You could make that amount only making a small big bets on huge upsets and some of the proven biggest bet wins of all time especially huge upsets which could be deemed as luck to bookies or casinos. One guy made a bet on a particular jockey winning all of his races on a given day, and made what amounted to almost 900k off a 100 dollar bet, converted from pounds. A guy won 760k from a 10 cent bent on a superfecta at the horse races in 2008, so who's to say that they couldn't do the same on any race within reason. Or even putting a big bet on the Mike Tyson/Buster Douglas where Douglas was a 42-1 underdog. It could be done reasonably well by McComb and his crew to do appearing as either a whale in the casino or a lucky better and reach the desired amount, raising the same number of eyebrows if they basically ended up owning major shares in the biggest success stories from the Depression. Plus if mobsters or poor loses wanted to hunt down who beat them so soundly, just whip out some future weapons and blow their asses away before going back to the present.

A Couple Questions: In regards to Actor/Activist Ron Silver's plan to get money for his campaign, why not just go the Biff Tannen route and place a bunch of bets on various sporting events? I would think it's an easier to explain being a good gambler/having a great streak of luck rather than being the dude who got all of his money by owning majority shares of companies that crapped out in the Depression only to come back even better? I think a lot more heads would turn if Actor/Activist Silver's revealed to have gotten his billions by basically out-Rockefeller'ed Rockefeller than if having his various underlings win big on sports bets and place the money in a bank account. Also, if JCVD knew Actor/Activist Silver was the bad guy, why not go from Timecop to Timepunisher and waste him before he gets any modicum of power? That way Silver is not trying to fuck with the timestream and JCVD doesn't have to worry about bad dudes coming from the future to kill his wife. Possible Explanation: As for not knowing anything about his kid, this has been brought up about the Back to the Future Timeline, namely the end of the first movie where Marty comes back and his family is now well off and amazing. He has no knowledge of this family and they have no knowledge of the family he knew so the theory is that he would basically have a mental breakdown and be institutionalized because his family would think he went off the deep end. I can't remember who from the film said it but basically Marty's original memories would be melted away or mended with the new Marty memories in order to avoid a paradox in the timestream, so the same might be said for this film to where JCVD eventually gets the memories of the version of himself from the new timestream. Also, there is VR Porn, but it's basically like what studios will do with movies when they retroactively add 3D to a movie that didn't have it by making it seem like there is depth to the image that you are looking at, albeit it's from a first person POV for porn. Sincerely, Librarian/Movie Lover Ryan Sz

I first heard about this movie through Cracked's series of articles about movies that aren't getting the type of mainstream promotion that they should be, it's basically a movie that acknowledges its small budget and makes a fun looking comedy. It has an element of weirdness that reminds me of John Dies at the End, and with comedians like Nick Thune and James Urbaniak, it makes me more excited to see it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzikIwPPle0

I thought Farrell did well for what he was bringing to the table as an awkward dad who lets loose when drunk/inebriated while Poehler seemed to be holding back despite the movie being R rated. I also enjoyed that the many side characters were allowed to have their moments during the movie, but yeah Jason is the home run king of the movie. I will say that Baby Driver is an amazing film and needs to be seen. It's not like prior Edgar Wright films which are a lot of nods to other genre films, but rather an amazing music opus that blends with the action you are seeing on screen. John Hamm steals the show as the father/brotherly figure to Baby in one scene and a psychopathic, heartbroken killer in the next. The weakest part of the movie is Jamie Foxx who chews up scenery way more than he should, but it doesn't completely distract from the scenes that he's in. As for the Immortals, I don't think the show will run long enough to introduce Kamala unless they completely rush into the Terrigen Mist storyline from the comics. With how bad it looks, I don't seeing it lasting for long, especially when they can bring a character like Ms. Marvel into the MCU rather than a low-rent TV show. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they go that route now that it's been mentioned that after the Defenders comes out, there is going to be more integration between the Marvel shows and the Marvel movies.

Yeah got it on the cheap too, since they are computer animators. Ang Lee told me about a Groupon I could use and I also tossed in a bucket of KFC. Then BAM, Space Camp re-enactment.
-
So I take it you're not going to like my animated re-enactment of when I tried to recreate the love scene from Moonraker while at Space Camp? I mean because it's done classy and the guys at Pixar did a great job animating it.

Can't wait for the breakdown of Timecop. Also see The House, IT'S FUCKING HILARIOUS, filled with HDTGM All-Stars who all crush, and Zouks KILLS IT the whole movie.

Oh they've been tee-ing it up for awhile on Agents, but even before that any chance they had to include the characters while removing the X-Men or making the X-Men outright villains has been happening pretty hard in the comic universe, since at the time the Inhumans had less name recognition than the Guardians of the Galaxy. Though this was also when it seemed that the Inhumans were going to be the tent-pole movie of Phase 3 or 4 of the MCU. They seemed to change their mind when the characters as a team weren't hitting it off with readers, unlike single characters like Moon Girl and Ms. Marvel which would be much better suited for a Marvel film, especially since they have a Bacon-esque degree of separation with characters like Captain Marvel, Hulk, and Spider-Man. Also if you guys haven't read it yet, pick up Spider-Man/Deadpool vol 2. because it has Scott Aukerman and Paul as guest writers and they have some great Easter eggs for Earwolf fans.

Yeah Black Bolt has super volume to his voice, so he doesn't talk much but was a voice of knowledge that people always went to, eventually having him be part of Iron Man's shitty Illuminati. The reason for the Inhuman's "popularity" over the last few years is because Marvel has been creating new ones every minute in order to have super powered characters in their cinematic universe since the X-Men are owned cinematically by Fox and Marvel decreed to their comic writers that there to be no more new mutants which could be used in Fox films. My main issue with the Inhumans in the comics at least is that they are more self-righteous and elitist than Iron Man and Mr. Fantastic at their worst. The recent run for Inhumans vs. X-Men doesn't really have me cheering for them as while the gas that turns people Inhuman can kill a mutant, their response has basically boiled down to "eh fuck em, there are more of us now."

Having read that article, it seems like this movie was the Lifetime Channel's chance to make a big theatrical release and they put up a bunch of plot devices on a cork board and threw darts at it to determine what the movie would be. There's the Rear Window influence, some 13 Reasons Why mixed with PS I Love You with the tape, some whimsical Pee-Wee Herman elements, any number of know-it-all 90s kid movies mixed in for good measure. It's not surprising that a good number of known actors signed on for this as Treverrow is a huge name director and Gregg Hurwitz is an established writer. Reading the wiki for the movie is mind-boggling in how scatterbrained the movie is.

See if they were to do a double show on shitty fighting movies it needs to be Undefeatable and either Deadly Prey which has one of the most insane final fights ever, or City Dragon which is a mix of early 90s hip hop movie, bad kung fu, and one of the serious episodes of Fresh Prince of Bel Air, hell the main actor is named MC Kung Fu. Fuck it, they should do Miami Connection too. Why can't they give us a new full episode each week?!

In regards to the end and some things that happened in the comics, I seriously hope they at least make reference to that as that could make for an amazing movie.
-
I punched out about 15 minutes in, as it wasn't grabbing me. While I love horrible movies that have bad fight scenes, like in Deadly Prey or Undefeatable, this one just came off as unenthusiastic like many of the Iron Fist fight scenes. What's interesting is in some of the reviews of this movie most seem to think that if the movie just stuck to the main plot of the ninjas fighting over the statue, it would be a decent film, but it gets so muddled down in worthless side stories and non sequiturs, don't know if that's true but it certainly wouldn't hurt.

A couple years ago there was a guy who for some reason had a grudge against the UFC and was citing obscure and/or vague wikipedia rules to either condense or eliminate pages about the various fight cards. MMA fans and reporters got up in arms about it and if you checked the edit history for the pages it was just a battle between this one guy and every angry fight fan on wikipedia. Thing was, the guy spent most of his time editing all of these obscure pages based around roads and various highways, and then just did a sharp switch and started attacking the UFC. It just astounded me and how little life a person had to a) find it necessary to edit wiki pages for roads and alter his target to fight card information because he felt it was taking up too much space on the internet.
-
Even better is its wikipedia page where the description that it's being covered by the show is almost as long as the brief plot summary.
-
Starting to wonder if this is a Top Dog/Theodore Rex situation where something happened with the audio and they just haven't found the right way to tell us yet or hope that we forget that the shows took place.
-
That whole thing had me wondering then about how they explain how the numerous wars after occurred if that was taken care of in this film? Okay so this is apparently the slasher version of Before I Fall.

Good lord that man hasn't aged a day since Next Generation. I will sometimes get the same reaction from people who think I really young if I shave, but if I don't any picture of me looks like perpetually stoned caveman, so it's an either or choice for me.

Also, I couldn't get out of my head how bad the accents were for the other Amazons has the actresses were clearly instructed to try and match Gal's accent. Robin Wright, who was great in this, just couldn't do a convincing accent as neither could anyone else, so it all just came off as like when Brad Pitt tried to do an Irish accent in The Devil's Own.

I liked it as well though I felt they could have done more with the story than just a basic origin story. Another thing I found unfortunate was that the reveal of who the villain is was kinda telegraphed since the film had really only two major actors and the rest of the cast were character actors, so by process of elimination you could figure out who was going to be in the final reveal. I loved the action and felt that it moved smoothly and didn't seemed forced or stilted as other films have shown. I do wish that they kept more of the gods as they could have pulled a bit from the amazing Azzarello run of Wonder Woman, but they still did a fantastic job.

I don't know much about the character outside of the stuff I've read in various Marvel crossovers, but this does look pretty good and considering how well Marvel has created intro movies for characters that aren't well known to the masses, this should be an interesting film.
