To be honest I'm not much for most new music, but whenever I find a song I enjoy I just download it and put it in my general playlist. These days the only real time I find something I like is if it's in a video game soundtrack or featured in a movie trailer, since terrestrial radio is god-fucking-awful. No shit, my iPod has about 12k audio files on it, and about only 2k of those are actual songs, the rest are podcasts and clips from the morning radio show that I've been listening to since middle school. And also, when talking music, movies, or books, there tends to be pretentiousness whenever people talk about these two subjects in particular because there is always something "way better" or "underground that is too cool for you" than what you already enjoy. It's why I couldn't get past a couple episodes of Jonah Raydio as his tastes usually go so uber-hipster that anything else is just shit in his opinion, and with books as an English and Library Science major I have to listen on countless occasions how this book exemplifies some bullshit theory or parallels some forgotten society in history, while the general fiction or popular author I like adds nothing to the literary world. I just read and listen for enjoyment, for the most part, I don't need some heady discussion on society as I am getting off work at a prison. It's also why I read graphic novels more now as the only real arguments about those are whose powers are better or which writer to read next because comic readers are basically in the same boat in that we are all reading for entertainment. On that note if you haven't read it already read The Fix by Nick Spencer, who was the writer for the Superior Foes of Spider-Man. He has the same artist from that series on this one and it centers around two bumbling, dirty cops as they try and pay off a debt to a psychotic gangster who runs a free range restaurant and appears to the rest of the world to be the prime example of a beta male. It's basically got the feel and humor of Superior Foes but doesn't have the content censorship that Marvel has as it's released under Image Comics.

A superhero movie that was very loosely based on a small team from the Flaming Carrot comic books, this movie is crazy. With Hank Azaria as a fork throwing who for no reason speaks with a British accent, Ben Stiller as a guy who gets easily annoyed, and Paul Rubens as a guy with super farts. This movie has funny moments, but is more weird than anything else, with gangs of disco dancers and frat boys, Greg Kinnear as a corporate superhero, and the fact that this movie is more known for the song by Smash Mouth, it would make for a great episode.

Incubus basically has enough of a following to warrant being a middle of the card act at concerts and musical festivals. Hoobastank is kind of sad in that they had some huge hits at their peak, namely "The Reason," but are now relegated to playing small bars one here in Sacramento a few years back which was pretty shocking in how far they fell. Papa Roach is in a similar boat where they can occasionally end up in the middle of a music festival card, but they are mainly staying in Northern California now, which is where they started their careers, which is not the way you want to go considering how big their first two albums were when they broke into the mainstream. Smash Mouth is a funny creature in that now that no one has cared about them since "All Star" came out, the only thing that happens concerning them is the massive trolling the lead singer receives from people who make fun of him for his biggest song coming as a result of being on the Shrek soundtrack, to which he flips the fuck out and says everyone are idiots because that song got huge after being on the Mystery Men soundtrack, which is possibly the worst brag of all time.

For me Incubus falls in the same category as Linkin Park in that while their lyrics aren't the best from time to time, they can create a fantastic sound with the instruments used. There was an article on Cracked about how Linkin Park should basically become a studio band because their lyrics are quite cringey, especially over the last few years, but their music works well in most situations, namely when Jay-Z used them in their collaboration album.

Like Taylor I like Incubus, though only a select number of songs like "Pardon Me" which is just fantastic along with "Anna Molly." Unfortunately, "Make a Move" has a horrible chorus and goes on for a bit too long, which is only worse by it being played constantly in this movie. Omissions/questions: When they mention that EDI is downloading all of the songs ever, does that just mean major releases or does it include countless indie and self releases? Also since this is in the near future and with the growth of musicians using sites like Youtube to get their music out to the masses, are those included? Because if that is the case then that is MILLIONS of songs and that would equal out to Peta if not Exabytes of data, way more than even the most advanced artificial intelligence could presumably hold, not to mention having to retain basic and advanced information of flying, combat scenarios and maneuvers, and whatever it learns from observing its human counterparts. Another thing concerning the prime number situation, I was hoping the sequels could cover the new teams that feature 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97, 101, 103, 107, 109, 113, 127, 131, 137, 139, 149, 151, 157, 163, 167, 173, 179, 181, 191, 193, 197, 199, 211, 223, 227, 229, 233, 239, 241, 251, 257, 263, 269, 271, 277, 281, 283, 293, 307, 311, 313, 317, 331, 337, 347, 349, 353, 359, 367, 373, 379, 383, 389, 397, 401, 409, 419, 421, 431, 433, 439, 443, 449, 457, 461, 463, 467, 479, 487, 491, 499, 503, 509, 521, 523, 541, 547, 557, 563, 569, 571, 577, 587, 593, 599, 601, 607, 613, 617, 619, 631, 641, 643, 647, 653, 659, and 661 members, because those prime number teams should be AMAZING. As for the mention of bad movies from 1985 not having been covered yet, firsttimecaller was correct in that there have been ones covered for that year (Gymkata, Perfect, and A View to a Kill), though there are some great one still to be covered from that year like Defcon 4, Howling 2: Stirba - Werewolf Bitch, Ewoks: Battle For Endor, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2, and Return to Oz. With 1981 being the actual year that hasn't been covered yet, here are a couple possibilities I think that Paul might choose since he said he had a possible selection: The Devil and Max Devlin, Condorman, Graduation Day, and Evilspeak.

Yeah I have to look at my collection to get an chronological list of the big arcs, but if I remember right it went Avengers Disassembled, House of M, No More Mutants, Secret Wars (can't remember how they numbered this one since there have been a few Secret Wars), Civil War, Death of Captain America, Secret Invasion, and that eventually leads to Siege. Secret Invasion was also a fave of mine as it featured the art of Leinil Francis Yu, and if we're really going to nerd out I can easily list some of my top artists, which is usually one of the biggest factors I consider reading a series or story. I'm assuming that there will be another stone introduced in Doctor Strange and allow for that character to segue into Guardians 2 and eventually Black Panther which I assume will both feature something towards the Guantlet and Thanos. I expect Spider-Man to be a standalone movie in the same vein as Ant-Man where there are only slight connections to characters or the overall universe since they are basically origin/intro stories. I wonder that now the Inhumans are being introduced to the MCU if they will alter the "No More Mutants" storyline and replace it using the Inhumans, which could be interesting especially if they introduce characters like Ms. Marvel.

Yeah I got about 20 minutes through the movie before just shaking my head in shock that someone thought this would be a good premise.

Yeah most of the post Civil War storylines are really good, though the Secret Invasion is kind of a lame way to buy back some of the ill will various characters garnered during Civil War, but even then it's a good arc. I was surprised how certain characters were used in the movie like Crossbones, who plays a vital part in the comic version of the story, but when you are making movies based on superheroes you can't really try to carry over every foe unlike in comics where an arc can run for years. I thought they timed it perfectly as the cracks in the friendship between Stark and Rogers were apparent from the first Avengers and carried over into their subsequent films, also the fact that Downey really can't continue to play Iron Man like he would want to due to his age and how the movies are spaced out over time, made this the most ideal situation. One thing that has me kind of worried is that they are making the Infinity War a single movie rather than split it into two, because if rumors are to be true there are going to be an assload of characters in that movie so to try and give fair screen time to almost 20 major characters in a 2 1/2 long movie is going to be a real chore.

I've had pretty good luck this year with the movies as most have been pretty decent. It's when I get to October and do my annual horror movie binge that the real shit comes out as basically Amazon Prime is ripe with low budget and terrible horror movies. Maybe the worst that I've seen this year was a movie called Joker's Wild which basically made a tasteless horror movie based on the Dark Knight Rises shooting in Aurora. It starts with a guy in a clown mask shooting up a theater featuring a movie with Joker in the title and then a year later the woman who owns the theater, named Aurora, tries to reopen the theater but fears it may be haunted by the killer who was shot down by police during his massacre. And it being a B movie it has the mandatory cameo from Eric Roberts who phones in his performance, which I kind of understand as by looking at his IMDB page, he has 66 movies coming out in the next year or two, and no that's not an exaggeration.

With the stinger at the end of this movie concerning the person getting mutant samples, I have to wonder where they are going to take this film series next, because as far as villains go in the X-Men universe, Apocalypse is basically the end all be all of bad guys that they have faced, for Christ sake his name is Apocalypse. Unfortunately, the stinger was such a deep cut for the X-Men canon that even I had to look up what the hell it meant and was actually interested to see where they would take the character featured, but again I have to wonder how they will construct a story around him. I feel that they are better suited to making an original storyline like they did for the first X-Men and First Class or pulling pieces of various stories and making something original like they did in X2. Trying to recreate famous storylines just doesn't work because there is so much history and time behind the given story that it will most certainly not hold up in comparison. Civil War is a great example of altering a story while keeping some of the major bullet points, the comic could never work in the MCU because there are no superpowers or mutants in that universe, which was the basis of the original rift between superheroes, so Marvel tweaks it to fit their world while keeping the same tone of the story and it works exceptionally well.

Movies like this always have the "lightning makes machines evil" trope that just makes me believe mechanical engineers are morons. That is easily BILLIONS of dollars in hardware to make an AI superjet, but no one thought to protect it against lightning or electrical attacks? It's the same storyline of Chopping Mall where the security robots become killer after the transponder that charges them or updates them gets hit by lightning and shorts out their safety protocols.

Holy shit I forgot that this movie is supposed to be set in 2020. Even still, it's bananas that this robot plane basically starts WWIII with North Korea in order to save crapbag Josh Lucas.

All I remember from this shitty movie was when the kid wants to eat fast food inside the suit, it eats the food itself and molds it into a billiard ball size mound of muck before forcing it into the kids mouth. It was at that point I said screw this and changed to something else.

It's odd looking back on this movie now with there being tie-in graphic novels to both Escape From New York and Big Trouble In Little China and the writing for both of them are far superior to this. Though it is weird that there is a crossover book coming up where Jack Burton and Plissken meet up.
