    In Dreams (1999)

True and there were points where I would be screaming at her to shut up about apples or red hair or whatever else she ranted about, but he was a dick even before the kid got taken, like literally ready to throw down with her as soon as he came into the house the first time for seemingly no reason. Also I would love the show to take 30-45 minutes discussing the outdoor play that seemed to have no connection to a school or anything and those fucking pixie girls that were just screaming in Benning's face for zero reason. I also wonder if they were trying to go for a Silence of the Lambs feel by having the antagonist only on screen for as little as possible, as RDJ is only in the movie for the last 20 minutes even though he's the impetus for everything Benning does, hell the actor who played the younger version of his character was on screen more than him.

    In Dreams (1999)

Just started watching this and am wondering if Benning was on Nic Cage level of cocaine for this role, Also her husband is just a gigantic asshole to her for what seems like no reason.
  3. Well of course he wants dongs to be shown more on screen, I mean have you seen that dude's hog? In other dong related news, did you guys hear that people online freaked out about a new issue of Batman where you could see the shadowed outline of his nude dong tip? It wasn't even really a closeup and it was in a shadow, but for some reason people were unprepared for Batdong.
  4. Assume that they looked like this.
  5. So apparently the theme of a more "anything goes" policy at male strip clubs is prevalent enough that there are a few adult sites using it as a theme, some even actual Magic Mike-esque companies that film their work at private bachelorette parties. Now while the phrase "reality porn" sort of died about a decade ago when film technology got better and the companies started to admit using actual adult film actresses, this genre seems to be the one that people still question if it isn't just real and not actually scripted, simply because it's such a thing at the actual clubs. The biggest of these type of sites, Dancing Bear, did finally get revealed to be staged as some of the extras in one scene admitted that they were paid 50-100 bucks to sit around, drink, and watch the scene being filmed, but it took years for even that to come out to the point that there were some articles online trying to research the reality of the scenes and still not coming up with anything concrete.
  6. Since we're close to the Halloween episode I'd thought I recommend the batshit insane horror film Jack Frost. This only real reason this got a push in video stores was because Shannon Elizabeth had her breakout role in American Pie, even though she's only in this film for about 10 minutes, though the bulk of that is in probably it's most notable scene which is the snowman sexual assault. Then there's things like anti-freeze oatmeal, more icepuns than in Batman & Robin, and the fact that it came out around the same time as the Michael Keaton Jack Frost movie so no whenever one is shown on TV, cable companies almost always get the descriptions switched. I did have a coworker actually have this happen as they were hoping to watch the Keaton one with their child, only to realize it was the wrong one after the first kill scene.

    Gothika (2003)

This shitfest was insane. Featuring Halle Berry and Penelope Cruz who were at their peaks career-wise as well as a trying to make a comeback Robert Downey Jr. It has a decent story with Berry being sent to the asylum where she works because she has murdered her husband. The whole time she claims her innocence and begins to understand there is something supernatural leading her to finding the truth about that incident and her husband in general. ***SPOILER FOR A TEN YEAR OLD MOVIE**** When she finds out her husband was part of a duo who raped/murdered women she also sees that she murdered her husband while possessed by the spirit of one of the girls. After his accomplice is discovered and ultimately killed, the movie fast forwards to where Berry and Cruz are out of the asylum. This is where the movie goes off the deep end. Berry knows she killed her husband, as does the state. All of the evidence proves she did it, and even though she was possessed, there is no reason she should be free. This plot point alone should make for an interesting episode.
  8. I'm sure there is something on archive.org or JSTOR, but I don't want to consider the search phrasing I'd have to put together to find what might have been talked about in the show.
  9. So I didn't watch this movie at all but it sounds like a total dumpster fire. In regards to whether Slick was a sister or girlfriend and if the Florida theme is to continue I'll ask this in egards to who she is, . Also that teacher could find herself in serious trouble not only for having sex with her student, but her reason for failing him being solely based upon that she doesn't like his joke is some serious grounds for administrative intervention should he filed a formal complaint.

    Spawn (1997)

Yeah I was legitimately surprised when I read the comic after seeing the movie and seeing that Terry is black, rather than milk white like Sweeney. It also predated Marvel in how they modify their comics now to match up with the movies, as they would retcon Al Simmons being killed by his protege, Chapel, to being killed by Jessica Priest as he was in the movie.

    Spawn (1997)

Yeah Sweeney is so miscast in this film, as the comic book character resembles MJW actually, and can carry himself in a fight. Sweeney looks like the dad in every movie who is likely to sue the main character's dad because their kids got in a playground fight. He's basically Travis from Kazaam.

    187 (1997)

I remember this coming at the tail end of the "teacher goes into troubled inner city school and changes it" genre boom in the 90s that really lifted off with movies like Dangerous Minds and to some extent The Substitute. The one interesting thing about this movie is that there really isn't a sunny side to this movie outside of the couple students who are able to graduate, Sam Jackson's character is basically done with the world and teaching in general after being stabbed at his last job, the gangbangers don't learn anything, and a bunch of people die for no real reason.

    Venom (2018)

Okay, this definitely better than the Ghost Rider movies but again that's not saying much. They did a pretty good job establishing the world of a Marvel character outside the Marvel universe, but there are still some issues considering that it was like the Ang Lee Hulk film in that they were trying to create a story without much of a foil/antagonist. Amhed's character is good as a villain, but the symbiote villain isn't really better or has a better motivation that's clear to the audience, it's just stated at one point and then nothing else is pushed forward with it as there's only ten minutes left in the movie. It hurts this film that the number of villains available to be used is limited due to Marvel having the bulk of character rights at their disposal, but Venom does have some lesser level villains that could have been used like Jack-O-Lantern. Also I wasn't the only one who noticed the way the trailer showed symbiote being pronounced, as it was changed for the movie to proper phonetics, with the i making an e sound rather than a hard i. I'm sure that there will be some Jason complaints in future episodes about the eating in this movie which is fucking disgusting, if I never see Tom Hardy ravenously eating garbage chicken again, it would be too soon. Probably the biggest issue I had with this movie outside of the villain were the huge plot holes that were left by the end, Lastly, knowing that this is getting mixed reviews at best and the organization is so obvious now in how it nominates things, expect Hardy and the symbiote to be nominated for worst screen couple for next year's Razzies.

    Venom (2018)

I too am a Venom fan and will be seeing this sometime this weekend, but I don't have high expectations. I was given a reason to feel Sony bungled this when it appeared that they were mixing two different Venom hosts, Eddie Brock and Flash Thompson, as they have Eddie trying to make the symbiote a benevolent entity, which was the whole gimmick of the Thompson run. I know that the recent series where Brock gets the symbiote back is somewhat along these lines, but not to the extent they are trying to make, because Brock has almost always been a bad dude in the comics. Also, I fucking hate the internet in that the movie just only came out today and every article in one way or another spoils the end credit cameo, one on Yahoo even NAMING THE CHARACTER/ACTOR who appears in the title. I also hate how they pronounce symbiote in the trailers which seems like a runner in the film, just cringy and wrong.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)

I don't know what you're talking about, they are totally different playsets. I mean one has no leaves on top of the trees and the other doesn't. Also isn't that a Endor playest on the left or did advertisers just not give a shit and put Ewok figures on a Dagobah playset?
  16. I remember liking the first one when I saw it as a kid, and this I only remembered bits and pieces. I always found it odd that Barr was chosen for the sister's voice, as even though her show had started to peak at number one in the ratings at the time, but I wouldn't think she'd be an in-demand voice over choice to play a baby, especially considering Willis was just coming off Die Hard 2 and Alley was on Cheers and had been doing some moderately successful films. Travolta is in the same league at that point with Barr as his career was in a slump outside of the first Look Who's Talking. Yet now that this has been covered I really do hope they do the third film about that has the dogs inner dialogue, and only Travolta and Alley as returning cast. I was amazed that no one mentioned that a producer for the Fast & Furious series has been trying to do a reboot of this series, which I think is the most appropriate person to do so.

    The Evil Within (2017)

Yeah that's it, and actually the game has a similar take on dreams/nightmares and how fucked up they can be, so for a minute I thought they had rushed a movie adaptation of the game, which wouldn't surprise me with how quickly some studios will make reboots or remakes.

    The Evil Within (2017)

To be fair this isn't his worst, mainly because the character is disabled due to getting attacked as a child, rather it being a condition from birth.

    The Evil Within (2017)

I read a bit more about this in an article in Rue Morgue concerning the production process of this movie, which took 15 years by the way and was released 2 YEARS after Getty's death, and it's very clear this was a passion project for the director who was working through some shit. It's akin to The Room in that there is a plot there but it gets lost in the midst of these subplots and train of thoughts that are random, but at least in this there is conclusion to them. It's also very clear that while both films had a near identical budget, Getty was knowledgeable enough about the industry to make a fairly well produced film, especially for a movie that should have been released in 02-03 rather than 2017. The special effects in particular are pretty great, drawing inspiration from what seems to be Tool music videos and various short animated films. It's definitely worth a watch, for that aspect, as well as it get's pretty nutso for a horror flick, but if they ever cover this they need to get the Sklars as guests because they share a role as a cop in this and I would love to hear about their experience working on this film.

    Mandy (2018)

Just watched this on Amazon and can't recommend it highly enough, it's that good. For how insane it is it has a perfect 80s feel and amazing performances from Cage and Lonus Roache, and a great cameo from an always awesome Richard Brake. Cage doesn't really say anything for the first hour, allowing others to build the story up, so when Cage becomes the focal point there is a range of emotions he has to work through to get from point A to point B. He is nuts in this but in a way that makes sense for the movie.

    Dead Man on Campus (1998)

This was a weird little trend where you had this and The Curve coming out close to one another and I think there were a few more that covered this topic, and none were particularly good. This got a little more publicity as it was the lighter of the two movies and I think MTV might have been involved with the production as they were promoting the hell out of it on their channel, plus it was MPG's first real role after Saved by the Bell, so there was some interest to see him in a bit more mature content.

    Episode 197 - Beastly: LIVE!

If he truly learned then yes he helps his dad, as it emphasizes the son's growth while also showing the dad what kind of a prick he truly is. Though I wouldn't be surprised if the first time the dad sees himself in a mirror after being changed, and knowing what his son had to go through, just decides to put a gun in his mouth or jump out a window to save himself the torment he thinks he will suffer.

    Episode 197 - Beastly: LIVE!

I about lost my mind when the opening song is just the word "vanity" over and over as he works out and then it cuts to building-sized ads featuring statuesque models. Let's not forget that in the book it's revealed that the housekeeper was actually Kendra in disguise the whole time, basically watching over Kyle to see if he was truly changing his ways. And the only reason that the book takes over two years is because Kendra saw him take a picture with Lindy at the dance and felt that was enough to warrant him getting a bigger chance at redemption. Also was Kendra just wearing wigs everywhere? In one scene she has the big blonde up-do with streaks in it, then it's a short bob that is jet black, and then what is meant to be the very next day she's back to long, blonde, and wavy.

    Babes in Toyland (1986)

I now want a sequel to The Founder where Michael Keaton is involved with the logistics of mapping out that promotion for each franchise.
