Oh trucks is a horrible movie starring Timothy Busfield. Basically the same plot but it falls in line with the darker ambiguous ending of the story. Trucks also has some pretty laughable scenes including where a toy truck crushes a guys head in. Or where a hazmat suit gets inflated and kills a guy with an ax. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=trucks+%281997%29+movie+hazmat

After reading the book Stephen King Films FAQ, King was incredibly in over his head when making this, being coked out of his mind didn't help. He was basically given the shot to direct the movie after Dino De Laurentiis who had purchased the rights to a crapton of his books previously, couldn't find anyone to direct this movie. Everything got delayed because King didn't know anything about shooting a movie and everyone on set let him know it.

Any HDTGM Movies that you consider good?
RyanSz replied to Swarlito's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Having created a thread here about the HDTGM movies that I have seen or own, there area a few that I legit enjoy. From the Crank films to Punisher: War Zone, even the Stallone ones like Cobra and Demolition Man I find enjoyable in a humorous way. Here's the thread I was talking about. http://forum.earwolf.com/topic/13021-which-movies-have-you-seenown/ -
Yeah this one was a mess, especially compared to the first and third which did pretty well at creating a world within a world and interesting characters. Plus instead of interesting traps, they basically create a moving, invisible wall that kills people.

Episode 87 — Easy Rider 2: The Ride Back
RyanSz replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Are we ever going to get the other Hulk Hogan episode? Also, this movie seems like someone watched the Room and said "I can do worse." -
Redline (A movie funded by subprime mortages)

The director also tried a publicity stunt where they crashed an Enzo driven by Eddie Griffin. Griffin struck out at people saying it wasn't a stunt but when you see footage makes it so blatant that it is a setup as the guy filming it doesn't move at all or that Eddie Griffin is the worst driver known to man. -
Cruising into your hearts this Summer.

Yeah I was surprised how much I liked the movie, definitely more thought out than what Oblivion was regarding the sci-fi aspect of it.
-
Shit you're right. Damn them for being similar titles and the fact that the past couple of summers have featured the movie of the week being unnecessarily put on the boards as a terrible movie. This movie does deserve to be discussed as it truly is batshit insane. Cat flu anyone?
-
While there were some plot holes in the movie, the science of why he was going back in time over and over was explained in a way that would work in a sci-fi movie and the action was interesting to watch. There are numerous movies from Tom Cruise that would be better for the show (Cocktail).

That was the only good thing to come from that whole debacle.

The bad thing about the Chucky cameo was that they were hyping that for WEEKS and all it amounted to was a quick video and Rick Steiner looking even more like a fool. And I'm sorry the worst cameo in wrestling ever is David Arquette.

I'll give credit where credit is due. While we mock it now for how cheesy some of the angles were involving celebrities in the WWF, Vince knew how to put on a helluva spectacle. The first Wrestlemania is proof of that as it was a make or break moment for his promotion and has evident by them still being around and the biggest promotion in the world, it worked. Unfortunately Vince is still stuck in his 80s mindset at times where we now see the product being more kid friendly and constant celebrity appearances, most of who are B level or below.

This was like someone said "let's mix Robocop's news satire, the various gangs of The Warriors, the dystopia of Escape from New York, and Double Dragon's characters. Oh and let's make it for kids!" This movie would be perfect for the show and could easily go two hours as Jason tries to understand the building jacks, how monster Abobo looks like he has HUGE BALLS for shoulders, or that Scott Wolf is somehow supposed to be taken as a serious martial artist.

So then you're complaining that there wasn't enough Cranston in a Godzilla movie? He was the focus of the trailer as a diversion for what people really wanted to see, Godzilla, they never revealed him in full or the other monsters as that mystique was meant to draw people into the theaters, like what Cloverfield did in its buildup. You give people a face they can recognize and the idea of a giant monster and they will come to see more, which they did, but people have put this idea in their head that trailers have to be completely what the movie is a bout and get upset when it isn't that 100%. This movie was exactly what it set out to be, a representation/reboot of early era Godzilla movies. The characters are wooden at times, the plot is there enough to get you to the main points, glimpses of the monsters, and then the final battle. People were coming into this movie expecting the later, super chessy Godzilla movies which had a bit more fighting, but still the same cardboard story and wooden characters.

I'm bumping this thread as I just rewatched this insane fucking movie. It's still amazing that Michael Madsen was seen as a viable leading man over Oscar winners Ben Kingsley and Forrest Whitaker.

I bet you write a lot of 5 star reviews on Amazon, don't you?
-
Holy fuck why couldn't there have been a Shit My Dad Says style of book based on Varney?
-
You mean the guy that has been proven to be a fraud who never fought in the Kumite as the address where it took place was his home address? That Frank Dux? Okay this movie is TOTALLY legit now.

Holy shit he's admitted the whole vacation checklist idea. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Adam-Sandler-Admits-He-Chooses-Projects-Based-Where-He-Like-Vacation-43156.html

It is made in the vein of the first Godzilla, which was a bit more serious and where Godzilla wasn't even shown that much (I believe he was only visible for about 15 minutes in the original). This really doesn't take itself too seriously outside of Cranston's role, and it worked really well in building up a world where these monsters can exist.

I think the chances of a second NHB movie being made after it was announced yesterday that Vince McMahon lost 350 MILLION DOLLARS in the stock market in a single day. This sequel could easily bring those dollar bills back to his still pretty full wallet.

Two words for why this movie won't ever be covered by the show: Aziz Ansari.

Because fuck logic, that's why.
