I thought she was horribly miscast in Gangs, as they did literally NOTHING to make her look like she belonged in that period outside of making her hair slightly red. At least Leo and Daniel Day-Lewis were dirtied up and looked like they fit in the dirt of the five boroughs, but Diaz was ivory clean and had perfect teeth to go along with her horrible accent.

The closest that I came to was Bad Teacher because I think that might be what she's like in real life, sort of how you can imagine Billy Bob Thornton is like his character in Bad Santa in real life.

Wait how can the website sponsoring the movie be used as the quote line for the cover? Also how far have Shannon Elizabeth, Sean Patrick Flannery, and Vivica A. Fox, fallen as they were each in well liked and successful films but now have to do this shit?

It's kinda shocking looking back at this with the cast that it had and the initial setup, and how it just doesn't work for the most part. It comes off as a challenge to create the bleakest story and ending of all time, and it does a good job at that though the movie didn't end with "womp womp wwwooompp."

Yeah this one was weird because it mixed in this weird conspiracy amongst the kids' parents and the school and they tried to play the whole murder mystery angle of the film similar to the old horror movie April Fool's Day as well as Cry Wolf where the killings didn't actually happen, but some were revealed later to have happened. Everything that I've read about the comic this is based on isn't much help as it is apparently as non-sensical.

Yeah I didn't notice it the first couple times I watched that movie, because they put a lot of tanning solution on her and has a horrible accent. I imagine that they sold her on it by saying "hey you might be a Bond girl in this movie."

Completely forgot about Yahoo Serious, good lord how has he not ended up on Dancing with the stars or the Surreal Life?

Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning (1985)
RyanSz replied to JeffGlover's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
To be fair he basically kills an entire graduating class in Manhattan, with one great moment being a teacher rounding up survivors in the dance hall to get ready to escape and then basically saying "fuck them" when the main characters get a chance to escape on a life boat. Yes an actual adult guardian basically lines up teen victims for Jason by placing them all in a single location to slaughter them, and then LEAVES them to their fate. Also Jason kills MILLIONS in Jason X, by causing a spaceship to crash into a space station, leading it to blow up. -

Some people really just don't like chocolate. -
The tagline for this poster should have been "I'm fucking furious...this movie made me so angry."
-
Yeah he admitted he basically does movies based on where he gets to travel and what actress he gets to play his love interest.

To be honest I think the forum only still exists for this podcast, because if you look through some of the others, none come even close to the fandom and usage as the ones for HDTGM, hell the Happening thread is longer than most threads put together.

Yes, this needs to happen. Don't know why but a lot of weird things have been happening, like my profile pic just disappearing, that makes me think they are just doing some troubleshooting.

This last Sunday I hosted a Sandler double feature at my library with Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore and it just depressed me seeing how good he used to be.

What's weird about this is that this is a fictionalized version of a documentary of the same name, but they changed names and the events which is odd as the true story of what happened in the election isn't as exciting but the after events were much more exciting and interesting. It also didn't help that they marketed this movie as a comedy when it was a historical drama.

Regarding how Gerard Butler doesn't do better prestige movies, see Coriolanus with Ralph Fiennes and himself, as both men give holy shit amazing performances. This role is very reminiscent of how acted in RocknRolla and 300 where is very smarmy/cocky without giving a fuck about if it fits with whatever else is going on. As for him seemingly choosing movies he would have the most fun in, this isn't the first time where it has been an issue of him as apparently he was about a week from being qualified as a lawyer but his constant partying and going out of his way to have fun over taking work seriously cost him that opportunity, which he then turned into becoming an actor.

What's crazy about that wedding? Seems totally normal to me as I plan for my wedding to have gorillas in tutus battle honey badgers armed with machetes while I watch from a throne made of DVD copies of the movies covered by this show. Oh and there will also be a bounce house and slip n' slide.

I too am so glad that this movie was basically done as Jason mistook this movie like many fans mistook the Keaton version of Jack Frost and the horror version that had the same name and came out about the same time. On a side note, can we please do the horror version of Jack Frost? That movie is next level insane.

When I watched the final battle and saw Butler gushing gold blood it instantly reminded me of a horrible burger I bought at one of these hipster burger joints. What it amounted to was a burger with peanut butter and jelly spread on the buns, I know it sounds awful but it seemed like a good idea at the time. Well when the burger came out the jelly was fine, but the peanut butter basically coagulated on top of the hot burger, with the oil basically separating from the other ingredients in the peanut butter. That runny mess looked exactly like Butler bleeding to death. So either gods bleed peanut butter as they get closer to death or that hipster cafe was putting melted gold on their burgers.

Yeah the theme for the prints were basically horror/sci-fi characters in classic paintings. I can't remember what some of the others were but I found it through a sale on Ript Apparel, but I'm certain that they could be found elsewhere now that sale is long over.

Let's not forgot the Soft Room in South Park to help kids get ready for foster care.

Yeah that release wasn't a good idea, though how the actor plays him will be the defining mark of the new version. As for clowns being a trope, just google Gags the Clown and other various clown pranks where people dress up at night and scare the bejeesus out of people, by not doing anything but standing still. The show mentioned a documentary on Netflix that covered the "Clown in cars" fear that Jason had, called Killer Legends, where in it, the guy doing the doc if I remember right, dresses up as a clown and drives around a town in the day, and people were terrified. As a side note here is a piece of art I picked up and hung at my desk to scare the crap out of my coworkers. And this one is just awesome. Are we talking where they make a shirt as you ask for it or where artists create shirts for you to buy? If it's the latter I'd recommend Ript Apparel, Shirt Punch, and Threadless.

I have to wonder if the makers of this movie thought, "people won't mind we cast white people as Egyptian gods, because we have a couple hundred clones of Chadwick Boseman in a scene, so it equals out."

I'd definitely say it's a lot easier now with CGI as movie makers now know what they are doing for the most part in regards to CGI, unlike in the 90s when it was starting out and actors had no idea where to look or how to interract with what was going to be added later. Though motion capture is basically the same as acting, just now in an uncomfortable body suit and those little beads they put everywhere to make your face match properly, video games like Last of Us, Until Dawn, and L.A. Noire are prime examples. As for this movie, I was amazed at how bad the CGI was for most of it, especially making the gods look larger than humans which just came off as awkward looking. Hard to imagine that this had a 140 million dollar budget with how cartoonish the graphics are for the majority of the movie. Also, this movie does not need to be over two hours long, good lord does it drag on.
