To me the best Superman stories have always been the alternate universe or non-canonical stories of Superman, because they give such a new and better light on the character. Stories like Superman: Red Son or the Earth: One storylines are amazing because they give either a darker or more realistic view of the character.

It was dick tits which is my favorite new swear word. Also I already created a thread for Deadpool on the recommendations board because I would love an episode on it for how awesome it is (http://forum.earwolf.com/topic/29722-deadpool/). I know people are saying that they are tired of origin stories, but with a character like Deadpool it's kinda warranted as up until the last few years when he's had a huge surge in popularity, he was a C/B level side character who had a murky at best origin story, which also wasn't helped by the fact that he's insane and he really can't trust his memory. I was surprised that they didn't outright say he was a member of the Weapon X project, though that may have been due to wanting to separate from Origins: Wolverine which completely bungled his character. While my friends loved the movie I was in awe because I'm a huge fan of the character and was able to catch some of the little things or storylines like the pizza guy bit were pulled almost completely from the comics, though he kills him in the comic because the guy had ruined a girls life in high school with an awful rumor rather than being a stalker. I love that they have Morena Baccarin as Vanessa and am wondering if in the sequel but now that Cable is announced and Stephen Lang has announced his desire to play the role, I cannot wait for the sequel.

What songs would be on your HDTGM all star soundtrack
RyanSz replied to GiveMeYourBaby's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Not directly but referenced during the In the Name of the King episode along with at least one more after, I wanna say Fast 6 or Tango & Cash, but I can't say for certain. -

Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak. -
With Sorbo at least it appears that he has not gone full Cameron as I've seen him at a few conventions recently, so he doesn't have a stick so far up as to ignore the fans of his previous work. If he did he would have probably joined the guy with a giant billboard strapped to his chest and a bullhorn telling us we were all going to Hell for having the gall to go to a comic convention.

Is that 80s era Bon Jovi or now because that's almost like a father daughter relationship which would be really creepy during the duets.

Then why wouldn't he just say "they've been here for a couple years?" By saying over a year that usually is only referring to a short amount of time past the year. It's too vauge when all he could have said was the amount of time they were there.

After reading the wiki of this I was amazed by how they basically made the most cliche characters for this film. Even religious review sites knocked the film for this reason, which is really saying something when the audience that you are pandering to says to cool off on the pandering. Also, I honestly believe that these movies are a secret promotional tour created by the Christian pop group the Newsboys to let a wider audience know that they exist. One other thing that I'd like to know is how they get the name actors for these films that they do. Are guys like Kevin Sorbo, Dean Cain, or Melissa Joan Hart for the sequel, so hard up for work that they are doing this as a last chance to recreate their name using a new audience, or are they born agains like Kirk Cameron but have been hiding it for the bulk of their careers?

I'm sorry but when it's right there, it's right there. If I'm proven right I expect a line of hands waiting to give me high fives. Also you should know who he is as Brian Taylor mentioned that he was on the short list of names for the porn star picket line in Crank: High Voltage, along with the "droppin' loads" guy and Max Hardcore, who was unfortunately in jail.

I still think that he's porn legend Peter North, who also happens to be from Canada.

forum game: which theoretically fitting movie would make a poor episode?
RyanSz replied to IJoinedJustForThis's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Thankfully Tommy Wiseau has yet to go out and try to replicate The Room, he's milking that thing for all it's worth. As for the Fred movies, those are fucked up in general if you actually listen to what that character's backstory is as a six year old kid whose mom is a booze and drug addicted prostitute who has abused him in a variety of ways like locking him in a dog cage for days on end and his dad abandoned her when she was pregnant and is now on death row (remember this show is aimed at kids). I would love to hear the show freak out about THAT information. For me the movies that seem like the ones that would make for bad episodes or not-as-great-as-they-could-have-been episodes are The Happening and Showgirls, mainly because those two are the lowest hanging fruits for podcasts like these and have been picked apart ad nauseam. They could possibly work, but I think it's an instance of it probably not living up to our hightened expectations considering how long a lot of us have been calling for those movies to be done. I think Dreamcatcher would work well because it hasn't been hit on as much by movie podcasts so it's ripe for attack. -
How has no one mentioned the fucked up three face masks from the hell music numbers?! Those things were nightmare material.

Holy shit just watched this on Prime and this has to be done. I think the entire budget went to renting the Rolles used to hit Breen, because they couldn't even use a sound clip of sirens longer than three seconds before it had to be replayed. Is this guy like James Nguyen or Tommy Wiseau in that he secretly had a crapton of money or made a bunch of money and decided to be a movie star?

Omission: Was the kid that Bibi carrying at the end really her and Alfi's kid? If he was then what the fuck because that kid was like 3-4 years old and they were only hiding in the hippy commune for about a year. Also when Mr. Tops tells Boogalow that he is going to start over again, just without him this time, does that mean that there are countless other planets where people have just been abandoned by this higher power who basically said "well fuck it, this won't work" and left them to wither in purgatory? And finally, why did none of the other reporters realize that Boogalow was an uber-dictator when he basically told the guy that asked him the question about rigging the contest that he was having him fired and that he would basically flounder in poverty for the rest of his life, on camera and surrounded by dozens of microphones, without batting an eye? You would think that would create a whole new line of questioning for these reporters looking for a huge scoop.

It was more an attempt to get them BACK into the mainstream, because when the NWO was brand new and then you had Goldberg, they were one of the hottest items, along with the WWE, in pop culture. Yet there was so much "how can we fuck up our own company" decisions made that it was soon the laughing stock of the media, and not just wrestling media, they were lambasted for the Arquette decision in papers like USA Today and Entertainment Weekly.

I honestly don't know what I did without Prime a few years ago, I love it. Haven't watched High Castle yet but it's far back on my to watch list. I did really enjoy Hand of God with Ron Perlman, though it got pretty bad reviews and Mad Dogs looks pretty good.

I'm liking what I see so far, though I wonder how it's going to end.

I'm not completely on one side or another regarding musicals, I like Little Shop of Horrors and Rocky Horror and don't mind Grease, but there are others that I can't stand like Chicago and Moulin Rouge. I absolutely loved the Evil Dead musical in Las Vegas and wouldn't mind seeing how they could pull off the American Psycho musical (especially with Matt Smith in the title role).
-
Oh and that whole Renee Zellwegger puppet scene was fuckballs insane and nightmare inducing.
-
I don't know if I can really explain it because it just didn't sit well with me. I get the whole thing of fame through crime and trying to remain on top, but it does come off as stretched out and replayed throughout the course of the movie with numerous femme fatales. Movies like Grease and Rocky Horror Picture Show are movies that incorporate the music into what could be a standalone movie, not the other way around where a movie is stapled to music. I do appreciate musicals with original music rather than appropriating a bunch of different songs that have no place in that time, fuck you Moulin Rouge for your bunch of horseshit. I know my answer probably won't sate anyone wanting to know, but it's just one of those movies I can't explain my disdain in clear words.
-
I used to think that Chicago was the worst musical, plot wise, but holy shit does the Apple take the cake for both singing and plot. Also, whenever you guys see this movie ask yourself this question, how the fuck does the main couple have a baby that looks like he's three years old after only being away from the main society for only a year?

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995)

Elizabeth Banks has said she is now playing Rita Repulsa in the reboot! -
I rented this on Amazon before it came out on Netflix and I can't wait to get it on DVD (when it's reasonably priced). Loved the over the top violence and gore, and the villains were pretty cool too. Also, did anyone else get a shaved Zouks vibe from the vendor friend of Turbo Kid?

I've never seen the Furious movies - where do I start?
RyanSz replied to boxofgeese's topic in How Did This Get Made?
2 Fast and Tokyo Drift are probably the ones that can be skipped the easiest since 2 Fast only is necessary to introduce Tyrese, Ludacris, and Eva Mende's characters. Tokyo Drift gives slight info on Han, but only because I don't think they were planning on bringing him back for two prequels and tying his death into a larger plot revolving a bigger threat and the Lucas Black and Bow Wow characters play nothing into the overall story except for their short cameo in Furious 7. Number 4 is probably the worst quality wise, though it brings back Vin Diesel and Paul Walker who between that movie and their previous Fast movies, sort of had ho-hum roles in movies. Also if you want a more complete experience, watch Better Luck Tomorrow before the first Fast and Furious because it is the origin story of Han and explains some of his quirks like why he's always eating. It was directed by Justin Lin who has confirmed it's place in the Fast canon and is a pretty decent crime movie, though a bit darker than Fast movies. -

The other thing I laughed at was the new items/suits/equipment that was never shown in the show and never seen again. The first fight scene that the rangers have in their Iron Man-esque costumes include the yellow ranger having headlights built into her helmet, the red ranger having a weird Predator scanner on his helmet, the blue ranger having some weird grappling string box and the pink ranker had a whip that was basically a pink tape measurer. These items were useless and were just the studio's way to burn through the 15 million dollar budget that they had.
