    Episode 132 - Bloodsport: LIVE!

Omission Frank Dux is so full of shit his eyes are brown. Literally where he says the Kumite took place was the address of his house, unless he was being investigated by the CIA for holding illegal death sports inside of his living room. Also as for the guy with the monkey fighting style, there is a fighting style variant of drunken fighting where the fighter moves similar to a monkey. There was an old show on MTV called Final Fu where one of the participants tried using the style in his match, but only ended up looking like a jackass. As for the ref in the fight, I think he was sort of like early UFC refs, where they were there only to call an end to the fight once a fighter had given up. So I'm actually surprised Jackson didn't bring in a beer can during his match to crack over someone's head since it would have been completely legal. As for Jackson trying to start a chant of his own name it just reminded me of the old SNL skit where Jeff Goldblum starts the wave at a baseball game and then spends the rest of the bit trying to get credit for it being so awesome. http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/wave-starter/n10466

    Episode 131.5 - Minisode 131.5

I'm on the fifth episode of Daredevil and am laughing at the scene where Elektra and Matt Murdock are in the boxing gym after hours where she tries to kick him in the head to see if he's faking about being blind. I just imagine the idea of Elektra hoping to catch Matt as either not blind or has prior training, but he really is blind so she knocks him unconscious. Talk about the worst date ever. Also as far as Elektra, I don't know how I feel about her yet, since I don't much about her personality-wise outside of the recent Thunderbolts series and her appearances in the Punisher. In this she comes off as a thrill killer who gets off on the violence, but that may just be because it's a flashback. The accent doesn't bother me so much as she is played as a world traveler with no real place to call home. Yet when compared to Bernthal's Punisher, it does come off as a slightly weaker performance.

    Van Damme Character Names

My love of Schwarzenegger and Stallone led me to buy these pieces from Six AM Comics (who is a great artist by the way, you all should definitely check out his work. I had him commission me a piece on the various gangs from The Warriors and have wondered if it would be good to have one done for another crazy actor like Nic Cage or Van Damme, but thinking on it, those two really don't alter their character looks much outside of wigs.

    The Lost Boys (1987)

I don't see it making a great episode as it isn't really crazy, just rather dated. The story and development still holds up as pretty original, similar to Near Dark, in that it is a new play on vampire lore and the world that they live in. The only other real WTF moment in the movie is the end where the grandfather admits to his family that he has known about the vampire problem in the city and that others probably do as well, way to warn your family of the danger asshole.

    Episode 131.5 - Minisode 131.5

I think it could work for Hawkeye if they want to make it a bit more like the comics where in he loses his family to some attack due to a mole in the organization. Now he's down and out, living in a crap rent-controlled apartment in New York, and dealing with these Russian mobsters. It would also work because it could allow him to be in either the Thunderbolts or the Defenders, both of which he has either been a part of or led. Though I will say I hope it is the Fraction run and not the most current Jeff Lemire run because I just don't know yet if I like this jumping back and forth in time and now the Hawkeyes are facing off with A.I.M. which is a big leap from street thugs. As for spoilers, I hate when they put something huge in the title of the article, but hate it more when it's just interspersed inside the article with no warning. I was reading a review of the last M. Night movie The Visit and thought it sounded pretty decent to see, that is until the fucking twist was given out RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE REVIEW! What was worse was that the twist sounded pretty decent in an old school Tales From the Crypt way.

    The Lost Boys (1987)

The only thing that can sort of be poked at is how after 30 years this movie along with Nightmare On Elm St. 2 became two of the most unintentionally homoerotic horror movies of all time. Though even then I still feel that's because of how dated both are, also that the gym teacher on Nightmare two actually goes to a S & M bar. Though I don't know how that also explains The Covenant on this list. http://www.cracked.c...ror-movies.html

    Episode 131.5 - Minisode 131.5

For me right now my Punisher ranking goes Stevenson, Bernthal a very close second, with very Lundgren and Jane as distant third and fourth. Lundgren's Punisher was a bit too much of a show off, literally stepping in front of news cameras in parts of the movie, also the bad guys and cops could have easily found him by just searching where he bought the knives that were specially made with his logo on the handles. Jane's version was possibly the worst because they made him a Looney Tunes character up until the end of the movie with all of his tricks and games involved with getting his revenge (the "torture scene with the steak and popsicle is particularly cringe-worthy). Right now what I've seen of Bernthal is fantastic as he is a perfect match for the early years of Frank Castle and his interaction with Daredevil is great, the third episode involving the choice about Grotto is almost scene for scene from the Punisher comics. Stevenson is basically my favorite because he epitomized the Punisher at that time with the MAX series being written by Garth Ennis. He is efficient and brutal, but even he has his line and own morality in regards to innocent bystanders or collateral damage. I heard they were interested in a Punisher series which I would love because there are a lot of great characters in his world that would be great for the screen. Though with the talk of a Thunderbolts series on Netflix, I see them bringing the Punisher and Elektra in for that since they were in the last series of comics, though no Deadpool unfortunately. Also since they have brought back William Hurt as Thunderbolt Ross, it makes me hope that he gets turned into Red Hulk soon to lead the team. I've been a huge Punisher fan for years and have always hoped he'd get the love on screen that other heroes have gotten, and it looks like they have really hit it out of the park. Also if anyone wants more Punisher, I strongly recommend reading the Garth Ennis Punisher books the first series was in the early 2000s followed by the MAX series. Punisher Born is particularly great because it shows basically the start of the Punishers call to arms against villainy during the Vietnam War, and the sacrifice he had to make with fate in order to survive an ambush.

I know that there aren't any sequels to them, but if we are talking awesomely bad kung-fu movies, you need to see City Dragon and Miami Connection, two of the most batshit insane fighting movies. City Dragon in particular is amazing because it tries to mix in bad hip hop, after school specials, and as many subplots as The Room.

    A Warrior's Heart (2011)

Wow I so had this confused with the horrible ninja western The Warrior's Way from 2010. Hell do both as a live double feature and see if the audience or hosts can tell the difference.

I'm two episodes in and he's competing with Ray Stevenson as the best Punisher right now. The fight scenes have been fantastic and the overall tone of the show has remained solid.

That's sort of how Rickson Gracie claims to be undefeated in over 400 fights, which then Helio Gracie called bullshit saying that Rickson was counting sparring matches and amateur bouts in that total and if that was the case he would be undefeated in a million fights. As for bullshit artists from the early era of MMA, I was surprised to see that there were still guys going around trying to claim to be legit, even though their stories could be disproven in seconds with a Google search. One guy went really far to try and prove he was legit and actually fought former UFC Lightweight TItle contender Hermes Franca, who took the fight for a buck in order to just shut this guy up. Obviously Franca beat seven shades of shit out of the guy and then mocked him online. Though I think the only ones worse than the fakers are the hardcores, similar to the "Just Bleed" guy from years ago in the UFC, who wanted MMA to remain exclusive rather than inclusive to a wider audience. I used to write for a couple sports sites and simply for the fact that the last real training I had was a karate class when I was six, these douches felt I had no stake in talking about a sport I love. Granted none of them had either fought or trained extensively, but they had the Affliction t-shirts and a couple old Pride events on VHS, so they were qualified.

    Episode 131.5 - Minisode 131.5

I was always under the impression that the gay lover had no relation to the family at all outside of his relationship with the dad. Aunt Martha is the dad's sister and dad's wife is presumably dead since she doesn't claim the surviving child. Martha is just a supportive sister who understands he's gay. Ricky doesn't realize that the Angela is really the brother because of her headcast that she has when she comes to Martha's house, and seeing as how Martha is full on crazy, she might hide Angela away for the time being to let her hair grow out and create false paperwork to say that she is indeed Angela, as evident by her admitting to doing the kids' physicals herself as well as their other medical paperwork.

There was also the whole bit about Oleg Taktarov getting an easy win over Anthony Macias, who was also managed by Taktarov's manager, at UFC 6 in order for Oleg to have enough energy in the finals to face Tank Abbott. Macias basically tapped to a choke before it was fully set in at 9 seconds into the fight. Also, I wonder if I'm in the minority in thinking that Royce is not all that he is cracked up to be. Yes he won the first bunch of tournaments, mainly because basically none of the other fighters knew about Jui-Jitsu save for a couple guys. Now Gracie might have the BIGGEST ego out of any of the old school fighters, just look at his entrance before his most recent fight with Shamrock or that he literally tells the viewer watching his UFC documentary a few years ago "you're welcome" for all that he did for MMA. Also his pro record is incredibly suspect as his first real loss was to the Canadian hillbilly Harold Howard due to forfeit, but a couple years later he actually was somehow able to get the loss struck from his record, and somehow he is able to keep his win over Sakuraba despite popping hot for steroids in the post-fight testing. As for Dux being full of shit, there was a great article by Seanbaby on Cracked a few years ago about fighters who were total frauds but had the world convinced that they were for real. Most of them basically became famous because the internet was either nonexistent or in its infancy to where you couldn't look up a guys record in a second and had to take him at face value. So there were many guys who were claiming to be UFC champions in order to do autograph signings at conventions or to gouge smaller promotions for better paychecks against scrub fighters. What's great is a few of these got called out by actual fighters and eventually got their asses handed to them in equal level fights. Sorry for the run on about MMA, but it's definitely a passion subject for me and Frank Dux is a total douche nozzle liar face.

    Ask Paul!

From the various books that I've read on The Room, the screenplay was originally a book by Tommy, so I almost have to assume that it's the stuff that he had to cut, also the DVD is like that room where the sound level is negative 9 decibels and causes people to go crazy after extended periods of time inside it, as the intervals between bits as I really can't tell when one episode begins or ends, are filled with random gif images like if the director of Birdemic edited it together. Here is the only place I could find it online that shows how crazy it is. Speaking of Birdemic, the director there fell into the same hole Tommy Wiseau did by completely trying to play into what inadvertently made his previous film work. It was so on the nose and winking at the camera that it was just flat our terrible, not funny terrible. Also a quick question Paul, I know the whole crew is basically working on the Disaster Artist (congrats and when does it come out by the way?) so maybe you can answer this question. What do you know about the giant statue of pants hanging off the side of a building in front of a giant poster of The Room in San Francisco? This is across the street from a parking structure near Fisherman's Wharf. I was thinking it was the building Tommy used to own and run a pants warehouse out of but I can find no information for it online.

Funny thing is that Van Damme and his movies were basically origin concept for Mortal Kombat and Van Damme was apparently on board until he dropped out early in production, so they basically evolved the theme into MK, with the douchey Johnny Cage representing Van Damme.
  18. To be fair McFarlane had quite a bit of success at Marvel, I think his first issue of Spider-Man is still one of the biggest selling issues of all time, and Spawn was a MASSIVE hit when it debuted, unfortunately McFarlane has become what he originally hated at Marvel. With Image being formed by artists and writers who wanted to own their own work and remove themselves from the bureaucracy of comic publishers, the original group created some amazing work, yet McFarlane started doing what he hated and farming his creation out to other writers and artists, which is one of the reasons that he left Marvel. McFarlane has remained the primary writer for the comics, and the recent Spawn stuff is decent, though it's no where near the quality from when it premiered decades ago. Now with Robert Kirkman as the head of Image, the company seems to be going back to the original format of creator owned work that is top notch, though it's a double edged sword as with few reigns leads to some pretty cringe-worthy books like The Nightly News or Low. Unfortunately Spawn didn't do the numbers that it was expected to, especially considering how well the comic was doing at the time and McFarlane has proven to be a real slave to detail which has caused numerous delays which has now led to the movie being "ready" but the public not really caring anymore.

I really hope that they address Frank Dux being completely full of crap about the Kumite.
  20. This hasn't even come out yet but I can tell it would be perfect for the show. Preacher's son wants to be rock singer but soon finds out he bears a striking resemblance to an already established star who is meant to come off as Elvis. The wigs alone shown in the trailer are insane and the fact that the first billed person is Seth Green who appears to be the third or fourth most important character while the main actor is billed below five other people including Joey Pants who plays a grease monkey, makes this a must do for the show.

    The Identical (2014)

I think the trailer would go something like this... In a world where a website designer feels lost in life, but not spirit, he one day finds his calling while creating his 7000th Elvis fansite for someone. "Hey I kinda look like that guy if you saw me from across the room." Now he's on his way to being the best Elvis impersonator ever known when Hollywood comes knocking. "We think you have a reasonably interesting story so we'll make a cheap movie based around it, but not really about you." Now the former designer is off to the bright lights of superstardom when the worst happens, "Hey why isn't my name on the poster or any of the promotional material?" "Because FUCK YOU, that's why!" The Identical, coming to a direct-to-bargain bin near you.
  22. Holy shit this movie needs to be done. Concerning a OCP-esque company that makes robotic killing machines, this movie features Brad Dourif as a mad robotics engineer, a female lead acting like Joan Severance from No Holds Barred on crack, and a bunch of horribly made robots. It's insane in that it seems like they gave Dourif acid and said to go nuts as he dresses like a grunge band groupie, busts out in a Sylvester the cat accent, and blackmails people with info he got by hacking. There are also cartoon sound effects, hippy eco-terrorists, and a robot, that seemed to be the inspiration for the robot from Judge Dredd, that sees the world as if it's a video game, this movie is bonkers.
