It was a Christmas promotion that McDonald's ran for like a decade where they sold like some of the biggest hits for the year or year prior. You basically got a VHS, which were still pretty pricey at the time, for under ten bucks, with the purchase of a value meal. It's how I got copies of The Addams Family, Home Alone, and a few others that I can't remember off the top of my head. I was recently trying to explain this to a younger friend of mine and he just looked at me like that was the most insane promotion he had ever heard of.

Haven't listened to the episode yet so if this is covered in it, apologies. Apparently the book this was based on tries to go the Vampire Academy route of being tongue-in-cheek with covering the original stories it's based upon, by having the main character in a chatroom where he talks with others who have been transformed into creatures, making playful reference to the various references to all of the versions of Beauty and the Beast. Also, I have to assume that Neil Patrick Harris is making the same type of film choices as Samuel L. Jackson, who has admitted that he chooses a role based on wanting to do a movie like he liked to watch as a kid or likes to watch now, but in NPH's case, it's books he enjoyed reading to himself or his kids and hears that they're making an adaptation. Looking over his filmography there's Starship Troopers, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Beastly, Gone Girl, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and various DC animated films. And was there ever a reason as to why he was made to look like Matt Murdock with the Kingpin's walking stick?

Yeah all three are on Prime now, and you really only need to watch 3 as it really plays up the camp factor and John Barrowman is fantastic in it. Each one sort of follows the same premise of a where some guy involved with the ocean starts to think there is something more to the rash of shark attacks while a muckity muck business man is trying to dissuade him. The first one the sharks are mutated I believe, and are somewhat featured in the second one, but that's about the only connection between those two. The third is a standalone film and is more a collage of fair use shark footage than it is an actual film, but god are the crazy parts worth watching the whole thing for.

Another thing i noticed when watching this movie was that it had numerous similarities to another film that needs to be covered by the show, Shark Attack 3: Megaladon. Both feature a hero who isn't believed about there being a maneating shark, there is a rich business owner who wants to either contain the Shark or bribes people to ignore the shark, a "shocking reveal" that there is a bigger, meaner megaladon, and an awkard romance between the two leads. If you haven't seen this film I highly recommend you do because it's free on Prime, which is maybe the best thing that can be said about that film.

I wouldn't expect the sharks to be inbred as they can live for-fucking-ever, so there would be little need to breed. If I recall from old Time Life animal books I read as a kid, fish could breed fairly quickly and in massive numbers, and we're only seeing a small portion of the lower sea floor, so there could be larger schools of fish that we aren't seeing, but with a shark as massive as the second Meg was, it is highly unlikely it would be surviving longer than a few years. Also, we need more shark movies, otherwise what will SyFy use to fight Dinocroc, Mega Python, or Tara Reid?

Correction: The Meg was killed by having it's stomach cut open by the wing of the sea go-kart, and then it being eaten by a school of other sharks. Something that Statham would not have any idea to do because that idea was shown to Wilson during his night hunt of the second Meg when they saw smaller sharks eating the corpse of what was revealed to be the whale. As for this movie, I have a few thoughts myself: I do wish it was R because it pulled back when the audience was wanting it to push further. basically every death was either an A-Team escape or cut away from super quickly. Ruby Rose's hair angered me for unknown reasons, from the spike/dreads to the undercarriage of it being aqua blue, it just seemed like they were trying to pander to some demographic but didn't know which one. I was furious at how angry everyone was at Statham for saving the majority of people he was tasked to, because 1 or 2 ended up dying. In the opening scene I was surprised that for the first time that I can recall, the left behind partners were actually begging for the lead character to wait and come save them, rather than telling him to leave them behind to save everyone else. Yet when Statham does his job, all of a sudden he's an asshole because he couldn't do the impossible. Even in the second instance when The Wall is telling everyone that Toshi sacrificed himself, the daughter basically calls him a murderer, despite her exacerbating the situation by being impatient. I'm still trying to figure out Wilson's business model for this venture, as it's revealed when he arrives that he has no idea what they were doing or that it cost him over a billion dollars. Yeah you can get some prestige in the scientific community by revealing your discovery, but that won't come near to covering the costs of the expeditions. If only they had said they thought there was a new energy source below the cold layer or that Wilson thought he could capture the Meg to put into a theme park, it would make more sense. Also, did anyone else expect the Meg to leap out of the water and pull down one of those helicopters?

With the spreadsheets I've done for the show I haven't covered this, mainly because I skim through the minisodes on the site, rather than straight downloading them. Hell I'm still trying to find time to finish the Jacob's Ladder Scenarios list I started a few months back, but with a massive group of projects at my jobs. that's taken a backseat.

I can say that for the past couple years I've been using Know Your Meme.com to get my news, because while it started as just a directory of various memes and their history, it's evolved into covering various news and major topics in a way that isn't slanted one way or another and is pretty well researched and sourced.

God that woman brings up bad childhood memories of some of the moms I dealt with when I went to a Christian private school from 2nd-6th grade. As for the horns I remember Dio gave an interview where he credited his grandmother with the symbol, which she would use in a "mind your manners because I'm watching you" kind of way. In regards to other hand gestures, I'm sure Smigg is aware of the Too Sweet controversy in regards to a hand signal used by a variety of wrestling factions including the NWO, Degeneration-X, and the Bullet Club, only for the latter to be given a cease and desist order from the WWE who apparently trademarked the gesture, but that has come under questions as there are numerous colleges that use the signal and the original wrestler who used it, Kevin Nash, said he started so after he saw Turkish gangsters using it during one of the WWE tours in Europe in the 90s and thought it looked cool. In other words, people are weird when it comes to hand signals.

This is my least favorite of Zombie's films, which is saying something after the debacle of Halloween 2 and the pseudo psychology in it. I remember this film being more notable for the fact that it was promoted heavily and then was put on the shelf for a couple years before getting a limited release. I will say that Zombie sold me with his homage abilities and the fact there was clear love for the genre, only for him to follow this with a horror/road film with The Devil's Rejects, making me wonder how the hell he's going to follow it up with the upcoming third film in the series.

Having seen the first sequel to this which was a piece of shit, I was amazed to read somewhere that the third one was actually bad in a good way, but mainly because it took an odd turn of somehow having religion be what kills bugs in a satirical/non-satirical way.

I remember seeing this as a kid and enjoying it since it was basically an attempt to make a twisted Toy Story. The idea that by putting in a missile guidance chip into an action figure somehow makes them sentient is insane. I also love that Dennis Leary's CEO character is so stupid rich that he has his assistant follow him with a computerized check writing machine in order to write payoffs for people and I have to assume that Jones only signed on because of his kids or grandkids begging him to and thinking this would be another Toy Story type film.

Just watched this entire series since became available on Prime in the last couple weeks, and this really should get done by the show, preferably as a double show with The Meg, as they actually share some plot points and jump moments. For me the climactic shark attack on the yacht could cover at least 30 minutes of showtime. What's more amazing is this was filmed in Bulgaria, hence basically every crew member and cast member outside of the leads having at least two V's in their name and the near entire movie being dubbed like a bad spaghetti western.

Dalton was okay as a Bond but fell into the trap Moore's Bond had where the producers were just trying to ape the popular genres of the time and throw Bond in the mix. So having Bond try and be a run and gunner like a Rambo or John Matrix type of character is so off base for the series. I may also hold OHMSS in high regard as it really helps shut down the conspiracy theory that James Bond is a codename rather than an actual person. Also, wouldn't front loading your bike with that much metal completely throw off the balance? And I don't know if it's been added to the "signs of a bad movie" list, but maybe having Gene Simmons in a major role should be at the top of that list.

A few things I want to talk about after listening to the episode. First George Lazenby is nowhere near the worst Bond, that is easily Timothy Dalton. Lazenby is probably my third favorite Bond after Connery and Craig, and might have been higher if he didn't get into a huge fight with the producers about how he was to promote the film, and basically leaving the contract he had for another five films if I remember correctly. The Hulu documentary about Lazenby getting the role is one of the best documentaries I've seen in years and gives quite a bit of information on the whole process of how they looked to replace Connery as Bond. Also, I was surprised to hear that this movie cost three million as there was some big production pieces and special effects in the film. This was more shocking in comparison to Yes Giorgio that somehow cost nineteen million and looked like utter dog shit. As for Gene Simmons' wig, I was starting to think that he was wearing TWO wigs, the orange Coruthers one and the big Rocky Horror one, because there is no feasible way he could fit that mass of hair under a cap in order to put on the orange wig, it was easier to see it as him having one wig in his backpack or supply pouch and would switch as necessary. With the club that Stamos rides his motorbike to, there are literally dozens of people also riding their bikes up the elevator into that club and are running the bikes on the dance floor. My question is how the fuck is not everyone in that club dead from carbon monoxide poisoning because there seems to be no ventilation in that club at all? Was it confirmed that Vanity was having sex with Lazenby? Because with how she was mourning him I thought they were in a relationship, which would mean that Stamos was an eskimo brother with his own father. Finally, since this movie seems to be the template used for young teens/adults becoming spies, can we please have If Looks Could Kill starring RIchard Greico covered by the show, because that movie is an utter disaster?

After just getting out of the theater, I can say that this movie would be perfect for the show in a Crank-style episode. Basically a movie-length video game, the first person style isn't actually too distracting except for a few moments during some on foot chase scenes. The violence is visceral at times and the parkour makes you flinch as you're watching this character scale up buildings or drop down on enemies. Sharlto Copley gives an AMAZING performance as the multi-faceted Jimmy, and the main villain comes off like an albino Tommy Wiseau. Please do this movie.
