This movie was horrible. I remember there being a huge subplot where Pacino thought McC was banging Renee Ruso his wife, and for some reason they let him believe it even though they were just talking about random shit. What's great about it is that Pacino is so mercurial in the movie, one second thanking McC for having great picks and making the firm money and then the next second telling him to go fuck himself if he doesn't like his cut of the profits because he asked wrong.

Grindhouse(Planet Terror and/or Death Proof)
RyanSz replied to TessWhite's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
I saw the double feature in theaters and was surprised that some people didn't realize that it was a DOUBLE FEATURE. These movies were nuts, especially Planet Terror. I actually think that Tarantino was inspired by that movie when he did the special effects for Django Unchained. -
I just wish there was a picture of the grocery store that was sold out of tomato paste in order to make that scene.

I loved this movie as a kid for how over the top gory it was. From the party massacre to the whole lawnmower scene it was nuts from top to bottom. Then for some reason they throw in the plot point of the mom killing the main character's dad and the priest who "kicks ass for the lord" and the punk who gets castrated while pissing on the mom's grave, this movie is perfect for a Halloween episode.

I first heard about this from Patton Oswalt's CD and then rented it from Netflix. It is fucking nuts to say the least. And watching people getting eaten is like watching something dissolve in acid in a science classroom. What's funnier is when someone has their hands eaten and for the rest of the movie they have two plastic skeleton hands from a science display that they are holding onto inside their coat.

Oh I had the soundtrack because I loved the Diva song and was hoping for the song that was played during the car chase "Alech Taadi" by Khaled, but it was left off. But the soundtrack was basically the diva song played in different ways for the whole thing.

Isn't that everything Skeet has done not named Scream?

Agree completely, this was the first real movie in the downfall of Nic Cage. He did Face/Off which was pretty crazy, but to quote Jason this was "next level bonkers." I honestly think Cage was on coke the whole movie. It was an interesting premise where you saw the whole incident through various snipets and character POVs. Cage is nuts as the blatantly corrupt cop while wearing a suit that I assume was from his personal collection.

That was this movie's "My Heart Will Go On." And if you pay attention, the movie had a soundtrack done like most movies at that time, where there would be the huge song on the soundtrack and all of the instrumental tracks would be variations of that song's backing track.

It is kinda a Captain Planet ending since it is the same five elements that make up the hero/weapon.

Agree completely. With all of the crazy things that happen in this movie, one would think that it is a jumbled mess, but it works so well. The editing that connects the various conversations was done very well and created some good comedy and Willis wasn't phoning it in, which can't be said about his roles now that aren't attached to a Die Hard or Expendable film.

I did sort of reference him with the dick pompadour. And I honestly think this movie while everyone was on LSD and watching Star Wars. I also forgot to mention that Milla Jovavich gets upset and doesn't want to save the world after learning what WAR is on her little ship computer; I'm guessing she was fine learning about KILL, MURDER, RAPE, and GENOCIDE.

I'm sorry, but for some reason no one can get it right in regards to how many killers made up Sid 6.7, one point in the movie listed at 200, IMDB has it at 150, other sources list it as 666. That is an argument that I'd love to hear on the show.

Well and from what I've read the movie is an uber religious/morality movie. The female lead turns her back on her family and religion and then has HORRIBLE things happen to her which is explained as the results of turning her back on said things.

I'm bumping this in hopes this will be talked about on the show when it comes out in a couple weeks like Breaking Dawn 2.

As did I, but now I have fucking fanboys calling me out saying people who liked it are not real fans. Granted these people calling themselves mighty Thor or Tony Stark99 were only "die hard fans" of Iron Man and Thor after movies were announced and know nothing of my bookshelves of comics/graphic novels. If it wasn't the twist of him not being the Mandarin they would have complained about him not being Asian enough or that he didn't use his magic rings. Fanboys are the reason we have the saying of "this is why we can't have nice things."
-
The twist surrounding the Mandarin I thought was brilliant marketing, because I doubt many people legitimately expected it. Fanboys are pissed because it's not like in the comics, but they were already pissed that he wasn't Asian, though that was done to not have Fu Manchu imagery and the studio was working with China for some scenes. ****SPOILER****** Well my date and I were whispering to each other throughout the movie, "You think anyone is going to ask why Ghandi is bombing people or ask is that Ben Kingsley?" And then it was revealed that he was an actor in the film we both started cracking up at how we lucked into being right about the twist.

My thoughts exactly, the first movie was made to introduce a B level comic character to casual viewers and the villain wasn't too huge for a new superhero. The second one was good but focused more on Stark's health rather than the conflict with the villains and was a preamble for the Avengers. I actually thought the third was the most complete film as it connected in a great way with everything that has happened so far with the character while not being a long trailer for Avengers 2 like fanboys have been harping about. You had character issues leftover from the Avengers, which I also liked having had panic attacks before, and you had villains who could measure up to the lead characters and connect back to the first movie if you really think about it. ****SPOILER**** ****SPOILER**** ****SPOILER**** ****SPOILER**** ****SPOILER**** ****SPOILER**** ****SPOILER**** ****SPOILER**** ****SPOILER**** ****SPOILER**** Because since Guy Pierce was revealed to be the true Mandarin, it is easy to say that Raza (Faran Tahir) was going to be the original choice for "The Mandarin" as he stated he received his rings from a powerful man who taught him many things in order to lead The Ten Rings. He was an actual fighter who would be willing to attack America in exchange for Extremis and to spread his message. Yet Pierce couldn't anticipate Obadiah Stane hating Stark as much as him, to the point of putting a hit out on him. So when that got bungled and Stane killed Raza, Pierce's character had to go to plan B with Ben Kingsley in an environment that he could control completely.

I actually was surprised that I liked the movie as much as I had since I read the news stories about the real Sun Gym gang and was concerned that Bay was making a straight up comedy with likeable killers. I think the movie would make for a good episode for how insane it was, but more so that most of that stuff happened although with some theatrics. The Rock was easily the best part of the film with how straight he was playing it before falling off the wagon in the second half of the film. The only problem I see is that Rob Corddry is in it.

I loved this movie as spoof of 50s B movies. I was amazed at how many name actors that they were able to get for this movie only for them to die in horrible ways.
-
I myself loved the movie. The humor was pretty good and allowed for Downey Jr. to flow, especially with the little kid. The villains felt full and fleshed out in comparison to the first two movies and the movie's twist was something I didn't see coming. Fanboys have been upset because the Mandarin wasn't what they were expecting so now they are all butthurt. I really liked Captain America since they didn't try to change the origin of the character. I am interested to see the "fish out of water" story that the sequel is going to be as well as how they explain Bucky's return as well as seeing the possible fight between Captain America and UFC champ Georges St. Pierre's mercenary character.

Could have been worse, she could have taken you to "From Justin to Kelly."
-
What kind of bad decision?
-
No way this gets done on the show unless they are just not going to have June on the episode, since she has gone on to say that violence/gore really upsets her.
-
I would think that from first looking at it, but from the looks of it, it appears to be less chaotic and more focused on the human aspect of the whole thing, especially with how the two pilots link their minds to use the robots.
