Episode 158 - Body Parts: LIVE!

So far I've liked what I've seen, and like Luke Cage I only have the briefest of knowledge on the character. The fighting is pretty fluid and it carries that Marvel humor pretty well. One thing I can't get out of my head is how the character Ward looks and sounds like Justin Long's gay pornstar character from Zack and Miri Make a Porno.

One thing that bugged the hell outta me with that scene is that they aren't wearing complete face masks. There is an inmate's blood flying EVERYWHERE, and the amount of diseases that fly around a prison population is horrifying. I don't even think the guards were wearing the masks that the doctors were wearing. It is wildly irresponsible.

Never really had an issue with Pop or Pops, but no one should ever use the words Daddy or Mommy as a descriptor for their parents past the age of 5.

    Rollerball (2002)

Nope, not Alex Jones, but rather current WWE manager Paul Heyman. Also the writer of this movie seemed to realize how bullshit the Rollerball game was by having Heyman spend a few minutes trying to explain the rules before abruptly stopping and telling the audience, "aw fuck it, you guys don't care about this shit."

Episode 158 - Body Parts: LIVE!

Correction: Regarding the confusion over if the killer got out of prison to commit more crimes because of the space between the dates of his killings/arson/etc, those dates aren't necessarily dates of convictions, but rather the dates when the times took place and he was eventually charged for. Someone like Jeffrey Dahmer who had murders spread out over thirteen years, according to his rap sheet they will list the charges for the dates that the crime was committed. Now a space like the movie killer had could mean that he got arrested for something which would have prevented hm from committing crimes. That's not to say he wasn't charged for crimes within prison, which can happen, either adding time to an inmates total sentence or affecting their chance at parole. For example, an inmate at my job made a threat against my life which led to him being charged, and though he got paroled a few months later and released from my prison, the charge meant that he was not completely paroled but actually held in custody in his parole county to serve out the time of the sentence for the charge of threatening me. As for the surgery and how the killer's body was handled, there is no way the Justice Dept. would allow for a still living inmate to have his head removed while he was still alive. I first thought maybe he'd been given a lethal injection prior to the operation, but the heart monitor shows him as still alive and there would be no reason for a posse of armed guards surrounding him if he were already dead.

    The Evil Within (2017)

For a second I thought this was an adaptation of the Capcom survival horror game of the same name, but this looks like utter dogshit. Though the plot seems to be just as insane as the game's.

I gleamed over it as well but when reading the summary on wikipedia to get answers to some of my questions, it said she was his mother who was doing the surgeries to have him avoid the electric chair.

Episode 158 - Body Parts: LIVE!

Haven't listened to the episode yet but I needed to ask this question while it was still fresh in my head. Question Why does the killer and his mom not just transport his brain into a new body? By having the same face and body parts it can easily be determined that he is not dead, rather than if he was in a new body thus making it harder to determine what he was doing? At the least, he should not want his arms back since his fingerprints are on file with any legal database along with the tattoo that they apparently mark all death row inmates like a war camp prisoner. Correction/Omition I had to laugh a bit at the scenes in the prison hospital that showed every guard walking around carrying a shotgun. In no way would this happen as at any time an inmate could grab one of those and use it against civilians. Even when an inmate is transferred to a hospital for a medical need, they are transported by two guards, only one of which is armed with a rifle, and the tail car only has a couple guards that only carry a small number of weapons in case of an attempted escape/jailbreak.

    Episode 157.5 - Minisode 157.5

To be fair the Simpsons episode changed a bit from what is in this movie, so there should be a somewhat surprise for you, as Snake's hair was killing people in the Simpson's segment, but there's a bit more to it with this movie. I will warn you that the inciting car crash in this movie is terrifyingly realistic since it was still the time of practical effects. Watching it I have to believe that they were lucky that the stuntman survived and kept that take in the film, which is apparently how all stuntmen want it. I think the makers of Final Destination 2 saw this movie and said to themselves, "we can top that with our freeway pileup massacre."

It's not too bad for a B-Level early 90s horror movie, definitely worthy of this show.

While she has the online trolls, because they will never go away no matter who it is, her controversy blew over pretty quickly in comparison to a few noted thieves. Mencia's career is non-existent after the constant haranguing from comedians like Joe Rogan and Ari Shaffir, especially in one video where they confront him on-stage. Dane Cook is nowhere near the popularity he was at his peak after getting called out by guys like Louis C.K. and others, and Dennis Leary's standup career is basically dead after being hounded even to this day by multiple people about basically taking his entire act from Bill Hicks. In Amy's case I was actually surprised at how quickly it went away from the public eye especially considering that it all started up around the time Trainwreck had come out and was hosting SNL soon after, so her public visibility was at an all time high. So finally the Masterpiece is going to see the light of day? Thank god.

Started watching Body Parts and so far my biggest question is why wasn't Jeff Fahey put under before having to witness a body being decapitated right fucking next to him?! Even though they were starting to put him under they basically had him facing an utter horror show that would send him into hysterics and make him probably the least manageable body to perform surgery on. Also am I the only one that found it ironic that the actor who played the killer that Fahey got his arm from is named John Walsh?
  14. I'll do this every once in a while between episodes, though I don't download the mini episodes. Usually can listen to a couple episodes during my down time at my job, and have thus gotten my inmate clerks really into the show, though my older clerk doesn't care for the language. Right now in my current marathon I'm on the Croc Dundee episode.

    Chopping Mall (1986)

They were there to act as night security against any burglars, while also being able to differentiate between staff who might be leaving late at night. Unfortunately, the people who made these robo-guards never took lightning into account as their Laws of Robotics were shorted out in one thunderstorm causing them to be hostile to everyone.
  16. In a situation like that I've found that searching lead actor names helps as more often than not searching this forum for Arnold will be enough to bring up all of the threads for his bad movies.

    Mortal Kombat Annihilation (1997)

I liked Armageddon for the fact that it had all of the characters that had been in the games, but it came at the cost of fatalities and that horrible "make-a-fatality" feature which sucked ass.

    The Edge of Seventeen (2016)

Now to be fair, the show has covered movies that were in the 80s and 90s on RT (Sharknado, Face/Off), so it's not out of the shows range to go for a crazy but well liked film. Granted this movie is not this show's kinda crazy.

    Mortal Kombat Annihilation (1997)

They did the web series which started out really good with a kind of Dark Knight grittiness but it sorta faltered when the studio got more involved with the creator of the series. I know they were originally going to give him the go ahead to make a new movie but it's been in development hell for a couple years now. I absolutely love the last two MK games because they are in essence a reboot of the series, which used time travel as a way to create new storylines and still be able to mention back to the original stories. WB has done a great job in allowing this universe to grow and create well loved characters in a video game universe that for the most part are known by even casual gamers, which is tough for fighting games with dozens of characters. Speaking of the DC crossover, they are finally releasing a sequel to their DC fighting game, Injustice, which quite possibly have the best crossover story development I have ever seen with the comic books that have fleshed out an alternate universe wherein Superman is a tyrannical dictator who took over the world with the help of Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern, while Batman leads the rebellion against him with the help of Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Constantine, and others. If you haven't read them I can't recommend them highly enough. And it only gets more awesome and insane from there. Also in regards to this film, I'm honestly considering showing this and the first one as a Sunday double feature at my job, because I have no other ideas for the coming month. I was considering Thunderball and You Only Live Twice as I have been showing the Bond films in order but I figure a double with of one of the most boring Bond films and the most racist Bond films might not go over well.

    Alien Resurrection (1997)

Yeah I have the giant Alien Quadrilogy box set that has both theatrical and director cuts of each film. The theatrical cut is almost 40 minutes shorter with changes like the alien gestating in an ox rather than one of the inmate's dog and the inmate religion is focused on a lot more. They also are able to trap the alien like they had planned but, one of the inmates who has gone loopy releases it thinking it's a avatar of god or something. The biggest change is with the ending where the chestburster actually comes out of Ripley as she dives into the furnace and she clutches it to her chest to ensure it dies with her, while in the director's cut it does not come out of her chest. Neither cut are particularly good, but at least with the theatrical it works a bit better as it's not overly long and the ending leads really well into Resurrection.

    Alien Resurrection (1997)

If any Alien .movie should be talked about it should be the horrible third one. This one thankfully ended up being stupid fun despite some of the batshit things that Joss Whedon put into the script

Episode 157 - Surf Ninjas: LIVE!

I lucked out in that my trailers were Fast 8 and the Belko Experiment which both look equally amazing in their own way. I loved Logan for how far away it was from previous X-Men movies, though I was kinda sad in that Marvel Studios didn't make this as it would have been able to been more closely resembling Old Man Logan and show the absolute horror of the villain uprising, what happened to the other heroes like the Avengers and street level heroes like Daredevil and Hawkeye, and the act that broke the Wolverine as a person. Again, if you have not read this book please do so because it's incredible and shows a new side of the Wolverine psyche.

Episode 157 - Surf Ninjas: LIVE!

Omission: Okay I may not have heard this from the episode, but how did no one address that Schneider thought he had telekinesis and psychic abilities? During one of the fights he literally is just walking around with his fingers to his head like goddamn Professor X. Then you have the scene where the younger brother helps everyone escape by very slowly ramming a jeep into a couple of the soldiers, putting himself within feet of numerous machine gun barrels. These kids should have been dead 100 times over. And speaking of Professor X, Logan is fucking amazing and along with X2 and First Class, is one of the best X-Men movies ever. I was so happy that they nailed the emotion of the Old Man Logan character, though I felt that they left out too much backstory, since this movie is set ten years into the future.
