his scenes in every movie he's done.

Well having just finished rewatching it, I was amazed when in the first three minutes, Tom Waits was giving an elderly woman what appeared to be a vial of drugs at a retirement home party. Then there are the sets that are a mix of Chinese slums and Detroit with a little bit of Gotham City thrown in. I would actually have liked to see more of Kinnear as Capt. Amazing as he seemed to be really having fun with it. And let's not forget that there are cameos from Michael Bay and Riki Rachtman as members of the Frat Boys, Cee Lo Green as a member of the "Not-So-Goodie Mob," Dana Gould in a quick bit as squeegee man, and Dane Cook as the Waffler which even back then showed how he draws out his jokes way beyond the point of being humorous.

Well we know Jason would like this as we found out that he is not a scientist.

I'm seeing this on Saturday and it will be the first time that I am seeing a Fast movie in theaters. This movie looks completely insane. As for the guys not doing the Happening, I honestly think that it will be the next live episode since those episodes usually cover extremely crazy movies (Superman 3, Birdemic, From Justin to Kelly) and the fan interaction for those movies adds to the entertainment value. Plus with FYI, I think that is best understood as a guide tool for what MAY be coming up, not what WILL be coming up. There will be things that would have precedent over the movies that rank high on the list, they wouldn't review Space Jam in October when they would normally do a horror movie, or in December when they pick a bad Christmas movie. The movies will be gotten to, it just may take some time to get to them since the show is done every other week. I think that should be the next push from fans by the way, trying to get the show to do a full episode every week rather than every other week. Have the full episode on Tuesday with the miniepisode for the next episode on either Thursday or Friday.

THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!!!!!!!

I think that may have been for Bullocks eyebrows in the movie. If you watch closely, it's like the cop's tape mustache at the end of Sleepaway Camp, where her eyebrows change from scene to scene. One second they are full and dark, the other they are literally drawn onto her face. Plus, was I the only one hoping to find out she was a corrupt cop in the spiritual leader's pocket? Think about it, she has a home and office at work that are filled with various illegal contraband including daggers and samurai swords and goes against nearly every set guideline of how to act in public by cheering for violence, acting negatively about things, etc. She does all of these things and isn't in the cryoprison and in fact still has her job as a cop?! I think she was the above ground version of Wesley Snipes, killing miscreants for petty crimes, but she wouldn't be prepared for the fight that she would get from Dennis Leary's people so the leader unfroze Wesley Snipes to be his assassin for that job.

Especially considering that it is a rarity almost to the level of taboo to show a kid being killed on screen, especially at that time. Granted he was teen, but with how all of the kids were acting like children the whole movie, it definitely was shocking.

A thousand times yes to this.

Yeah it was when the priest and punks were killed and then put in the basement. It allowed for the zombie baby to be born.

How dare you hate on Joe Esposito. -
Apparently, the director's cut has seen the light of day as it was shown at one of the first Butt-Numb-Athons, so hopefully there is an actual DVD coming out or someone recorded that shit with their phone.

Big Bully (Rick Moranis and Tom Arnold, together at last!!!)
RyanSz replied to Eringoblah's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
This movie was nuts, I remember there being a subplot where teachers thought Moranis was on crack and that Tom Arnold's parents abandoned him while he was in juvenile hall. -

No, but the comic showed all of his surgeries as if he the cover for Operation. And there was a scene Tony Montana choked a street dealer with his colostomy bag. -

Well there were actually a couple different "sequels" to Scarface. The first was a video game released in 2007 where the game starts at the mansion assault and is an alternate take of it where Tony survives, kills all of his attackers, and escapes. He then loses everything when the government seizes his property and he has nothing. Tony decides to quit cocaine and get his revenge on Sosa for the rest of the game while rebuilding his empire. The game was a GTA style shooter that had the nice little touch of the player being unable to shoot female characters, even if you tried you would just get Tony saying he doesn't do that. The game was actually really good for a movie adaptation. The more true "sequel" was a graphic novel released a few years back which follows the movie in that Tony was shot in the back and thought dead. But when Feds begin going over the crime scene, paramedics realize Tony is still alive due to the massive amount of cocaine in his system, which amped his adrenaline up to where his heart was still pumping. After massive surgery to save him, Tony his held as against his will by corrupt cops looking to ransack whats left of his empire. He begins building up his empire again and eventually kills Sosa, only to find out his wife is now married to his rival. -
Yeah how come her annoying ass couldn't get mowed down by the Green Goblin truck?

I honestly think Peter Jackson took acid and decided to make a puppet movie with Meet the Feebles.
