The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994)
RyanSz replied to Dylanbydesign's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
It was an Illuminati experiment to see how people reacted to their worst fear or something like that but I knew that's who the group was.- 27 replies

Apparently the Werewolves were part of an early draft of the script which included Wendigos and an animated sequence, but it shot the budget up to 250 million, When production stopped the script was altered and the budget lowered to a semi-reasonable 200 million for a summer movie. My issue with the movie is they are making it seem that Tonto is the main character. I don't know if this is just gotcha marketing to bring people into the movie and then have the Lone Ranger be the actual focal point or if they are having Tonto as the lead because its Johnny Depp. My other issue is that the origin is changed from him being injured in an ambush to him coming back to life, which just seems hokey for a western.

It out Burning Bedded the Burning Bed.

Yeah I think this one is just bad outside of the final Home Alone-esque setup towards the final fight.
-
Yeah the Arnold one-liner machine is in full force in this movie and I love it so much more for it.

The dubbed version really blew as it still has a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Frighteners, oh my god, THE FRIGHTENERS!

I really liked this movie because this was before Peter Jackson became an auteur and took himself too seriously. With splatstick movies like Dead Alive (Braindead), Meet the Feebles, and this, you could see that he was having schlocky fun with the movies rather than trying to make them super detailed or about the art of movies. -
It's like someone tried to make an American version of a Japanese Gore film. And did you notice the floating dicks behind the head of the mullet character during the trippy head shots?
-
The third one had Natasha Henstridge in it for a brief second in the beginning.
-
It also had a skinny-ish Alfred Molina, though I think the sequel is way more insane with instant babies and a guy regrowing his head after blowing it off with a shotgun.

Episode 55 — The Devil's Advocate: LIVE!
RyanSz replied to admin's topic in How Did This Get Made?
But his name is Mystery, so his tips must be legit. -
The most insane thing about this is that Katie Holmes turned down The Dark Knight to do this movie.

I had such high hopes for Revolver after seeing the trailer and who was in it. Then I watched it and found out it was made so Richie could profess his love for Kabbalah and psyche mumbo jumbo, it sucked the life out of me.

Having just bought this grindhouse-esque movie, I can say this is a great movie for HDTGM, based on craziness alone. The cast is made up entirely of character actors and is written by one of the assistants from Millionaire Matchmaker. A pretty decent idea about a heist crew trying to find missing loot and the titular Sushi Girl having to keep calm and still throughout the whole ordeal. It features Mark Hamill in full Joker mode, Tony Todd Candymanning it up, Danny Trejo in a brief cameo as a guy named Schlomo, and enough over the top violence to make Eli Roth cum. It's basically Reservoir Dogs meets Hostel.

Yeah I really want to see John Dies as I've only heard good things about it and I loved Bubba Ho-Tep. I did hear the SFX can seem a bit SyFyish but it is otherwise really good. As far as Hamill being in the new Star Wars movies, they could deal with it by having him say he's gotten fat in his old age, but he is still strong in the Force. Overall I was really surprised by how much I liked Sushi Girl in the end. I loved the mix of character actors like Tony Todd, Hamill, Trejo, and that the Fish character played Atreyu in The Neverending Story. For the most part there weren't any huge plot holes outside of who Jeff Fahey said the gang was ripping off, would have liked to know if it was the mob or some other organization.

Because why not? that's why. -
Yeah I liked the movie, I just wasn't expecting the medieval/Gladiator segment of the movie as it made zero sense.

Episode 55 — The Devil's Advocate: LIVE!
RyanSz replied to admin's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I actually just realized something about this movie and the "loop theory" that was brought up in the show. When Keanu is about to go to the bone zone with his sister, he cites free will and blows his brains out and foils Satan's plan for the Antichrist. He then wakes up back in the bathroom where he is defending the molester teacher. This is Keanu's personal Hell. By killing himself he committed a cardinal sin and thus banishing his soul to Hell. This in turn gives Pacino as many chances as he needs in order to create the Antichrist because his son is now permanently within his domain, creating the loop for Keanu. -
What sucks more is that they had talked about bringing Paul back for the sequel which would have been another great episode.
-
How did it get lost? That sucks as it was a great episode. If I knew how to attach mp3s I'd post it for all to enjoy.
-
That was it. Unless it was something universally crappy/big like Breaking Dawn, they wanted fans to be able to find these things for cheap or free.
-
Holy shit, having just read the wiki page for the movie, this definitely needs to be done on the show.

Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan
RyanSz replied to RyanSz's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
The nipple scene was with the geeky virgin who was trying to bone the robot who initially killed OG Jason before he got spaced up. He gives her nipples as a gift to make her feel like a real woman and the slip off her chest very creepily. I forgot Cronenberg was in this, though he has been known to cameo in movies as some weird character or another (the assassin in To Die For, the supervisor in The Stupids). His only really big role was as the serial killer in Nightbreed. -

Easily the best scene of that movie outside of the robot's nipples falling off. -
Thankfully I have never seen this movie all the way through, just bits and pieces. I still remember that damn roller coaster is the thing nightmares are made up of and that Tupac was for some reason in this.
