Also, why do you need an MBA to open your own porn store?

Short Circuit 1 or 2...or both!
RyanSz replied to DartanganMcgee's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
Sometimes my prison will show a current movie with an older one, it all depends on what's available and what the inmate council group voted for. There are a couple other channels that play older movies so I can't say for sure if it's ever been shown. Side note: what the hell happened to Fisher Stevens?! Did he get an illness or something because he looks thirty pounds lighter than when he was in The Burning. -
Yeah when I saw the tape I thought someone had taped the door so that it wouldn't lock in order for a killer to easily sneak into the apartment, but then Arthur had the bottle and instantly recited what it was to Ben. I was more shocked by Arthur's version of Tony Montana's sister's monologue at the end of Scarface where he's basically yelling at his brother to bang him. Also, am I wrong in thinking that Arthur was a character designed for the viewer to hate gay people? Every time something doesn't go his way he throws a temper tantrum, acts like a diva, or MURDERS someone.

Yeah this movie was something else, I kinda knew what to expect, but then it completely blew me away with what they were trying to do.
-
Holy shit it did, my friends and I thought it might have been the PS4 we were using or if the disc was faulty, I think I might have been legitimately pissed if I didn't see how this movie ended. I read about this movie in a book on bad films and found it by chance in a video store for $3, and at that point the DVD case was actually dissolving inside its plastic wrap since it hadn't been touched by a person in so long.

I must apologize to the cast of The Room, they are Brando-esque compared to the actors in this film. After watching this I can honestly posit an argument that this might have been responsible for it taking so long for gay marriage to be legalized in numerous states. The Tommy Wiseau of this movie who plays Arthur plays the most stereotypical "flaming diva queen" I've ever seen to the point of it being offensive. Then you have the Christian brother who starts just murdering people because that will stop his brother from getting married apparently after eating chicken imbued with holy water didn't change him. This film has the editing style of Birdemic and its only saving grace is that it is unbelievably bonkers towards the end. Also the church scene where the homophobic brother meets with his pastor is great since it looks like the entire set was made of old cardboard boxes and painted by first graders.

Okay I'm bumping this because I watched it last night and it is amazingly bad. It's basically every after school special mixed together with bad hip hop, bad fight choreography, and blatant racism and homophobia. You can tell that MC Kung Fu and Phil Phillips were trying to make themselves stars by Tommy Wiseau-ing a movie, but it fails epicly. What's great is the Bobo Joe Lo Truglio who within five minutes of the movie starting explicitly explains what a "whigger" is, then the fight scenes featuring sound effects that don't match up with the moves, and a flaming gay character who is killed and is listed in a court document with an a.k.a. of "Queen Mary." Also the baby dynamics of this movie are something else as a newborn baby is apparently two years old and whiter than the whitest adult in this movie, despite both his parents being black.

This movie might be a prequel to the birth of Anonymous, because those guys still do crap like that from time to time, such as doxxing people that they don't like or bullying people on the internet. The only reason they seem to be getting an out from people is because they are going after a worse group in ISIS, but they tend to forget that they harassed a teen girl and posted her personal information online for people to send hate mail and prank call her, or that they attacked Sony who had the gal to press charges against hackers who were exposing root keys on the PS3.

Assuming he will be the biggest thing in entertainment, next year's issue, perhaps? Barring any sex scandals or becoming the next Jar Jar Binks, of course.

I thought Miller was her brother in The Net, or maybe I'm just remembering wrong. I do remember that the villain hacked in and changed it so he would be given a medication that he was deathly allergic to. Eagle Eye at least seemed a little bit more plausible to me as everything of importance is connected to some form of electronic output or cloud or server and with everything that can be spied upon made it seem like it could happen. I forgot that Hackers was set in present time which makes everything that they were doing seem that much more ridiculous.
-
Thinking on it, Johnny Mnemonic could have been a movie written by Doug Benson if he were asked to write a movie about hacking and neither he nor the studio had any idea what that was.
-
I know they mentioned wanting to do The Net sometime soon but I can't remember that being too crazy outside of a couple moments. If anything I thought they would do Johnny Mnemonic since that is so batshit insane in its portrayal of cyberpunk and hacking.
-
If they were stupid enough to fall for the initial prank to begin with, I doubt that they would be smart enough to put someone by the door.

To be fair Jolie's first real role, which came out just before this film, Cyborg 2, is just as bonkers yet no one ever mentions it so this movie does have a bit more cult appeal. Also, the bodysuit Jolie was wearing was for Sexwax, as I'm sure a way to up her sex appeal within the movie since many people might not know what it is, a friend of mine did ask if was some kind of lube and I had to tell her is was a surfing product. And another thing, how has no one yet brought up that the movie site was actually attacked by legit hackers upon the film's release?
-
To be fair that could be a senior picture. For my high school they did that for us where instead of the normal "get your crappy picture in the gym and that's your yearbook photo" they would use the one that was professionally taken for our families. Also concerning the hacking bet, how does making a person legally dead on paper only equal out to the same points as putting what is basically a craigslist ad for men into bondage or cancelling his credit card? What kind of shitty scoring system is that?

Yeah the New Frontier is amazing as is Cooke's adaptation of the Parker crime novels. I believe he has the fifth one coming out soon.

I'm a huge Fallout fan so I did like the bobblehead, and yeah I already had a Phasma Pop so that sucked unlike the Loot Crate that had a totally alternate version of Groot which I really enjoyed. Also just a single lanyard was not really a great item in the box along with the shirt. I did buy the special Creepy box from Loot Crate which was fantastic because it had a Crimson Peak Pop, an Umbrella Corp. umbrella, a glow in the dark Chucky figurine, a zombie gnome, and a couple other things, definitely worth the 50 bucks.
-
I've been with Loot Crate for over a year and the good outweighs the bad I feel, though this last box was kinda eh, especially compared to the awesome time travel box from last month. I too have been a Marvel Corps member since the beginning and have liked all the boxes I've gotten, though I can't wait for the next run of Walgreen Marvel Funkos which include Iron Spider, Green Goblin, and Taskmaster. I just got my box for the Smuggler Bounty and wasn't that impressed since the Funkos inside were just a chrome Cap. Phasma and a Tie Fighter Pilot, both of which have already been released albeit not chrome and in a Force Awakens box. I know the next theme is Rebellion or something like it but I don't know if I'll get it. I basically get those last two boxes for the Funkos since I'm a huge collector of them so for the Star Wars one just to be rehashes of released figures was really a let down.

Well be ready because he's voicing one of the main characters in the cartoon based on the comics series Chew by John Layman, another great read by the way. It's interesting that he wasn't the initial choice for his role though, as I had met Layman at a convention and he explained that the production got postponed slight as the original actor for the role, Robin Williams, had committed suicide and needed to be replaced, despite him recording more than half of his lines. This ultimately led to Tennant being cast along with Steve Yeun from the Walking Dead in the lead role and Felicia Day in the role of his girlfriend.

I'm a huge Azzarello fan and loved his version of Batman in the Flashpoint storyline because the world he created using a simple changing of one moment in DC history is incredible and I wish there was more than just those couple issues for that character to be fleshed out. Also I would include Joker and Luthor, also done by Azzarello, which are stories from the perspectives of Lex Luthor and a character working for the Joker. They are really fleshed out and give the reader an slight understanding of their world and why they do the things that they do, also Joker could easily be viewed as a direct sequel to The Dark Knight since it's very grounded in reality. Another great one is Superman: Red Son by Mark Millar which might be one of the greatest What If? comics stories ever. I too loved Fables, though I think the series ending was kinda rushed, but the journey to that point is great. Also, again I'll recommend The Boys because of how great and fucked up it is, though be prepared it is not for the feint of heart with how they handle certain topics.
-
I was actually surprised that most of the main cast lived to the near end of the movie, only for them to start dropping like flies to the monster horde, Statham included. It's like they forgot that bigger names had to die and just rushed it at the end while glossing over the fact that they had indeed been killed.

I'm gonna be watching it this week since I'm off until next Tuesday, I liked the 20 minutes I've watched so far.

Alright here I go. For Marvel: The last two runs of Daredevil by Mark Waid are really good and are easy enough that people who haven't read the series to that point won't be lost. The last two runs of Deadpool, first by Daniel Way and then Gary Duggan & Brian Posehn, are great because they are basically blank slates for a character who was essential a side character for the longest time in Marvel. Hawkeye by Matt Fraction. Wolverine & the X-Men by Jason Aaron is hilarious and amazeballs, gotta love Doop. Avengers Arena is a great spin on the murder game genre like Battle Royale and Hunger Games. Marvel Zombies is a great self contained storyline with great horror and gore. For DC: The current run of Suicide Squad is a great intro to the team dynamic leading up to the movie. Wonder Woman by Brian Azzarello is a must read for comic fans, and this is coming from a person who wasn't the biggest fan of the character at the start, Injustice: Gods Among Us is an amazing tie-in series to the video games that really fleshes that universe out. Vertigo/Image/IDW/Etc.: TheWalking Dead is still amazing 150 issues in. Preacher or The Boys by Garth Ennis are vile, disgusting and incredible. Thief of Thieves is an awesome crime series. Concrete Park mixes gang warfare and sci-fi really well. Ghosted is fantastic at blending heist caper and supernatural. Southern Bastards is a great crime thriller set in the south. The Humans is fun as it blends Planet of the Apes and Sons of Anarchy in a Tijuana Bible style of book. Hopefully this helps you out.

AvX makes sense I believe if you know the backstory, which I didn't the first time I read it so I had no idea why Cyclops was such a colossal asshole. Loved Blackest Night since it was basically a zombie story using huge characters from DC's past. Also DC has nothing on Marvel and bilking readers out of money using countless tie-ins. I'm going to slowly purchase the ones that I want for Secret Wars but they have nearly FORTY tie-in books for that storyline.
-
DC is actually pretty good about being contained and then getting things out on time, and if they do a crossover they release a singular book that has all of the various issues involved together if a person only wants to read that story or they can read the individual series if they just want those. There was another mini-crossover for the X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy called the Black Vortex that was confusing as shit because even in the collected story it bounced around and tried to keep everything together and was only just making it more confusing. Marvel's other huge problem is that they keep rebooting and starting over, just so that they can have numerous number 1 issues, it's gotten so bad that they are making fun of it in Marvel comics themselves.
